Are there any reviews out for the PDP Fightpad? I'm curious to see what the community thinks of it.
I don't think there are any reviews of it yet, but there is the video in the first post with the maker going over their design decisions and showing the fightpad off.

Edit: This video.

If you can have the game early and you are not indulging you are wasting the URLAY factor.

No, there aren't.

Standard of the genre is a pretty loaded idea to begin with. What else is a standard? Roster balance? Size? Tekken bowling-like mini games? Maybe if triple A fighters were a bi-monthy thing like FPS are, then yeah, I would agree.

What this really is, is a ssf4-mvc3 comparison.

No, its really not a comparison between these two. Other fighters have spectating as well. Even Dead or Alive 4 had this. Fighting against ghost players? Been done by Sega and Namco. Capcom is behind the times on that too. Proper tutorials? Lets not even go there.

The fact that fighters AREN'T a bi-monthly thing is all the mode reason for us to make noise about what we should expect in these games.

I do have the sneaking suspicion that if this were another company's fighting game, we wouldn't be as lenient as we are now. That's only natural I guess.

So you guys agree that it feels more like TvC than MvC2? I sure think it does. Not a bad thing at all. I think this has the potential to be quite casual friendly, but still have an insane amount of depth and longevity with the hardcore community.
Wait, so is it hard to do hadokens in MvC3 or not? I thought it was easier to pull off moves like hadokens in this game than it was in SF4. :-\

I'd reccomend checking out iplawinner.com whenever they get their guide for MvC3 up. Their SSIV character guides are great and really helped me out when was starting out.

It may be a while before their done writing it up though. Until then I'd recommend reading through the OP so you understand the basic stuff and commonly used terms.

Also, you should check out SRK and their forums.

Let's be realistic. Do you think anyone dinged vanilla sf4 for lacking features dead or alive 4 had?

All of this is true.

But there is no substitute for ___ vs Capcom. "Voting with my wallet" is not even in the realm of possibility.

Well, except for DLC I guess. But I ain't buying Jill/Shuma anyway. :3

The PS3 version has a mandatory install of just under 1.5 GB. The 360 version is around 7.5 GB I think. Not entirely sure on that one.

Since all yall fools got it early can we get some online play impressions.

Speaking of online, in traning mode, there is lag option. In other words, you can simulate an online game and add artificial lag to the match. There is no lag by default, obviously, since you're playing locally. Pretty neat I guess.

Damn, probably smaller than that. I think the max for 1 disc I've seen is like 6.9 GB.

Why do I feel like the actual amount of content is probably around 5GB in assets.

I told you dudes. Went through this same shit with SF4, shouldn't get your hopes up.
I'm hard headed. Also the SE was gone everywhere because i was procrasturbating on pre-ordering.

If we're talking about health of the genre, then I think supporting other fighting games that are different in play style is better than getting butthurt about spectator mode.

Looking at how all FPS are starting to bite off each other and become more similar, using a "this is not ssfiv" means of rating games is something we should want to stay away from.

if you have a hard time doing hadokens in sf4, you are in trouble...
Hadokens were one of the moves in SF4 I was able to pull off with relative consistency, but I was still under the impression MvC3 was even more flexible in terms of input and timing for such moves...? Because as a Cammy player in SF4, pulling off a lot of her moves (the corkscrew kick, the upward 45-degree kick) were taxing on the hands (DualShock here) and I often accidentally pulled off one when trying to do the other. So I'm hoping MvC3 is a bit more flexible, but if even hadokens are harder to pull off, that makes this game even harder than SF4! So much for it being casual friendly. :(

I thought you were saying is the input different.

Any difference in the 360 and PS3 versions? I'm not sure which to get but I do have a fight pad for the ps3 that I bought for SSF4. I'm not going to get a stick for this so I guess it just comes down to what feels right for a controller?
