Mass Effect: Andromeda - EA/Origin Access trial coming March 16th - 10 hour trial

so I can 5 bucks now and get the first 10 hours of this game? awesome that i don't have to prepurchase the game

yes when the trial goes live. You can play 10hrs but they cut off single player campaign at a certain point. but there is multiplayer to use aswell.

Another question for y'all. Do I have to download the actual game again, after the trial ends? I bought it from cdkeys, they won't send the keys until 23rd probably. Can we use the trial download or am I gonna have to download it again?

I'm thinking of downloading it for the PC, see how it performs on here, albeit with mouse and keyboard controls as compared to downloading it on Xbox-1...

Pretty sure it has native controller support if you wanna try your hand at that.

But for what its worth the other games are great on mouse/keyboard. Especially the original which actually uses a number of hotkeys.

Yeah but isn't a case you have to get some sort of plugin for that ? (to use the Xbox-1 controller on the PC) it's not a case of literally plugin-play?

So, in order to get early access to this game, you'd have to have pre-ordered it first?

No.

Pre ordering/downloading just lets you load the 40gb game beforehand. Once the trial period starts anyone can download the trial at that time. People preordering who already downloaded the copy will simply be able to access it once it unlocks and not have to wait until that time to initiate the download like everyone else

The "trial" is the whole game, so you need to download the whole game to try it. Therefore it will already be downloaded for you. It won't disappear once your 10 hours are up. Just don't delete it, and Once you get your key, it will essentially unlock it, you won't need to download anything else.

Paid the $5 to try this out so I can determine if I want to buy the Super Omega Deluxe Alpha Edition. If I don't like the performance or the way it controls I can just pass on it or get it when it is cheap.

Just seeing a video, bit of a long winded approach to get the controller to work on the PC, as the cable supplied by Microsoft is really short, and a case of having to buy one especially for a demo, on top of that searching for the drivers etc...(I'm on 8.1 not 10)

You don't have to do anything to get a xbox controller to work on the pc. You just plug it in and it downloads the drivers automatically and works immediately. Any usb cable that you have around should work as the xbox controller connection fits most usb cables (except for usb c obviously). You're making it out to be way more difficult than it actually is.

Since i'm not getting ME:A day 1 i'll wait til the weekend to download the trial, how much I like it will determine how soon I get it.

Gated how, exactly?

I keep seeing this mentioned with no details, or source.

you can play and level up however much u want within the 10 hours. The single player will stop you at a certain point and say u need to buy the full game when it comes out to continue

I have origin access and I don't see it.

Where are you getting this information though?

Are you just assuming it's that way because BF1 was?
