In the history of the PlayStation channel, it ranks as the #5 software-based video (views) and what makes it even crazier is that it is only at 4 months compared to the leader Spider-Man 1 at 5 years. What also makes it crazy is knowing how many views this was siphoned off by other channels. IGN took 2.6m and .553m respectively and marvel entertainment took another 2 million. Gamespot took another .551k.

You say this and yet the sales for the original Spider Man game on PS4 is practically 1:1 with it's total trailer views. You probably should have checked yourself first.

And there is a reason. Non gamers look up Spiderman and Harry Potter stuff and give it a view (on accident), but non gamers most likely don't look up stuff like Starfield or Deathloop.

I wouldn't be surprised if they kill off Peter, or at the very least sideline him going forward (kinda like they did with Nate). Sony seems hellbent on removing all white male leads from their first party games. If the ending to God of War is any indication then Kratos is up next on the chopping block.

Funny enough, Sony hasn't milked Spiderman enough.

Super excited for this. I'm playing MM right now on performance/rt (PS5) and the game is gorgeous and smooth to play. The finishing moves and new powers are ace.

Sony was smart to strike a licensing deal with Disney/Marvel for Spider-man games (and also smart for wolverine).
