It's end game and my crew STILL has nothing to new to say. FUCK.

They need to either pace crew dialogue better, or have more of it. Especially since they dont use banter like DA did.

- Damnnnn, ME2 is going to SAIL past ME1 in terms of length. Ive now played 11.5 hours, and Im still on Disc 1. For comparative purposes, I beat ME1 the first time in 16 hours. ME2 is looking to be probably a 30+ hour experience for me.
Yeah i'm starting to feel this too, around the same length. There is surprisingly quite a lot of content, i've been to busy with the loyalty missions. That i haven't even gotten around to recruiting thane.:D still have "Miranda" loyalty mission to start.

Or at least be more clear when they will never have anything else to say so I don't keep going back. Some of them are more obvious, others I'm having a harder time telling if they're done or not. Jack didn't have anything after becoming Loyal.

Two questions:
- where the fuck is Conrad "the fan" Verner in ME2??

You can find him on
Ilium

Though I think that part was screwed up for me.
I was nice to him in ME1 but he's acting like a total ass, says I put a gun to him

Can someone please explain how end game works?

All my characters are loyal, I went to Omega Relay right after finishing Legion's loyalty quest. I sent Tali as my tech specialist and she ends up dying. She and I are closing a door after it gets jammed, and she ends up getting shot in the face. I did the valve thing fast and correctly, so what gives?

Is this all random?

A bug maybe?
I did the same with Tali but she lived. I lost Jack & Jacob only because I didn't finish their quests

Yep! Its weird, because the ME2 universe certainly *feels* a lot smaller than the ME1 universe, and yet the content in ME2 is much richer and more robust.

Send Legion instead.

Hmm, I have 19 hours played and I still have 5 empty spots on my crew and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface when it comes to exploring the galaxy. This game is going to take me 60+ hours easily.

This same thing happened to me, except I stalled a bit getting the valve open in one instance, so I figured that's why. Guess not.

26 hours played and I've had the game for 39 hours.
:lol :lol :lol

I'm just up to
just before you hope into the Omega Relay.
Had a weird/really annoying crash when
we hopped in the shuttle for the IFF. Restarted my 360 and came back to as Joker, wandering around and wondering wtf was going on (fyi my confusion caused a delay causing death).

Finally start to get addicted to this game. It didn't click with me at first, don't even know why, but now I just enjoy it.
I guess I just needed a certain amount of crew members on my ship.

It's unclear.
All my members were loyal, I sent Legion, he died. I sent Tali, she lived. Someone it could be because I didn't upgrade Legion's rifle. It may also have to do with who you sent along with Tali. I sent Zaeed with Legion and Garrus with Tali. My second attempt, I did everything exactly the same as some other people who completed it without a scratch and Mordin randomly died at some point (I was skipping cutscenes, so I don't know when it happened). My final attempt, I just brought Legion and Mordin on my personal team and everyone lived. Seems like it's a pretty complicated process that can appear random until you try out everything, which takes too much time for me to bother. I think it may even account for which characters you've exhausted the dialogue for. Try this out if you start really having trouble: send characters that you are confident have every upgrade and you've convo'd to death on important stuff, take the the ones you haven't talked to as much into battle.

Himuro said:
I sent Zaeed.

So did I. That must be the problem.
Garrus or Jacob are safe, I believe

True enough.

I can't go back and choose party leaders either. I try to restart mission and starts right from the beginning, not where you get to choose.

Yeah, that is an unfortunate part, I had to go back quite a ways.

Ended up making a save right before the relay.

Beautiful.

I'm only using it for the resources. Everything else would cheapen the experience.

I loaded up the modded config to max out resources, but them removed it and restored a save when I realized I would never scan any planets, and therefore miss any sidequests found during scanning.

I need some help (spoilers)

I thought I did everything right. Got all the ships upgrades and I think I made the right choices but Thane died. I wanted to save everyone on my crew! Any way to fix this?

Here is what I did:
Sent Tali in the vents
Garrus lead the first team
Jack made the biotic sphere
Miranda lead the second team
Samara escorted the crew members

It's the sniper class in a single player game, what do you think? :p

Also, Tactical cloak.

Nice, thanks guys. I'll have to use it for Insanity. I made the mistake of going Vanguard on my first run.

I love the game thus far but the armour system is extremely annoying. You only have one spot in the whole damn game to change your armour and you can't do it mid-mission. WTF.

I'm at the part where I can choose my weapon specialization (I'm Vanguard). Any suggestions on which I should go with?

I'm in the exact opposite camp. It was far more annoying being able to swap out mods mid mission in ME1 because before/during every fight I was constantly swapping shit out of me and my party members to maximize my efficiency. It's much better to try to be all around well prepared for the mission at hand, commit to a loadout, and go with it. Besides it's not like the armor mods do THAT much anyway.

Its not like the armor gives you any bonuses

It does. Scroll down, the flavour text often takes up the entire description, but they'll give you a +% in certain areas.

Regarding the endgame results... I remember hearing in a couple pre-release press interviews (such as Giantbomb's) that whether
certain characters live or die
is not only dependent on endgame decisions but also on even minor things that happen way earlier in the game.

To quote the Dude, I believe they said the endgame had "lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous" and that no one at Bioware had a full grasp of the system at work.

At first I just assumed it was "we're so awesome we don't even know how awesome we are" hype BS... but after reading all the discussion on the boards maybe they were right?

Mid-mission isn't a problem to me, but you are quite right about the ONE place being Shepard's cabin being dumb. Armory would have been nice to spare the loading screen.

It would have also have been nice to have more pieces. I used Blood Dragon the entire game first character.

When you get Sniper Armour Piercing, it pretty much kicks the crap out of Heavy Weapons for armored units. Great weapon.

Edit: Question to Xbox players: How do you control the Normandy on the Galaxy Map? Is it direct control, or are you guiding it to a cursor?

I think the basic choice that seems to work every time is:

Tali - vents
Garrus for both teams
Samara - biotic
Jacob - escort

Worked for me anyway.

Just got the IFF, hated that fight.

It doesn't help that once they get on you, you're basically dead because every time you try to cast something, you get interrupted. I had to do the final battle a few times.

I prefer AR on Vanguard because it's a better weapon for general purposes. As a Vanguard, there's very little advantage that a sniper rifle holds over a pistol.

Was Thane's loyalty mission glitchy or anyone else? The game froze during the final conversation of the mission. My 2nd time attempting it caused the camera to get stuck in a wall, after i ended a conversation with
that guy who came out of nowhere when you where tailing the political guy.
I couldn't move at all and Thane kept talking. :lol

Anyway, this is a fantastic game. I just got that IFF and it looks like shit is about to get real. I love it! :D

Still disappointed with the number of weapons in the game. Though i guess thats why they'll have extensive DLC for this game.

Direct Control
Thanks a bunch. I'm writing up a little "criticism", and there's definitely going to be a section based on PC controls, and a general lack of attention to the front-end experience on the PC.

Won't post it here (story discussion thread though), I don't want to hand people shit-covered glasses to view their first play through with.

I went with assault rifle on my Vanguard. Maybe not the best choice, but the burst-fire rifle I use is pretty good.

How are the CE/Inferno rifles?

It's more about the aesthetics for me. I'd prefer Shepard to wear a helmet during fights and to take it off when walking around in "towns" or whatever. But I just can't do that in this game.
