Mass Effect 3 SPOILER THREAD: LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE

The Bombcast made me realize that if they patch in a new ending with DLC, it would need Ron Perlman unfairly shitting on Shepard for not dying.

Vinny “OK, what if we just had Shepard shit in his hand and throw it in the camera?”

Jeff "OK...

Vinny “Would that make it a better ending?”

Jeff "It would be more honest”

There should have been a mission to go and retake Omega with Aria. :|

There should've been an ending where you fuck with Aria.
And it's a BAD END because you're literally fucking Aria

The 'rumoured' DLC shouldn't be part of any equation. It is baseless, especially due to its source, and requires an absolute confirmation bias simply to exist. It's a lie, pure and simple, and no more a valid source than going to /v/ now and posting something myself.

Who here would pay for that "Truth" DLC if it turned out to be real. I probably would, I would hate myself just a little bit, but I would.

I still can't get over of the whole "To save organics from synthetics, we created super synthetics called Reapers to kill organics and assimilate them as Reapers" idea. It's *so dumb* that I want to shoot fakeCasper for mentioning how the whole stupidity started.

You'd think this supposedly advance civilization would have been smarter than us but no, they are dumber than bricks.

So I finally finished the game. I went in having read the leaked script and seeing the endings. I had next to no expectations, considering the shit BioWare pulled with Dragon Age 2 and how much I really loved Dragon Age: Origins.

To my surprise, this was a really excellent game. Not perfect by any means but definitely with some excellent moments.

Until the ending.

Who in their right mind put that giant turd together and thought that was a good way to end the series? What kind of emotions were they trying to elicit from the player? I was just confused and underwhelmed and left thinking "Thats it?" What the hell is up with the Normandy cliffhanger? Or the idiotic grandpa/kid BS at the end? Really?

What a fantastic way to shit all over the end of an otherwise good game and good series. Nice one BioWare.

At this point I think the ending is what the ending is. However I think there may be some conversations at Bioware right now about the possibility of doing something else. I'm sure there's someone weighing what the cost of a new ending would be and how feasible it would be. I'm equally sure there's some debate about whether it's right to cave in to overwhelming fan demand vs. staying true to your vision. They may only be informal off-the-cuff talks, but I'm willing to bet that people are at least talking.

The major factor working against them is the VA issue. Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale are obviously locked in and contracted, if only for the further single-player DLC. Beyond that, who knows who they have lined up. Based on the ME2 DLC, probably none of the squad members, which would definitely limit their options.

@JessicaMerizan @Iron_Moses Who's to say the relays are destroyed... I personally don't buy it.

@ArmarnaG @Iron_Moses if college taught me anything, it's to always question what is presented to me. Critical thinking ftw.

There, there... it'll be all right. Come over here and we'll make it all better...

Unfortunately, the ending is vague enough that they could add to it.

However, if they truly believed that BSG was the best thing ever, then they will want to stick with the ending they have now. It may be terrible, but they don't need to touch it again.

Erm..we watched them disintegrate?

Are they trying to fuck with my head? It's hard to do that after I watched it happen. Unless....

INDOCTRINATION THEORY!!!!!

That is the exact reaction I had in real life when the kid's ship blew up.

I saw the kid, I knew it was some hamfisted bullshit from BioWare to make me feel sad, and I was glad the kid died.

Though, at the time, I thought it was because I chose the Renegade option. Doh.

Anyone notice the first shot with the kid is of him trying to deceive you with a toy ship?

If you look at the background in the last pic, you can see a circular rotunda with a spire in the middle, similar to the final seen with the catalyst and the beam of light magic.

Listen to yourself! You would reward them for cutting off the end of the game and selling it to you?

I would probably have to fight myself to not buy it :|. But I'd put up one hell of a struggle at least

I would because I love Mass Effect and would pay for a fitting ending.

I'm fully indoctrinated.

That $10 would be worth my peace of mind.

Plus, I love ME. So anything that gives me an excuse to dive back in would be enough for me.

Yes, I know I'm a terrible person.

I'd almost pay $5 for DLC that lets me punch that kid in the face.

The one thing that brings a smile to my face is the certainty that Mac Walters is sitting wherever completely perplexed that people hate that kid so much.

"Bu...bu....bu... It's a human kid! Everyone loves human kids! Why wouldn't that traumatize a Commander Shepard who may have brutally killed several of his own squad members! I don't get what the complaints are about!"

For why I think this, witness the 1up interview he did before the game's release where he got hammered on the whole Earth-focus of the pre-release stuff.

If you actually read Jessica Meridian's twitter you'll find for every supposed vague, cryptic tweet about the ending there's at least one other where she discusses the events as if they're concrete. Like many community managers and the community BioWare has harboured for a long time now, she seems to be urging discussion and speculation, nothing more.

I was more noticing the vignetting around the corners, which proves that Harbinger indoctrinated Hackett and Liara is the true reaper boss – didn't anyone notice how she can take you to dark space at the end before the last fight? You think this is coincidental?
