Mario Kart World was in development for 8 years

Quick recap:

  • The game has been in development since 2017
  • The initial pitch was for an open world racer with 24 players on screen and 60fps for the Switch. The Switch struggled with pulling this off.
  • By 2020, they had worked out a lot of the technical issues, but the Switch 2 was being planned by this point, so the game was moved to that.
  • A smaller team worked on the Booster Pack for Mario Kart 8 to keep that title alive.
  • Counting the intermissions between tracks, there are 100+ track variations in the game.
  • In game achievement system that can be used for cosmetic kart customization

There are games that are made by a few people and have very expanded games, how is it possible that being Nintendo, they take too long on this project.?
Maybe they wasted all the money in fake lolitas whores with eyepatches and buldark cupnoodles, who knows?

Seven years thinking about what to recycle from previous episodes and one year to copy Forza Horizon

10 people exchanging posteds from time to time isn't "in development"

This.
"In development" is too vague.
Could be a few people having meetings a couple of times a month. Or it could be dozens/hundreds of developers actively working full time on the game.

Every major franchise probably has a sequel "in development" as soon as the newest game ships (or maybe even before that).
