My college just canceled the remaining classes, started spring break early, and is extending spring break until the end of March. After that, all classes will be done remotely. All big events, such as graduation, are canceled.

Drove by one of gyms I go to and it was completely dead. Saw something on local news they are thinking of shutting gyms down since they are high risk 
. Went to store after it's middle of day so it wasn't packed but all toilet paper and paper towels were gone. Also weirdly all rice was gone and a fuck load of canned food. I grabbed the last 4 cans of Manwich sauces tho.

I'm glad businesses and schools are closing down stuff now. I think a lot of folks realize we can weather this as long as we're cautious.

Not surprising, the virus is all over Ontario now. My parents were at our local hospital earlier today for an appointment and the doctor told them while it hasn't been made public yet, its here in Northern Ontario as well not just Southern.

Unfortunately, lots of people travel back and fourth into Southern Ontario from the North. It was only a matter of time. Sucks for me because i was hoping i'd get called sometime in the next month or so for my gallbladder surgery. Looks like i might be waiting awhile
Personally, I'd rather be in the North vs. the South if it gets really bad.

That was one region of the world. Do it to too much of the world and you will start seeing deaths because of supply chain disruptions. That is what leaders have to balance.
What if there was an insulin shortage? You could easily kill more people than save from quarantine. Antibiotics?
Heck even simple stuff like not treating "minor" medical conditions can lead to late diagnosis of serious illness. How many more people die for every day a cancer diagnosis gets delayed?
You can go on and on. It is not as simple as people valuing money over the health of the elderly.

BACK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND. So trying to look at the upside of things, we have to see a decrease in the number of cases here soon....right? Everything is closed, pretty much most of the big events have been cancelled, no travel into the country from Europe,etc,etc. I know we are behind the times on testing but what kind of impact do you think we will start seeing in the states?
