Is japan, this was never marvel land.
Now, if this happens in the USA, the game would have been a big bomba
Previous installments sold clearly better in Japan

Capcom pulling their hairs for not having Marvel on Switch. Shit was probably easy as fuck to port.
Oh GodIke Perlmutter is just a bitter old fuck and a notorious penny pincher. So much to the point where Kevin Feige, the ringleader of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, actually went up to Bob Iger and requested to break Marvel Studios out of Perlmutter's control, turning them into a subsidiary of Walt Disney Pictures. That's all you really need to know about the guy.
Now Ike only has control over the MCU TV shows, and look where that is going.

Do we know if it's bombed in the US?
The best part is when you finish Story Mode or Arcade, there is a credits roll that seems to go on for an eternity.
And all you can think is "What did all these people do?".
It may not be marvel land, but we also know the series doesn't usually perform this poorly. Is japan, this was never marvel land.

Do you remember SFV's launch
It was literally like three threads a day of "SFV is selling really bad," "Why does SFV suck," "Will Capcom learn from SFV's mistakes" for like 2-3 weeks
People have their claws out for Capcom these days and I can't really blame them
We don't know yet. But if Steam sales are anything to go by, very likely yes.Do we know if it's bombed in the US?
Oh God
I preferred Marvel Netflix to the MCU movies up until Iron Fist (yeesh). This news scares and upsets me greatly.
Japan doesn't like Avengers.
Have you guys seen MvC2? That game is *hideous.*
Is Pokkén actually any good?
Now looking back at it, SFV, didn't bomb at all it's just people were overestimating it, and funny how when Tekken 7 got almost the same numbers despite being on 3 systems, everyone was horray T7 is selling well despite it being a bigger franchise than SF.

If Capcom were trying to kill any hype people had for a new Marvel vs. Capcom release I don't think they could have done a better job.
You only have to watch one Marvel vs. Capcom 3 CG trailer to see that MvCI was only going to be a massive sales disappointment. I'm not even sure Capcom tried.
I wasn't. But pokemon selling isn't a huge surprise. It's a monster series.
yeah honestly the game literally looking like junk from an art style perspective really garnered a lot of negative reactions
I mean, it makes total sense. can't believe Capcom looked at their game and was like "yeah, this is fine"
People like Rocket. The ones that makes the most sense to replace is Dr. Strange, if anyone.
Tekken 7 had been released on arcades for years by that point. It was old news by the time it was released on consoles/PC.Now looking back at it, SFV, didn't bomb at all it's just people were overestimating it, and funny how when Tekken 7 got almost the same numbers despite being on 3 systems, everyone was horray T7 is selling well despite it being a bigger franchise than SF.
SF4 was the exception of the norm and everyone knows why, it's nothing to base the sales on, overall Tekken sold more than SF and the bigger franchise on consoles.SF5 significantly under performed compared to SF4.
T7 sold more than what its previous entry sold iirc.
T7 also has the vast majority of its profits come from the arcades. SF5 has no such luck.
SFV sold a decent amount worse than it would have if it hadn't been released in a barebones state. There was a lot of negativity surrounding it, too, which surely cut off whatever legs it would've had. Capcom's problem is they've been mismanaging some of their games.
I didnt care for it personally, but then again I dont play very many fighting games. People that are into the genre like it a lot apparently doe.Is Pokkén actually any good?
It would have sold just as terribly on the Switch. Platform choice isn't what killed this title; the game was getting eviscerated up to launch.
Everything about this game has been mismanaged to the nth degree.
It's baffling.
Utterly baffling.
I am honestly not certain how they could have tried harder. They gave this failure a massive push off of Mount Taygetus before it was out of thewombBeta.
The better game sold more.

As for the vast majority of fighting games born in arcades, yes: it's good.Is Pokkén actually any good?
I love Nintendo games but Pokken doesn't stand out much.
Man, DragonBall FighterZ really is going to replace Marvel isn't it?
So, would Capcom really drop this game after a season or two of DLC? They'd pretty much have to kill the series since it would be poisoned forever.
I don't really think that's true. I love Nintendo games but Pokken doesn't stand out much.
MVCI, while having issues, feels like a more fun game to play.
NahMan, DragonBall FighterZ really is going to replace Marvel isn't it?
Too many graphics whores bitching about how it looked.
Have you guys seen MvC2? That game is *hideous.* Mismatched sprites from various sources, incongruent and bizarre 3D backgrounds, loud garish colors, weird nu-jazz OST...

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it takes the spot at EVO as a long-term mainstay. Especially since ArcSys will be good to go with with adding more content as years go on.
Jawmuncher, your profile pics are always awesome, my dude.Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it takes the spot at EVO as a long-term mainstay. Especially since ArcSys will be good to go with with adding more content as years go on.
It'll depend on the profits they make for DLC.
If they're making profit with the character pass and costumes they'll keep going. If they do two seasons worth and are in the negative. it's dropped more than likely.
