More games need to add unlocked framerate modes, especially if they can get quality mode running decently in the 45 - 60 range but are unable to get it locked.
 
why the fuck would RT be 1440p/60 when the game runs at 1080p/60 without RT

Probably because people have incorrect expectations and sorta spoiled with the incredible optimization that went into a different Marvel game worked on a different engine that put out RT at 60fps at 1440p resolution meanwhile offering two other game modes (4K30RT and 4KNORT60)
 
In Canada this is going on sale at Gamestop for $40, perhaps it'll be on sale for cheaper in USA near or on Black Friday.

Hoping the trend adapts to something like 1800p with RT at 40fps, in my opinion its a fair and pretty nice compromise.

I think I still prefer the cleaner look given by the 4k over the sub 4k with RT on. I'm still not sold on RT given it's always about compromises and it adds (imho) so little that without a clear comparison probably you would not even notice differences. Yesterday I was switching back and forth but honestly the crisp look was more noticeable than a couple of shining lights/reflections here and there.
