Can't they do both? It is obviously faster than TvC, Wong said he thought it may be faster than MvC2, but I'm sure he has no idea what he is talking about.AzureJericho said:Streamers putting Threi & TvC on blast instead of playing some more Gotdamned Mahvel... smh
Lack of modes is a legitimate complaint. The game is pretty barebones.Kuugrr said:Sounds like it. Somebody else in the thread said they also mentioned a lack of different modes and stuff like that, but no one's directly quoted what they said. Just paraphrasing.
Still sounds like some bullshit.
But they're both 60fps!BamYouHaveAids said:It is obviously faster than TvC
Slower, yeah. But it's still a fun game.Threi said:

Oooh, did Morrigan just do her spinning ankle blades, pause, and continue the combo with crouching A? Morrigan got links!

Nah, just ignorance. I didn't know what you meant by HRAP 'till I googled it. This is why I was apprehensive about writing that thing up since I'm still fairly new to the scene, but I keep seeing people coming into the thread and ask whether they need/should use an arcade stick for this game so thought that I might as well since no one else was. I'll PM Spindashing about the HRAP pic.Hitokage said:I call favoritism. Put up a pic of a TE or HRAP, please.

Marvel on the other hand, doing random full screen shinkuu hadoken/proton cannon to defeat the CPU, you might already think you're a master at it. =P
But I think that might be for Marvel's benefit actually. People don't look for fighters that are deep. They look for flashy stuff and characters involved. Look at mortal kombat.
BlazBlue does this best. It just lets you pick from a list. I have no idea why other fighters don't do it.Aske said:Hey. Really silly question, but do we know which button to hit on character select for default costume? I already hate Sentinel just from watching this stream.n3ss said:You should be VERY worried about Sent, and a few others.

All of the high-damage combos I've seen so far look pretty damn easy (in comparison to a lot of stuff from this game's predecessors), and some of them don't even require X-Factor or significant meter investment. And the problem people have with high-damage output overall is that basic combos will wreck shit so hard that nobody will be encouraged to take their skills to the next level to earn their damage.El Sloth said:I see a lot of people worrying themselves over potential 100% combos, x-factor, and Sentinel so I just wanna say this to you guys: Just because people can pull these things off in training mode does not they can do the same in an actual match. I'm just saying, dude seems godlike Day 1, but it's very possible that there is an assist or character that could be a great anti-sent and we just haven't realized yetn3ss said:You should be VERY worried about Sent, and a few others.
Okay, I think I understand better what people are apprehensive about. But I would still argue that this point in the game's life (what is this, like, day -5?) I don't think it's something that people should be that worried about. Especially not until we all have the game in our hands. Then you guys can all call me out for being an optimistic fool and not having the appropriate amount of fear/respect for 50Sent. ;pSixfortyfive said:All of the high-damage combos I've seen so far look pretty damn easy (in comparison to a lot of stuff from this game's predecessors), and some of them don't even require X-Factor or significant meter investment. I honestly kind of feel this way myself, but not to the point where it's a significant negative overall.
Scrub here, but half the Sent combos I've seen involve him jumping across the screen and hitting with a slow kick. Anti-air would shut that down easily, right?El Sloth said:I'm just saying, dude seems godlike Day 1, but it's very possible that there is an assist or character that could be a great anti-sent and we just haven't realized yet

Fake Edit: And homophobic, I guess.
Actually, I'd say that 100% combos are more concerning on day -5 than after release, personally.El Sloth said:But I would still argue that this point in the game's life (what is this, like, day -5?) I don't think it's something that people should be that worried about.

I wouldn't be able to honestly say since I haven't seen those vids myself(nor have the game in my hands), but from the sounds of it the Jam Session assist sounds like it would shut that nonsense down pretty quick.Billychu said:Scrub here, but half the Sent combos I've seen involve him jumping across the screen and hitting with a slow kick.
