Mario Kart World will outsell GTA6 this year

Assuming both are coming out this year, It's a matter of systems sold. For Mario Kart to sell 30 millions they need to sell 30 millions systems in half a year. There's already 100 millions ps5/Xbox sold. So forget that.
 
It's far more likely I will wake up tomorrow with my head sewn into the carpet, than Mario Kart outselling GTA 6.

GTA 6's release will be a huge moment in entertainment history. Keep in mind, GTA 5 made a billion dollars in less than one week.

Mario Kart 6 will sell well but it wont even come close to GTA 6, especially if GTA 6 online is ends up being good.
 
Even if GTA6 releases this year, it won't be on PC. I still don't see MKW beating it, but I would love to see it.
 
I don't doubt. They probably notice that MK is a hardware seller, so they gonna start and end with MK.
 
GTA6 has a shot at outselling the Switch 2 lifetime - if the Switch 2 sells around 3DS or SNES levels.

Game companies are delaying/not announcing dates for their games to avoid GTA 6. The entire fall release window is on hold. A ton people will take sick/vacation days for the GTA launch. Some portions of society will come to a slight halt temporarily. I don't think there has ever been a more anticipated game, nothing is beating GTA 6
 
Maybe if GTA VI releases on the final few days of this year cause even releasing on the early days of the last month or even a week before the year ends would most likely have GTA VI selling more.

If GTA6 releases this year, it will sell more than Mario Kart World this year. Switch 2 starts from 0 in June.

GTA 6 will sell more in it's first few weeks than Nintendo will even ship Switch 2's this year. The Switch 1 launched in March and shipped 14.86m by the end of 2017.

GTA V sold 16m in 3 days.

So even with an 100% attach rate there's no way this is happening.

People with opinions like this are either too young to remember GTA 5's release or they have no idea at all of how big the GTA franchise actually is.
Hell, just by GTA 6's trailer numbers alone it should be quite easy to tell how popular it is but alas, silly takes like this still manage to emerge.

That's impossible because it looks to be exclusive to Switch 2. The Switch 2 would have to sell 50 million units by December and for everyone to buy Mario Kart.

The GTA Trilogy was an absolute train-wreck and it has sold something like +20M copies thus far.

They can obviously paint a turd with the GTA6 logo on it and it'll sell +100M.
 
There is not enough manufacturing capacity for Switch 2 production this year, even if everybody bought a copy.

Edit: And even IF there is a situation like BotW where the attach rate was above 1.0, it will still not happen.

If GTA 6 releases this year… Mario Kart Worlds, a game that will be stuck on one platform, is not touching the former. It is no exaggeration to say that everyone and their mother, brother, sister, father, and neighbor will be playing GTA 6, on PlayStation AND on Xbox.

It's going to outsell every game released this generation from sheer hype and cultural relevance alone.
 
Even in a hypothetical situation where GTA and MK release on the same day on a single platform each with unlimited availability for both, MK doesn't really pick up until Christmas. It sells well and is a solid #2 in all charts, but GTA is an entirely different beast that instantly sells gangbusters and is a cultural talking point for months on end that only serves to draw even more people in.

Personally I will be avoiding both like the plague, but GTA6's success is a foregone conclusion and my opinion means nothing.

you're crazy op, GTA is a MULTIPLATFORM release. World Tour could never win off that fact alone, especially if GTA somehow ended up on the Switch 2 as well lol (not sure about that but who knows atm).
