Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster |DT2| oh dear...

I just finished another rousing session of Arcade Mode in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

It hurts us in the matter that we aren't getting a new MvC probably never just because this one bombs. And yes, its bombs because doesn't seem to be a good product overall, but the franchise lovers are the only ones we are losing in this
Well yeah, but the Marvel (Entertainment) brand isn't damaged at all, that's what they were saying.
Hopefully this helps after hearing Firebrand is officially returning.

Neat.

EDIT: Man, Gamora sounds bored.

This is why marvel was trying to erase them for years. Idiots shouldn't have signed a deal with some of their most popular characters that is contingent on not making movies for a set number of years.

To be fair, Marvel was in dire straights at the time. If they hadn't made all of those movie deals, they might not be around today.

Chromatic Abberation setting is set to high = Graphics are 8/10
Art is bad but patch fix on the way, so benefit of the doubt = Art/Presentation 7/10
30ish characters, has Arcade mode, online lobbies and story mode = Content 8/10
Stones, Tag, 2v2, auto combos for noobs, it's still Mahvel baybee = Game play 9/10
Voice acting from the cartoons, orchestral "epic" theme music, quality sound design = Sound 8/10

Final Verdict = 8/10

This is how they will review the game.

Pretty funny because it's usually accurate, but I think the copy paste of the MVC3 characters might hurt the game. (even if they were retooled they'll casually feel like they're copy paste)

The games also comes after Injustice 2 so the story will have to be very convincing.

I feel like fighting games can get away with "bad" story if they're "fun" and crazy, even if short and not super cinematic. So that's what I hope the game has. The demo was a disaster but it's just a demo.

They honestly chose the worst part of the story to demo.

Edit: Watching more matches from Max, they seem to have fixed some of the Hyper combo animation issues. Not all, mind, and they're still lacking in impact due to the lack of certain effects, but at least they fixed up some carry over animations to fit the new Hyper flash.

They probably would have gone bankrupt and had their assets sold off to the highest bidder and we'd have an even more fragmented Marvel Cinematic Universe. That or Sony/FOX would have just bought every IP at bargain basement prices: Disney Studios was practically dead back then save their distribution deal with PIXAR. So yeah I'm a lot happier it worked out this way even if it makes for a slightly fragmented MCU...X-Men and Avengers in the same universe always seemed weird to me: why the racism just toward mutants and not to magical people? Why didn't the Avengers try and stop the Sentinels and Genosha? Astroid M?...fucking fine.

Fantastic Four needs to be in the MCU though.

Actually, that's false. Marvel were not in danger of bankruptcy when they licensed the movie rights of their characters. They just did.

Completely different pieces of music. They sounds like generic "cinematic score". Even themes that were introduced last game are replaced.

Garbage tier change. Marvel doesn't give a single fuck about legacy. Marvel 3's ost wasn't all that great because of how synthy it was but it did keep the old tunes. This is some garbage NRS background noise shit coming from the marvel side that's about anti-hype as it gets.

Why do people dislike Firebrand so much?

Firebrand was already seen as a bit of an odd pick back in the lead-up to UMvC3, when the thirst for X was real. For MvCI his inclusion seems even weirder due to some of the cuts on the Capcom side (Wesker, Joe, Ammy, Vergil) and general unease about the size of the roster. So Firebrand becomes a bit of a pariah in that respect, the "they invited pac-man?" character.

Just got back home, going to put these in bags and boards and file them away. Didn't realize the Utron/Sigma cover had come in as well.

This is going to be the first time I ever buy an entire set of a monthly variant theme from Marvel. I'm not sure why I'm even doing this because I'm not particularly looking forward to the game.

Those are genuinely nice though. I might go do the same.

Why do people dislike Firebrand so much?

Because he wasnt viable at high level play without a gimmic team built around him.
Since much of the prior top tier is missing, maybe he's more viable. He was pretty fun to play with. Who knows

that unblockable setup was so fucking NASTY tho :3

I need to look it up on youtube lol

LOL. That's the perfect summation of his inclusion here.

The Ultron / Sigma cover is wack. Rest are real nice, tho.

I recommend that if anyone wants to own these variants that they take a trip to their local comic shop tomorrow when they come out. There's pretty limited quantities (Diamond Comics let you order a certain number based on how many of the actual cover you order), and even though we're a pretty big shop we only got in about 5-6 of each.

They're cover price (some variants are worth more money) and there are some people who just buy variants for speculation so they may be gone right away. You'll probably be able to get them on eBay for cheap but it's cheaper to just buy them off the rack.

It's MVC, everyone screams the name of every move

technically this is only accurate for SF/VSAV chars and marvel side chars

almost no other capcom side char says the correct move names in marvel 3. this is something that's changed in MVCI which is how you get chris redfield saying 'shotgun' or 'hand grenade' when he does the moves instead of 'eat lead' or 'suck it'

this also leads to hawkeye shouting "gimet" which is really something else

there's a lot of unused voice clips for capcom side chars shouting move names in 3 and most of them sound pretty bad (mvci tier, i guess?)

I assume it wont work without assists

blockstring with dante into million dollars, tag into firebrand on startup, charge demon missile

more likely nobody will have unblockable moves though. i didn't see it myself but supposedly they took out the unblockable charged st.H on hulk so i can't imagine they'd leave it in for firebrand as well

I assume it wont work without assists

Why?

In Marvel 3 I could do a particular air series with Firebrand into hard knockdown and call Dormammu assist while I charged his unblockable - guaranteed.

In MvCi I would be able to do a combo with Dormammu, Dark Hole and tag into Firebrand for the same effect.

Stalking Flare -> tag -> get rekt.

Etc. If he has the unblockable, expect to see it enough to be sick of it. I'd rather they got rid of it, though.
