One. What type of mechanics do you want to see in the game to make it more complicated? Why would you want it to become more complicated?

Two. Push block isn't more because it's ALWAYS been this way. It's used exactly for all intents and purposes to PUSH your opponent away to give yourself breathing space from pressure. Nothing more and nothing less, Negating some chip damage is a bonus.

Three. It's an intentional design to NOT make it as execution heavy as said games. What do you want from it?

It's clear your lack of Marvel experience shows.

No one ever built teams around chip damage!!!

Oh, what I wasn't getting if you gotta jump INSTANTLY too.

Hold upforward right after to follow them up, yeah. If you just mash an S out and don't follow it up right away they'll probably recover.

Me and a few friends just got the game today..insanely fun with the mic on and a few buddies. Once again I have to applaud capcom for including a full, useful and colorful manual with the game. Very rarely do we ever get manuals as thick and detailed as the mvc3 one. The production values, polish, and graphics are also extremely nice. My only negative so far is the lack of spectator mode like wtf capcom. Hope it's patched in later

Question about ranked matches, since I haven't been able to find enough decent ones to judge: aside from win/loss counter, do losses impact my rank and experience bar, as in pose a risk of getting de-leveled?

Thinking I might wanna switch out She-Hulk, she's so horrible.

-Crappy crappy mobility
-Combo potential blooows
-All 3 supers blowwww.
-Runners stance suuucks
-shitty jumping moves (Come on, you could of given me a zangief dropkick atleast)

Only thing she really gots going is that slide of hers which even is an awesome kara to her throws.

Sorry bro, but you're completely off about She Hulk. She takes some work, but the payoff is worth it. I've only just started getting comfortable with her OTG loop, and it's a ton of fun trying to find new combos with her Runner's Stance options. My only complaint is the increased difficulty doing the OTG stuff online, but that can't be blamed on the character. She also needs some good cover if you want to break through good zoning.

By the way, if anyone has She Hulk advice, I'd love to hear it. I've learned the tragic videos on Youtube (mastered them in offline conditions), and also come up with a personal one that's amusing to pull off.

I dunno if there's a risk of dropping ranks, but I think there's branches. I think depending on how much you win or lose (and also the rank of your opponent who you beat/lose to) affects which rank you get after Amateur/Fighter, Scout/Ranger/Lord.

A quick look at the manual says there's 5 ranks based on your playstyle. Dunno what they are.

and thanks to the person that added me!
Twas' me, electricity in my house is going crazy and knocking out my internet. So I can't play online at the moment unless I want to get disconnected.

"Question: what does "BnB" mean?"

Bread and Butter. Your main go to combos.

Gotcha'. I think Zero is the only character so far that qualifies for a having 'BnB' combo of all the characters I use. It's literally the only combo I use... but it works in 99% time.

So what's the opinion on spencer? Playing around with him in training seems like he's really limited to what he can do. Feels like capcom made sure you couldn't do crazy shenanigans with the chain.

Oh, branching ranks depending on playstyle, now that's interesting. It also gives a different meaning to being matched against "same rank" people, as it looks like the skill level isn't the only parameter in deciding ranks.

Thanks.

BIIIOOOONNNIICCC AAAAAAAARRRRRRMMMM!

That hyper is ridiculously good at punishing mistakes. Seems like it just leashes instantly. It's crazy. Early today, I had a pixel of life left with just Spencer on my team. This dude does a 3 person hyper and I react with a BIIOOOONICC AAARRRRM while in X Factor and his entire team died lol.

I also find his swinging game fun to troll people with when they use their xfactor. You can tell they get all pissed when they can't catch him lol

Yeah he can be interesting to face, got grabbed a bunch of times playing against him, and bionic arm punished a lot of my moves... deceptively good char!

Spencer seems ok, if only that he's good against Sentinel and BIONIC ARM is one of the best assist punishes in the game.

Ricky P vs Warren (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4Yapt1k3sA&feature=player_detailpage#t=1308s) Ricky P loses 0-2 but you can see that he almost came back in Match 2 with X factor and Bionic Arm.

what is OTG?

off the ground, a move that launches someone off the ground, e.g. sentinel's rocket punch

YoungHav said:

Off the ground, something that hits up to let you keep a combo going. Simple example is Deadpool's Katana-rama, after you knock them to the ground you can do that move to juggle them up into his hyper.

The 5 ranks are Scout, Lord, Judge, Ranger, and I haven't seen the 5th one at all.

It would seem like they're based on your highest "fighting style" stat:

Stability - Lord
Basic Offense - Ranger
Basic Defense - Guard
Advanced Offense - Scout
Advanced Defense - Judge

I assume the 5th is for people who have basic defense the highest (Surprisingly no one!).

Edit: Found one. It's Guard.

I love all the fresh
scrub
blood in this thread :D
SF4 thread is only for the hardcore at this point. Hopefully my 360 version vom zzavi will arrive today.

I'm not liking the look of those at all! D:

Hopefully they're pretty character specific. Looks like it'd be tough to set up in a match at least.
Eh, I'm not very concerned about anything that uses that much meter. Most of those combos were awesome, but very meter consuming.

Hulk's missions are so easy. Zero's are making me flip shit (6?), mostly because I can't seem to link a whateversaberprojectile to his slash super, after his bnb(x2?). I know it doesn't mention it in the mission itself, but is it any easier mid screen? That combo pushes the guy 40% of the playing field, so it's annoying to reset him constantly, especially if it's irrelevant.

EDIT: Just realized you can reset missions by pressing back then start.

Okey, ....okey.. *Breathe*

I'm starting to freak out, I can't for the life of me ( been sitting an hour with the first fucking mission of its kind ) do an Air S combo finisher.

I do all the L,M,H,S, Air : L,M,H, SSSSSSSSSSSSS

But that air S AAAAAAALWAYS misses, and I can't figure out why, I even toss in sjcs after my ground launcher just to get enough fucking height...

zzzz

can someone please point out what I'm doing wrong? Ryus mission no 5 is the prime example of this kind of shit that I'm failing to do.

RAAAAAAGE

Could be an issue with the timing of the chain you're doing, try starting it earlier or later. Or holding up vs upforward. And be sure you're doing the right chain, in the air you can chain 2 L or M attacks in a row so make sure you're not supposed to be doing M M H S instead of LMHS or whatever.

71% done with Mission Mode.

Amaterasu weapon change combos currently making me hate my life.

Yeah, these are the hardest combos I've seen so far in mission mode. I'm already 90% done and got the 320 achievement, so I probably won't bother with them any time soon.

This. Even if LMHS > LMHS is advertised as being universal, it typically isn't. On top of some like deadpool or viewtiful joe that seem to need 2H to connect on the ground, if you do L in midair it seems to make weird shit happen for a lot of characters.

well I just did the combo, all 10 hits of the LMH,f.H,S,LMHS but the mong-game didn't accept it.

Whoever said it was easier than the SSF4 trials must've been trolling me :( because ryus ( and everybody elses ) basic combos makes fuertes RSF trial look like childsplay.

Do upfoward after the first S if you aren't, you might be jumping straight up.

thanks that was it. So regular jump , superjump upward won't let me do the combo why? Good thing I crawled to gaf, never would've guessed that otherwise :(

They seem easier to me having never played a marvel game before but i'm not worried/bothered about completed them like I did with the original SF4. Some of the combo's might be useful in an actual match but most probably won't be so I just check on SRK for the best BnB's for the characters I like.

in that combo you have to use L. he's just not holding up-froward.

but I did manage to fully connect all the 10 hits with just upwardjump, which needless to say didn't help my confusion.

missed the character he was talking about :/

most people's air combos just go crazy when you try and include j.l though

Stick or pad, Corky?

Pad, regular 360 one, but I guess I'm just semi-salty over the fact that something like an non-angled jump after launcher made a seemingly easy combo impossible.

Anywho :D

Back to the happy.

Also best intro ever. Speaking of which, where the hell was Haggar? I remember seing somekind of cinematic where him and felicia fucked shit up.

There are more videos. You just have to unlock them. I think the one you're talking about is the 4th "opening" video. You can see them in the gallery after you unlock them.

I absolutely don't remember how you unlock them though, haha.

Eurogaf, has anyones steelbook from gamestation already been shipped? Never ordered from them, and I'm getting a little nervous :/
