They should have put the Valkyrie instead of the Argus, at least it got better accuracy and firing rate.

I think I'll be getting this game at the Wii U launch. How directed is the multiplayer? Is it pretty much just waves with the game giving enough direction to players that matches can be completed without much communication between players if that ends up being the situation?

It's 11 waves of enemies to kill with special objectives at Wave 3, 6 and 10. Communication isn't really necessary on Bronze or Silver difficulties, but might be required on Gold and especially Platinum depending on your group. Just stay close to other players and it shouldn't be hard. You'll need them anyway for the special objectives. One game can last around 15 or 30 mins depending on how good and geared people are.

Objectives can be :

1)Kill 4 specific enemies one at a time.
2)Stand in a certain zone for a certain amount of time. The more players in the zone, the faster the objective can be completed.
3)Escort a little robot that only moves while standing near it, the more players are near it, the faster it moves.
4)Grab 2 bags, one at a time, and bring it to the extraction zone. If you do anything that would make the objective too easy, like running, or charging, or cloaking, you'll lose it. So gotta walk slowly.
5)Hack 4 different items, one at a time again.

Last wave is always 2 mins before the extraction.

I'm glad they've put those objectives, otherwise it would get boring fast.

But since Wii U will probably have less players than any other versions...and since we have no idea how good or bad Nintendo's own network will be, you better hope the multiplayer of ME3 isn't going to be too affected by it.

Nintendo's servers always put me a horrible delay except on the portable consoles where they put dedicated servers.

Thanks. That sounds pretty good actually with a decent amount of variety.

Forgot to mention that every 2 weekends, Bioware do a special Operation event with community and squad goals to spice things up a little... like this weekend where every combined players have to kill 600k of a specific enemy and where you gotta beat one full extraction in a game where every players use the same non-human race...with free items and upgrades if we beat both of them. It's cool and i doubt it will stop when the Wii U version will release, they've been going at it since March after all.

I dont think we should take Wii online as representative of what Wii U online will be. I remain cautious, but it will be better at least.

I don't understand why the last man standing won't use his fucking rockets when he's surrouned by atlases and phantoms. Fuck buying them, just blow the fuckers up.

Also, all hte assault rifles weigh too damn much. Some of the shotties too. Whenever i want to use a decent weapon i have to use a destroyer or a demolisher as ohterwise my powers are just useless..

I've been thinking: one class I'd like to see in future DLC is a Medic engineer. Give him/her a Supply Pylon-like Regeneration Field, which restores Health and Shields, and a limited supply of Medi-gel to restore fallen comrades from a distance. The Medi-gel can be replenished at ammo boxes, same as grenades. Add in Fortification or some other defensive power (heck, maybe offensive could work), and a class like that could be really cool.

agreed but he would have to have some agressive powers as well.

a regen beam would be great as well as a snap freeze type thing. it would encourage camping around your healing pylon though.

also, you wouldnt be able to tell who is hurt and how bad..

If I'm understanding you correctly, that would screw with their store set up a bit, allowing any of those four items to be replenished in-game. Folks would exploit it all the time to keep their Medi-Gel supply at 255.

I dunno, have it heal in pulses like the Supply Pylon delivers ammo. Have it overload and collapse after a certain amount of healings, too.

It would be a different supply. Have the player start out with 3 (up to 5 if you spec it) he can activate when another player is downed (not himself) to revive them from a distance. He can't revive himself (except, of course, with his personal medi-gel) and his supply is limited, so he'll have to choose when to use it. If the downed player is close, don't waste your limited supply on him.

Most times when you are last man standing phantoms just hold their position and gang up on you: after that it's either sync-kill, combination of melee or whatever they have to frustrate even the most ice-cold of players.
It's wasted medi-gel, basically.
There is also the chance you end up with a team of people who don't use medi-gel, rocket or ops packs and you just go "meh, why bother?". If it's wave 3 on gold and teammates keep going down and don't use gels even when they are surrounded by banshees and brutes, it's faster, less stressful and more fun to just ditch them and fish for better players. Unless of course you are an infiltrator-junkie and you enjoy the passive aggressiveness of letting the other players die so they can watch how you "carry" the entire match :)
IMO there's also a question of...accountability. If you are last and you die, doesn't matter how much the others have screwed up, you can't trick yourself into thinking "we lost because of that vanguard with claymore/infiltrator lvl 1/kroguard who glitched and din't left the match" and so on. And the others will make sure you won't delude yourself by sending you insults even if they saw you go through an entire stock of medi, ops and cobras.
Once again it's all about whether people understand how co-op works differently than VS or not: you would think with the popularity of MMOs people would get into games like these to enjoy teammwork, but nooo...

please no.

all this would do is make people think it's ok to run around and get killed. They do it enough as it is, if they know someone on their team can heal them from the other side of the map it would be even worse. People would run around with unmodded Locusts

I want the opposite. I want a mode where you have to have full consumables before going into a match and you lose any you have left at the end of a game.

Cleared Giant in 19 flat which is kind of crazy for pubbers. Good Gold games this weekend.

Everyone get their squad goal in? I might be on for one more game later.

Well, they'd quickly learn their lesson when they don't get revived because of their stupidity.

Yeah, if folks are going down early and not using their medi-gels or ops-survival, it's not worth it. But, it really sucks when you make it to wave 10, complete the objective and everyone else just seems to give up and not bother, especially on gold. I get folks are mostly farming for credits, but damn man, at least TRY to get extracted.

Extra credits for extractions would fix that.

Absolutely. A paltry 15k for full extraction is a drop in the bucket. It was mainly bugging me because I was trying to knock out the achievement for doing gold runs on the original 6 maps, and damn if those last two weren't frustrating because if that.

sorry but this is an even worse suggestion. at least his isn't a punishment to everyone.

this just says "lol who cares if you're good"

Most of the good players I meet in pubs are swimming in credits and consumables.
A 33k entry fee (pending extraction) would be chump change.

im not, that's a terrible idea.

I think the Multiplayer aspect is really losing interest for me.

I have every non ultra rare weapon at X. I have pretty much all "gear" at V. Im only playing now for "Ultra rare" weapons and they just dont drop often enough.

Id say for every 10 PSP's i buy, i get an ultra rare once- and tbh, its never the one i want.

The last one i got was my Black Widow III, and that isnt enough to keep me playing. They either need to introduce something quickly or increase the drop rate of UR's because playing for credits just isnt fun anymore - all i seem to be getting are Level IV consumable drops.

yeah, except that 33k adds up over time and could be put to better use. the idea of punishing good players is ridiculous.

I would rather my consumables go to waste than carry scrubs to 75k because they don't want to put in the time to get decent and just expect good players to carry them.

you must work for BioWare because this is just a ridiculous solution. you think the scrubs care if they lose consumables? they don't use them anyway. Whether they have 255 or 0 it doesn't make a difference. they join publics and hope they have good people in the lobby to carry them. if not, they just leave and repeat the process.

@Phat Michael - yeah it sucks. the drop rate for URs is around 12%. sometimes people get lucky and get multiple URs in 4-5 packs and sometimes they go on forever.

I've had stretches of 39 and 58 PSPs without a ultra rare.

Man I couldn't play this weekend because I was really sick

I bet you guys will get awesome stuff =(

not me, couldnt get a damn game together with 4 of the same race - was RIDICULOUS. The one time we did some dickhead quit halfway through as he kept dying and was replaced with a different race.

The other time i entered a game and saw that everyone was turian (fine) - i go to change to turian as i entered with a geth (You cant possibly know which race people are going to choose) and before i could choose a character i was kicked from the game for being geth.

There was really no reason for this "Goal"

It was fun and easy if you actually have people in your friend list that play this game. Good thing i do!

I did it with randoms, but I had to start my own lobby, and plug in my mic to get a few people to cooperate. I started with a Justicar, then a guy with a Krogan joins, so I switch to my Kroguard in a hurry. Made the rest of the people that joined adhere, or get da boot.

Probably wouldn't have worked out as smoothly if I hadn't decided to take care of the Squad Goal early. Once most people have it taken care of, they're not really interested in helping others–though I did try.

Hope we met the Allied Goal, I played nothing but Cerberus while the Operation was going.

Platinum destroyed my soul.

first time ever i actually got a good Platinum game going (very rare on PS3 with the much smaller player base), everyone is really good and we are just kicking ass, we get to wave 10 and i still have most of my medi-gel and rockets... BUT then i make a completely stupid little mistake and everything went to shit, making our whole team fail when we were only a few moments away from getting the money. it was 100% my fault.

FML :(

I dont. I play with randoms only...

Well, maybe you should add some of those good random players into your friend list, that's what someone did with me, and now im in her good group of 4-5 players thanks to that. Not only is it useful for these special goals, but its more fun to play!

No. I would rather lose consumables than play with people that don't have or refuse to use them.

Understand that in my dream mode extraction has a credits bonus. You can't even join without FULL consumables 5/5/6/5. 'Buy-in' matches are user selectable. You don't have to join 'buy-in' matches. It results in a net loss only for players that don't reach extraction at certain rate. Players that regularly reach extraction wouldn't notice a difference.

I don't care about credits at all. I already have more than enough for the next DLC. I just like to have fun. This weekend I ran into several players dropping out of matches after they discovered it was too hard. This was nothing new. I've played with players that openly admitted to not having rockets on fucking platinum. Guarantee that if I could set one tiny little flag my pubs would improve dramatically.

This week's goal was horrible.

I thought if you had a private lobby it would stay that during the game. I guess not cause people kept on joining even though it was just my friend and me in a private lobby.

I just gave up after the 2nd try

That's a horrible idea. I've played from the very beginning, and spent millions of points on the packages, yet my consumables capacity is still like this:

And I suspect I'm not the only one.

That being said, what would be the best package to buy in order to raise the capacity?

What I'd like to see is that if the match ends abruptly due to losing the connection, you should still get the points you had collected up until that point, and not lose any of the consumable gear you had set for the match.

That's definitely not normal since i never see random people joining my private games if some slots are available.

Reverse the Cobra missiles with Thermal Clips and I'm right there with you. Although I went through a good 2 month period where I barely touched the MP, and only recently got back into it.

Well, I haven't played the game every day, or even every week, myself either. =) I've put countless hours and points on it after its release, and I'm a bit baffled how to raise the consumables capacity, as I haven't received a single Medi-Gel & Ops Survival Pack raise.

I totally got like a quarter of those Atlas kills on 360. Y'all got carried. :B[/BS]

It's definitely not a lobby for everyone. That's why it's an optional flag.

I can't remember what packages raised my capacity. Probably Spectre Packs. PSPs would be better these days. I bought rookie/vet packs when I first started playing. Back then finishing a Gold game was a get. Wish I had played more Gold to get my capacities up to 10 before they nerfed that.

I'll have to look into those after I've done enough farming.

On a side note, I just played my first Silver solo match, with the trusted Kroguard of course. It turned out to be surprisingly easy. The Hunters were somewhat problematic though, as you can't lock on to them when they're cloaked.

OPERATION: PATRIOT SUCCESS!

Soldiers of the Milky Way –

Cerberus has been a thorn in our side since this war began. Thankfully, due to the overwhelming success of Operation PATRIOT, that pain has been greatly reduced. While it would be naïve to say that Cerberus won’t recover, it will take them time to rebuild–time we can use to focus on the Reapers.

Our teams destroyed a host of Atlas mechs, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. The drones we deployed captured Cerberus data detailing unusual Reaper movement and intelligence. Ballistic analyses and postmortem examinations conducted by Cerberus scientists confirm a new offensive strategy, and this Reaper intel will further our cause.

To the Operation PATRIOT squads: You represent the very best of your respective militaries. More than that, you represent the very best of our allied army as a whole. It is by trusting in the strengths of our allies that we will succeed. This galaxy belongs to all of us, and we will defend it together.

–Admiral Hackett

And yet another vague comment from Hackett that might or might not be talking about Collectors.

we do, it's just

1. We have no splash screen so no one knows about the challenges.
2. People would rather farm FBWGG. I thought it was bad on Xbox, it's literally the only gold matches available in public on PS3
