Like for me. It doesn't even to be Venom and Monster Hunter. The game just needs newcomers for the base roster badly to help the roster out a bit.

They've got an opportunity to help turn around the momentum over the next 45 days. Here's hoping they do it cause I want more people to enjoy what looks to be pretty solid gameplay but it's really up to them now.
Character, modes and or stage surprises would be even good. Hopefully they look back at worked for 3 and U3 to push themselves respectively.
A very good lesson in how quickly marketing and product decisions, good or bad, can snowball. There's obviously good things in this product -- it's time to highlight something aside from story mode and accessibility. Keep those coming sure but add beside it.
Full disclosure - I'm expecting to have a great time with the game. It looks really fun and marvel is my favourite dumb fiction universe so I'm in like Flynn.

It would be really scummy to have story elements that use the simbiot and hunter world and have them both be DLC characters. I mean that's embarrassing.

I know I'm asking too much from people in this thread but please do not give in hysteria right now and just wait it out until August 22 to see it for ourselves first before we overreact about something again.

how about this? I will expect a 30 character roster, Hunter and Venom to be DLC, and if it turns out im wrong, great, thats awesome. Why the fuck, with all this information, would I still be hopeful only to get crushed? The reverse is a much better alternative.
And im one of the biggest defenders of the game (well not even a defender of the game, more like im anti shit posting)

Well, I just don't want to jump into conclusion anymore, not after what happened with Ryce's leaked list. I just rather to wait until they said that's it for base roster then I would complains afterward.
I don't disagree with everyone here. If 30 characters is finalized for sure thing, then the roster is reallllly bad in term of many things, like 5 newcomers and 4 female characters.
The initial deluge of info stated that it'd have Arcade, Story, Versus, Training, Mission, Online and Collection modes.

Solid gameplay isnt enough nowadays. Theres lots of games with solid gameplay. Games need to be the complete package with how crowded and competitive the market is.
btw I fully agree with Munch's "Jedah planned to be the final big surprise" and the Evo reveal ws a rushed half assed atempt to calm the fires.

Even if the Jedah presentation WAS cobbled together at the last moment and wasn't part of the original plan, then Jedah was supposed to be shown for the first time.... in a cover.

Sure, especially when you have your wish list without any female characters. I get it if you don't want any female characters but you have to understand that some people actually like to play as female characters.

All I remember is Frank as a character (when we were missing one) and MVC:I as an exclusive (Which was a mistake that MVC3 had times exclusivity)
You are getting this wrong. Im not complaining about female characters. Im saying is that, as long the characters are fun and unique to play, i don't care if the game its full of males, or in this case, of females.
I agree with you, anyways.
Incredibly disappointing to see how lacking in marketing this game has been after SFV, Capcom should've learned, but I guess that was too much to ask for. Hardly any character reveal trailers, disappointing roster that even adds DLC characters that should be part of the base game as insult to injury... It's hard to feel any hype for this game to be honest, and it sucks to know it might be a while till we see a new FG from Capcom after this.

The trailers were a case of damned if they do, damned if they don't: they just don't have a roster that would lend itself to more character reveal trailers. If they did individual trailers for characters, people would have realized even earlier on that they had very few new characters or characters that aren't mostly brought from Marvel 3.

Wesker? That obscure RE character? Do people even remember him? We have had several RE games since that character was killed and he is no longer important to the series at all anymore. Why would he come back?

He's one of the most popular character from last game, betting he'll be DLC for sure with a slightly reworked moveset since anyone can teleport with one of the stones.
Watch Im calling it now. Game will have a lackluster launch with middling reviews and sales which fall short of the sales target. The season pass will get drowned out during the holiday season when more popular games make bigger splashes.
Year 2 will be all fan favourites while Capcom tries to use the "we're listening to our fans and are dedicated to supporting the game". This will most likely be when the Xmen return assuming they're coming back.
