T- MINUS 3 hours 37 minutes until HYPE BLOW OUT!!!!
Dahbomb said:That's the best part about the save system. It encourages proper time management and makes saves valuable/strategic. You gotta think before you press that save button.
Dead Rising 2 is less stringent about it though.
I didn't realize that you could equip civilians with weapons at first(probably forgot) so I did that this time for the Japanese folks at the bookstore all the way at the beginning of the game. Those piece of shit convicts keep killing me every time I try to escort the Japanese dudes across the park to safety.Dahbomb said:That's the best part about the save system. What is this BS factor?Jintor said:I really enjoyed Dead Rising 2 despite the bullshit factor

Oh, okay thanks. (Isn't it close to midnight around there, though...?)Chindogg said:Niitsuma said around Noon JST.
You can kill them if you are pro enough. You can also unlock alternate paths that don't require you to go through the park. Those piece of shit convicts keep killing me every time I try to escort the Japanese dudes across the park to safety.
It's a survival game with sandbox elements. You have to survive until the timer is off and you have to save as many people as you can within the time limit. It's a really interesting system where everyone is going to have a unique experience first time around because you may be unable to do particular missions/escorts in sacrifice for other missions.Dead Rising's system is fine for an RPG, a survival horror game or a strategy game, but not for something like this where everything seems to be at your fingertips(the game is more or less sandbox killing sim from what I can tell).
No but your stats are buffed. So whatever abilities/stats upgrade you got if you restart you will start off really buff. Essentially you will be very buff starting out and replaying you will be able to get more stuff faster and level up more. I had to restart 3 times to beat the game. Yeah it sucks but hey it's better than being stuck at one spot and be bogged down by the timer. When you save and quit does it have any effect on the civilians? Do I keep my weapons and stuff?

Pretty much this. Most of the higher execution characters are on the lower end of the list. (Although to be fair, with the sometimes sketchy netcode, I probably wouldn't choose someone like Viper or Felicia, either.)Dahbomb said:WTF double post with shitty net.
Also holy shit at Iron Man, Spider Man and Thor being that low. This is the point I made a while back that ease of play has a lot to do with picks along with how good the character is. Check out how high Ryu, Hulk and Deadpool are. Surprised to see Wolverine that low.
Hsien-Ko had a pretty massive following in the beginning when the game launched. I was completely unaware of it at first, but skimming through the SRK threads revealed tons of folks who used her and then dumped her when they saw the road that lied ahead of them. I bet she would've been top twenty or even top fifteen under different circumstances.Dahbomb said:WTF double post with shitty net.

I mean yeah Dante has a lot of hard stuff but he also has a lot of easy stuff too and he's THE main DMC character to pick.
Vergil = 2nd only to Dante in DMC popularity + Easy to play + Top tier juice = #1 online pick most likely for UMVC3
You mean today?Tiger uppercut said:Nova & P.W. tomorrow, I'm calling it!1!
It's hard to play as a giant head with a metal diaper lol.Dahbomb said:Spider Man IS very interesting and plays like his comic book counterpart but he is high execution and difficult to get to grips with. He's also fairly good and underrepresented both online and in tournaments.
MODOK the only non-DLC character below DLC characters. That's just pathetic. Dude is a massive eye sore to many.
Yeah DS characters have a decent following, check out where Morrigan is she is fairly high despite her short comings. Also having an assist that is good is also useful. I have heard Morrigan meter building assist gets used a lot online for cheesy gimmick teams. It's why Dante is #1 and Akuma is #2... great assists and great characters on point with solid X Factor bonuses/comeback potential. It helps that the characters fulfill the "bad ass" criteria on a team as well.Hsien-Ko had a pretty massive following in the beginning when the game launched. Also, that list almost perfectly describes my online experience. -_-

Because you can make a bunch of random shit for Wright and people would believe it.There seems to be a awful lot of rumours of Phoenix wrights playstyle from 4chan, why not some of Nova or Frank west
scytheavatar said:I spoke to Ultradavid who told me Phoenix Wright has an assist where he comes in and walks forwards, creating a moving wall for the player.
He also told me that he's kinda like Zappa from GG. Randomness in some moves but controllable to a degree. He also has the soul system from Zappa where when he meets certain requirements, he is able to go into "I kill everything" mode with insane range on his normals, insane damage, etc.
From someone in /v/. It of course will be complete nonsense but is it wrong for me to hope that it's true?
You and Karsticles.Nyoro SF said:Dahbomb calling me out.
She was a very popular character starting even in MvC1. She'd be a shoe in for top 10 with her beam, her ground dash and her dive kick. I'd dare say even top seven.Dahbomb said:Sentinel is pretty much figured out even by the average player. His usage dropped a lot after the health nerf.

Killa Sasa said:Try LMH, L Web Swing, jM, jM, S. You can also do jH, jS instead of those 3. It's harder to continue it on the ground afterwards starting with sM, so you can use sLMH instead iirc.
On the ground, most are doing L swing , jH, jS as their starter.
I myself prefer LMH, H Spider Sting - even if blocked, Spider Bite (the followup to sting) has one ground recovery frame, and does pretty slick block stun, so I don't mind it. If I connect on the Spider Bite, I follow up with sH, M Swing, jM, jM, jS, sM, S into air series of jMMH, H Swing, (Maximum Parker or jMMS). I prefer this just because it seems to be more forgiving in terms of being hitstun deteriorated by assists - it still works even with a full Unibeam assist at the start (granted, you gotta do the Swing cancels quick).
Hope that helps.
That, plus there's little reason to expect Frank to be radically different from how he played in TvC, adjustments following the shift to Marvel gameplay aside.Dahbomb said:Because you can make a bunch of random shit for Wright and people would believe it.
LMAO @ Wright the human wall.

That's what the tweet said. Morning for NY, afternoon for EU and Midnight for Japan. 2 hours until Midnight for Japan. So are we certain that we are supposed to get reveals at midnight? Not sure.
