You can't really sit down on someone coming out after a snapback unless you've got a solid 2 meter in the bank... even then, Phoenix by herself is no slouch. There's nothing she can't do.McNum said:QCF+A2 = Hello Phoenix!
Pull a Snap-Back on her, and have something nasty waiting for her. Kill her off before the opponent even has a chance to start charging. You get 1 free hyper meter at the beginning of the match, and used right, it's easily worth that to avoid Level 3 X-Factor Dark Phoenix at the end of the fight.

Wow...that's odd. Is aerial exchange down more difficult than left/right or up?Yoshichan said:WOW just tried this out!
Up = No bar
Left/Right = ½ bar
Down = 1 bar
Though I hate pressing down while pressing S. I think I'll go for either left or right
THIS GAME. THIS GAME.

First thing I'm testing when I get the game in is potential super skrull AA grabs after a KO or snapback.
It'll be easy for the opponent to aerial deny you if you keep doing down+S.GatorBait said:Wow...that's odd. Is aerial exchange down more difficult than left/right or up?

ThatCrazyGuy said:There hasn't even been a big tournament yet for tier lists and what is "broke". After Final Round and EVO, I think we can judge pretty good maybe.
I mean, back in the day, alot of the American players shitted on 3rd strike. Then Japan comes over and rapes, and everybody is back on the train.
I just think it's to early to tell. I personally think Wong is just whining because it isn't MvC2 and it too much like TvC. To me, those are wack arguments. TvC wasn't that bad, and we had MvC2 for 10 years, time for something new. MvC3 doesn't make part 2 disappear all of a sudden. People can still play it.
As for comments about it is too easy, we shall. Maybe it will pan out that way, who knows.
It's like when some GOP pundits saying Obama has done worse than Bush, when he has had only 2 years so far and Bush had 8. So weird.
I'm aware of that, yes. But snapbacking has the advantage that the opponent has to adjust, even for a split second to the fact that he's suddenly playing Phoenix. And a second's worth of "Wait, what?" is all you need to start up a combo.DY_nasty said:You can't really sit down on someone coming out after a snapback unless you've got a solid 2 meter in the bank... even then, Phoenix by herself is no slouch. This is actually really good and covers a lot of the basics. I can see this being very useful to some of my friends who I'll be forcing to play with me.haunts said:Not sure if this was posted, but put together some basic advice for those of you just getting into the VS series.

Its not that fast. Plus there's a bigass glare and flag and balloons to let everyone know that snapback just happened and that it connected. Not saying that its not a viable strategy, it is, but its far from money.McNum said:I'm aware of that, yes. Of course, the other hurdle here is to actually land that snapback. It's not foolproof, of course, but Dark Phoenix is extremely dangerous, so it's worth a shot.
Actually, SSF4 had a TON of balance tweaks other than Sagat being nerfed, and it DID 'fix' the game. Trade DP into Ultra? GTFO. Characters with almost useless ultras? Here's a new one which provides utility. Weak character? Get buffed. Hit too hard? Get nerfed. Sagat was just the most extreme case, but the whole game was overhauled for the better and was definitely 'fixed'.DY_nasty said:When was SSF4 balanced? Just because Sagat isn't tear-farming anymore, it doesn't mean that it suddenly got 'fixed'...
