Hmm, I can get 6500 with X in a single combo, 6300 more consistently, with 1 bar regardless of Gem used. Not sure how good or not that is damage-wise compared to everyone. What's the averages been so far?

6500 is very good in this game so far. It's generally been topping at around 6000-7000 for the cast for 1 meter solo.

So based on the story it seems kinda obvious Hunter is going to be a Great Sword user but I'm wondering whether they'll try to do her like Amaterasu and allow her to switch her weapons to yield different combos.

Seems kinda like an obvious concept given how many weapons and play styles there exist in the series.

I was hoping this would be the case. Hopefully MH has some neat "stance change" mechanics vs being a heavy sword fighter like Kaijin no Soki.

The reviews below 8's make no sense to me. Lots of fun, great visuals (though weird character faces), can't believe I almost cancelled my preorder.

I am a LONGTIME street fighter player (since 90's)

The game play is very good and the game has very good long term competitive potential.

The netcode is also surprisingly good as is the whole online experience for a Capcom fighter.

Presentation is still wack and the story mode is probably a giant waste of money considering it siphoned so much budget yet still isn't actually good.

I think the reviews are probably still on point although combined with the solid netcode so far I would say it's much closer to a 8 than a 7.

This is a good starting point.

Gameplay is solid (I still like MVC3's LMHS control scheme more), however, I don't think the whole package is worth what they're asking for. Perhaps base version at $40 would be a reasonable max value--having played through the game for several hours.

I'm enjoying this Story Mode. It's the right amount of campiness and there are good, cheeky lines in here. Rocket is great.

Cap.. not so much. Terrible VA and he just looks bad.

But overall, this is dumb fun in all the right ways.

4 wins > lag match (really bad rollover lag) > 4 wins (bad rollover lag) > 5 wins.

I'm glad that I got that over with so I can go back to lab and work on my combo.

Seems like you intend to play it somewhat seriously, if so, I'd buy it.

If you're coming in from a more casual perspective, then I can see having the ambivalence. But the quality is there in what counts the most--the fighting system. It feels good to play.

Edit: Amending the "feels good" part. It feels relatively good--as a pad player, LMHS was so much easier on my hand.

Watch the demonstration, it's more lenient than you're thinking. As soon as you press cr.HP, hold up, and then input the buttons as fast as you can. If they drop out, slow it down just a bit.

It gets 6844 with Armor of Light for the close version, the more consistent one does 6485 with AoL. It's also not gem specific either which is nice.

PP+back, downback, PP+back, downback, etc. Ride the gates and avoid the down input.

Got to try for a bit it is kind of awkward to get the timing down but its easy now. Thought the controls were going to be harder to get used to but its much simplier than I thought.

Yup, Jedah is definitely the character for me. His flight is hella fast reminds me of Sentinel without extremely good hitboxes but hp and j.f+lp are good enough. Dante is mostly different but was easy to get used to except for the inputs for reverb shock and hammer.

This game is definitely fun. Shame about the visuals.

Looking at the trophies currently. It's surprising that the story completion is so low compared to other trophies that require online and such. I wonder if that'll change by the end of the week. But if it doesn't. Definitely means that their gamble didn't necessarily pay off and it was once again mainly FGC that answered the call for capcom.

There are way more characters than just those two with delayed projectiles. Not to mention everyone can use Reality stone if need be.

5 battles = 3rd colors
10 battles = 4th colors

I played 4 online matches with Hawkeye, then Arcade mode with Hawkeye to net me both colors.

Ahh ok cool. So that's why people would drop out of the last match and still get colors.
Also confirms you can't cheat the "beat arcade mode with all characters" by just quitting at the last boss.

I played alot of MvC3 and UMvC3 so a new MvC game should have hyped me up but the demo they released actually turned me off, i didn't really like the feel of it. Although we were only allowed to play a portion of the story with enemies that would die in a couple of hits, still it didn't really click with me.

But this game man... it just feels right, yeah, yeah some awkward animations and goofy looking faces here and there i get it, some people are super sensitive to that. a shame tho the gameplay is awesome.

sooooooo is it just me or are the fly cancel combo's from ultron and captain marvel really easy to do in MVC:I? i can just mash it and get away with it, not that im complaining, i love it haha. was kinda hoping for some Magneto style air combo's lol.

I see Trophies for the PS4 version, but Xbox has it listed as 0/0 on True achievements and Xbox Achievements...as well as the Xbox game hub.

You don't release on Xbox and Steam at midnight, but it goes live on the PS4 at midnight... And no Xbox Achievements... On top of Collector's Edition infinity Easter eggs...

I need midscreen combos for Hulk and Nemesis. Corner's no problem, I have a reset with Hulk into Nemesis and a good, not great tag combo of Nemesis into Hulk for high 6000's .... but it's all corner shit.
