That's the one banner I refuse to chase. I don't feel like waiting 20 seconds to buy each recruit pack a bunch of times and then have to re-spec my entire roster of characters.

Yeah I wish there was a way to buy multiple packs at once. One successful gold run is 80k credits, and that's like 16 recruit packs to click, wait for loading content, see content, go back to the store, repeat 15 more times.

I can't fucking wait for this to be done with, I haven't played with a lvl 20 character in weeks. Damn my completionist side for wanting the "Best of the Best" banner.

The Reaper Mastery is frustrating one as well. Feels like I've been trying to get the Husk meter full for ages, and still over 50k left.

I didnt think that one was that bad when I did it. Solo silver matches and just die after like wave 5 since there are not many husks on the latter waves. I think I used a fury since they can nuke mobs, but there are even better classes now for that I am sure.

Geth Mastery seemed fairly quick to achieve, but this seems to take forever. Which is surprising, as there are a plenty of Husks in the matches, compared to eg. Geth Bombers. Perhaps each of them just gives you so few points.

I might try Solo/Silver, if team Gold matches don't give me enough points for them.

There was a YouTube video showing how to farm Husk; I did that to complete the Reaper Mastery challenge once. A few months ago I happened to complete the challenge a second time without farming, still need the Collector and Cerberus banner.

And I need people to roll with for Gold, but I can't play until the middle of May :(

Edit: xCal uploaded a 12:41 duo platinum run on Glacier with Sirian - Link; Kroguard+GI

I just started playing mp and love it.
Now i play silver games with 30k+ credits

What packs should i be buying? What is the fastest way to upgrade equpment?

Edit: best guide for mp? Or at least links to some useful posts in this thread. I cant read 380 pages :). I tried to read from page 300 but it is like reading EVE online forum :)

This is an easy way to get between 9,000-15,000 husk points (depending on the objective,) toward the "Reaper Mastery" challenge in Mass Effect 3.MultiPlayer. The basic setup is Salarian Engineer, on Firebase Giant on Silver.

Wave 1: Kill things as fast as you can.

Wave 2: Try to kill only husks until no more husks show up.

Wave 3: Kill anything that comes in front of you since everything you kill will respawn. Ignore the objective and just focus on killing husks.

Any gun will do. Just keep your decoy out in front to distract the Marauders and to some degree the Cannibals.

I'll have to try that.

There is no really fast way to upgrade equipment. Recruit packs could be good to get some consumables very fast as well as upgrading the beginner guns, but you'll soon stop using them anyway. Veteran packs could be ok since they give better guns than Recruit, but its still not as good as the more expensive packs. It's up to you really. If silver isn't too hard with your current equipment, just save your credits for premium/reserve/arsenal packs.

I don't really know about any guides, I got it all from experience, but what I can tell you is that if you have anything that can help against armor, class powers or gun mods, take it. Armored enemies can be annoying sometimes without these. Shields and Barriers aren't quite as annoying to deal with, especially if you have someone with a Reegar shotgun or Acolyte pistol with you.

Bisnic pretty much covered the packs. There isn't really a guide for MP, but I get most of my tip&tricks from xCalizorz on YouTube and learn the ropes from experience. Wouldn't hurt to know stuff beforehand though, so:
1) If you want a "guide" on how to spec out characters, here's a [link] to my Excel Sheet based on xCal's and INVADERONE's videos/builds. I don't include many of the builds out there on forums because I tend to adapt these two's playstyles quite easily.
2) [This link] looks like a good compilation of Multiplayer Mechanics that will be useful to know or keep in mind.

Based on your Manifest, you might want to stick with biotic users until you build up your Manifest and get better guns (FYI, Mantis is one of the best starter weapons). The Turian Sentinel is a pretty good kit: Overload to strip shields and barriers and Warp to help you with armored targets. Just need to get used to the lack of mobility.

You can add me (GT: ChocobroBread) and some other users on XBL to play some games and ask questions about the MP, but I won't be playing until the middle of May because of college assignments and exams. Feel free to ask questions here as well.

I'll have to try that.

Yup, that's the one I used.

I'd like to add a few random things. these are ones I didn't notice right away, forgive me if they're TOO newbie:

you get bonus credits for doing the objectives faster. so def try to help out when it's hacking, escort, etc. For those 2 in particular, the process goes faster the more people you have in the zone.

For the equipment slots, 3 of them are for consumables (cryo ammo, etc) but the 4th one, called Gear, those don't go away. Even if the ones you have are shitty right now, equip em anyway cuz they can't hurt. You'll get better ones in the packs eventually and you should always have one equipped

When buying packs, when you max out a weapon or character they're taken out of the pool so you won't draw them again in the future. Common human classes are the only exception but at least you'll get xp when they come up, and they will.

Don't be too stingy with rockets, medi gel, survival packs, and thermal packs (dpad stuff if you're playing on console). use them smart of course, but that stuff becomes absolutely necessary at times. When using rockets, try to wait until enemies are bunched up and shoot at the floor/feet. The blast has a good radius and this way you don't run the risk of missing and shooting it off into the horizon. it's also a 1 hit kill on anything, so Banshee, Brute, Praetorian make for good rocket targets, mwahaha

I actually wouldn't say recruit or veteran packs are too bad since I seem to have a higher chance of getting mods for them. Really the packs come down to what you want, do you want to experience a new character playstyle go for reserve, better weapon variety/improve current weapons arsenal, beginner mods recruit (it's worth buying recuit for the stability mod alone), better mods go for veteran, the only packs not really worth getting a recruit once you maxed out all the beginner stuff and spectre, which is just a worst premium spectre pack.

Brutes are AWFUL targets for rockets. If there isn't a Banshee or at least 5 other enemies next to the Brute, you just wasted a rocket. Are you sure you didn't mean to say Atlas, Prime, or even Phantom?

Brutes are easy to manage but I won't hesitate to nuke em if there's more than 1 or if it's in the extraction zone with the group. Same with Atlases. I would say the Primes would be a waste of a nuke

The only good targets for rockets are a group of at least 2 Praetorians, Banshees, Atlas, Primes and maybe Scions. Oh and if you're unlucky enough to meet a group of 4 Phantoms.

I feel like using a rocket for a single "boss" is a waste of a rocket, yet I still see people doing it.

I agree, Prime are pretty easy to take out.

That's more or less the consensus, but if we're giving tips to newcomers it's alright to let them know they have a safety net.

Really I think it comes down to judging the overall mood and your despiration, you shouldn't really be using rockets until the last 2 maybe 3 rounds, unless it's a large cluster which your group maybe unable to deal with but if your in a near fail situation and you know it's the last cluster and you you've run out of medigels using the extra rocket to ensure going into the next round rather than failure and getting 2 in one.

Ultimately it comes down to your ability to judge the situation I think, I wouldn't say you should never use it one one boss, since if your the last person surviving until the next round is more important than wasting a rocket if you can't confidently deal with the situation. Of course in the closer matches your ability to converge rockets will mean the difference between winning or not.

I'm tallking mostly about gold platinum here, you shouldn't really need rockets in silver, unless shit really hits the fan.

I'll admit that if Wave 10 is a "Kill four specific targets" objective, I'll waste my rockets on them... unless its a simple enemy like a Guardian or Marauder. And i'm not alone with that thought after witnessing many players doing it. :p

When you have 255 missiles, you can deal with four less missiles. :lol

Yea rockets stack up ridiculously, if only medi-gels and survival packs did the same.

I also have 255 medi-gels and ops packs. :D

I must have bought hundreds of Recruit packs during the past weeks, so its not really surprising haha. All the consumables that I might have used in a Gold match comes back to 255 after I spend my 80k credits in Recruit packs.

Here's a question for (I assume) Bis, Sai, Phat Michael, or anyone who has a large manifest: when yours is near complete, what do you actually get when you buy a pack? Are you pretty much guaranteed to get whatever it is you're still missing or is it more like all consumables hell?

What Phat said. A lot of consumables of rank IV, be it ammo or +% shield or +% power, etc. And if you're (very)lucky... an Ultra Rare. It took me a bunch of 99k credits packs before I could unlock the latest DLC gun mods at rank V(which were the last rare things I needed to max), not all of them had those mods. But it seems that, as long as you have rare characters or guns that aren't maxed, the packs will prioritize them. But gears and mods? Nope.

Yup, I'm here to confirm that the Turian Ghost Infiltrator, is infact, OP. And I love those drugs. Those sweet sweet stimpacks.

So that makes for Geth Soldier and TGI as my Gold "go-to" chars. My n7 paladin is up there with them too. Now I just need to get lucky and get a krogan vanguard, that would be awesome. Batarian vanguard is really fun on Silver, but I think I would get eaten on Gold.

I tried the Asari huntress, but I wasn't really feeling her power. And I don't get the N7 shadow gameplay at all. Too fragile to take on real enemies since they're usually grouped up, and the stragglers can be dispatched quite easily with a gun anyway so why bother busting out the sword? I'm probably playing it wrong (and off-host is harder, but my vanguards make up for that because they can recharge shields on demand).

Electric slash through a wall and dodge are pretty much her main crowd control abilities. which is very good and can have insane range plus obviously go through walls and finish her combo if specced towards it.

If you wanna snipe your gonna need some great map awareness or a large map and right enemy combo if you want to be successful I find. She's great fun to play in general though to me since there's nothing quite like like one shot sniping a phantom after being on the recieving end of their surprise buttsecks sync kills.

Surprisingly my current favourite character is the Turian Soldier, despite the fact I don't use marksmanship in my build. Concussive shot combined with falcon can consistently stun lock any non boss enemy in the game even on platinum. So satisfying guiding the enemies into a corridor place down a promity mine then stun lock the entire group to death. Plus concussive shot has some awesome tracking, it gets a bit harder when a map doesn't have obvious corridors so I tend to host and pick good maps for platinum.

Guys. GUYS!... I don't think you realize how many credits I'm blowing through to get what I have. XD
I'm only playing around, Sai :p What difficulty do you play on and how many hours per day or week?

Principate, I assume you bring a second weapon with you? Because taking out Platinum boss units will take a long time with just the Falcon + CS/PM.

Gold 'n Platinum. Don't even play Silver just to warm up anymore. I have 2-3 sessions a day that last about an hour or two. I try to get at least 300k each time to cycle through all three 99k packs at least once.

Do Lift Grenades count as Biotic Damage? I'm wondering if using a Commando Package with an Asari Vanguard would be good since it gives extra pistol and biotic damage and i like using Lift Grenades with her.

AFAIK, they do count as biotics even though they're grenades. I also tested it on narida.pytalhost and LG does get the extra damage from Commando Package.

UR Get! Awakened Collector IV... I.m pretty sure the last 5 UR's I got were all characters and I don't want any of them. At least I also got Geth Juggernaut I though, finally!

Was super lttp on this one, just finished campaign this past week and started up multiplayer, and this stuff is addicting. For now I am just doing bronze runs and leveling up until I get some decent weapons and equipment, seems like anything higher and I'm just going to be a liability. This definitely has a 'just one more game' type of effect.

Just so you know, I've spent nearly 1.5 million credits since then without a single UR drop. :p

OK friends again.

BTW just played with some absolute dickheads. They said comments like "yeah you need to go on you tube and look up these things called 'Biotic Explosions' - we both need to learn how to do those!" <-- they were playing on Gold.

I chose a Volus Engineer as a bit of a joke. They gave me shit saying how im going to die/theyre going to carry me etc.

Well, it didnt go as they planned.

Volus Engineer
Scorpion X with 30% Power Damage and increased Clips
Engineering Kit 15% Power Damage
Pistol Amp III
Explosion Rounds III
Power Amplifier Amp IV

I dont think these guys have seen a volus be a main role rather than support. Firebase White, Recon mine at the bottom of the stairs. Proxy Mine --> Lay 7 scorpions. Bodyparts everywhere then rince and repeat debuffs on with the proxy then explode the recon in a large group.

170K Points with the volus. Next guy had about 50 or 60K i believe. I also carried their arses through the escort rounds since they were constantly going down.

As a team player - THAT Build for a volus is very very good.

Finally done with the 60 promotions challenges AND the 200 waves I needed for some characters... I can finally play what I want and stay lvl 20 forever and stop buying Recruit packs and start getting some URs again! Now I only need to do a couple of gold waves on 6 maps and i'll have the Best of the Best banner! :D

Speaking of Volus Engineer, I build mine for support and just followed a Krogan Warlord yesterday to make sure his shield never go down while he smashed Geths to pieces and used my Recon Mine for improving damage to scanned enemies. We were an unbeatable duo team on Gold, even if in the end he had 100k more points than me. :p

^Congrats on the 60 promotions. I started to do it and got to 12 before quitting, was just way too time consuming for me.

Anyone have tips on how to spec the Guth Juggernaut? I'm like lv 18 atm but went with full shield restoration with the turret. I like the idea but it dies very quickly. I also kind of hate the Hex Shield so I didn't put any points into it (I think the first point is required, though). Siege Pulse is awesome, I went extra damage with it. Lastly, I put like nothing into combat stats but went all shields and health for the last one; I need this for every character I play

Yeah, a lot of times I asked myself, "Why the fuck am I doing this? For a banner? Is it really worth it if i'm not having fun doing so?"

And I did it anyway.

zero hex shield.

full shields.

siege pulse at 4 for and damage reduction.

turret for shield and flamer.

juggernaut shield for consumable.

very boring class but too easy. no med gels needed at all.

I do roughly that - except I have Hex to 5. It's VERY boring and if you want golds to be done in any time at all, you make sure your 3 others don't pick Jugs also. You're basically the tank and rock that keeps everyone focused. It'll take you approx 40 seconds to take out a Geth Prime when you're in his face, so you have to DEPEND on your pals.

Yeah, I was definitely bored with it when I tried him out. I have the Adas Anti-Synthetic rifle on him (don't have a Geth Spitfire) but are there any other weapon recommendations? I couldn't really participate in anything besides go off on my own and be a tank. I will say that I'll never get tired of his heavy melee though. Question, do you have to aim with the reticule a bit or can you just be in melee range? There were a few times where I'd press and hold B, it'd give me a squeek, but then not do it. Or maybe there's a cooldown?
