I don't know DAI gets so much shit. The MMO quests are bad yes but other than that I was fine with it?
Yeah, I loved it as well. The game did rather well and thankfully we another another Dragon Age to look forward to by the same team.

To be fair, we don't know how upper management handled the production process. There may be plenty of blame to go around.
That should also affect Zelda's scores.Breath of the Wild's frame rate dips to 20 on regular occasions on the Switch. Everything is subjective.
We know next to nothing about the development ATM, as something has clearly gone wrong somewhere.
I hope we'll find out via leaks/journalism.
Amazon with prime gives you a discount up to two weeks after release.
I still don't think it's worth it. Especially with pricing over time collapsing lately.
Is this game really the hill some people want to die on.
Like, take this from the Gamespot review:
That's just....the worst.
Why would you just cut the paragon/renegade and then not come up with something great to replace it.

I don't get "Preorder culture" personally. This isn't 1998 where EB Games would get 15 copies of a game from poor retail channels. There's.literally no reason to preorder a game unless it's a slam dunk sure thing you want. We don't buy release night tickets months in advance for any movie we have a inkling to see, and there's some actual scarcity there since theaters are finite physical locations. Why do for games?
Travel to a different galaxy to hang with Kaidan Mk.2.
"When do we go back?"
As someone who has never played the first three games outside of ME3's multiplayer, will it still be worth renting ME:A for that aspect alone?
The all-options-are-good thing shouldn't really surprise anyone anymore, it sucks but so many games do it now because the overwhelming majority of people pick the good options so it's not worth the extra work.
Is this game really the hill some people want to die on.
Outlets that gave this game a 9/10 should explain how they do not focus bugs in their reviews. Disgusting.
I want to see evidence of this 7 is the average. For years I've felt like games were drowning it 8s. But I'm open to be proven wrong. All I'm saying everytime a highly anticipated game got a 7 average has felt like an outlier to me not the norm.
so are we ever going to have a normal review thread

Pretty pathetic performance for a five year development cycle.
The Dragon Age team managed an 89 Metacritic and 134 Game of the Year awards (101 critic, 33 reader) with a 3.5 year development cycle, cross-gen limitations, and having to build out all the RPG functionality for the engine. They even spent a non-trivial amount of their cycle on a canceled Dragon Age 2 expansion pack, and had a much worse base to work from.
Mass Effect: Andromeda on the other hand follows up three 90+ games with what will be in the bottom 25-30% of $60 games by Metacritic score this year, and assuredly getting zero (or at least very close to zero) Game of the Year awards, despite having 1.5 more years for development and all the groundwork the Dragon Age and original Mass Effect teams laid for them.

After the biggest impact that the original trilogy was for the industry. Can we say that Andromeda can join the list of failed titles of a franchise?
Crash Bandicoot The Wrath of Cortex
Sonic 2006
Gears of War Judgement
Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
God of War Ascension
Metal Gear Solid 4
I'm so sad for the fans that waited for a Resident Evil 4.
I'm enjoying myself too. Guess I should feel dirty and cheated haha
I think technological issues should be out of their personal opinion and drag a score down.Yakuza has terrible animations and little variety, Horizon Zero Dawn has cheeseable stealth, Zelda plays at a subpar 30fps. Each reviewer has different things that will drag down the score.
Inquisition came out in a pretty shitty year and there was barely anything on new consoles. Had it come out a year later in a post Witcher 3 world it would have been trashed.Pretty pathetic performance for a five year development cycle.

They can just go somewhere else again if the series survives.
It gave me 60ish hours of enjoyment, but the last 10 or so were pretty rough. Mission design and world need a few tweaks and it could be a legit great game. The best part (besides the side content) was the world wasn't "open". I hate open world games.
So I can get past janky animations, some minor non-game-breaking technical issues and even some bad voice acting, but the writing and narrative - which are what I play Bioware games for - better be good to excellent. If that turns out to be mediocre or just plain average, which it sounds like Andromeda is, than I'm not going to pick it up until later because I just don't have time for that in my life right now, especially when I haven't gotten to games like Horizon yet. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but it sounds like Mass Effect: Inquistion, which is the opposite of what I want. I really think Bioware lost a lot of its magic after being bought out by EA. Andromeda feels more like a "product" released to meet shareholders earnings expectations rather than a game filled with artistic endeavors so to speak. It's probably no where near as bad as people will/are making it out to be, but I doubt if it will live up to the prior trilogy. Let's just hope CD Projekt doesn't get bought out. No offense of course to the bioware team. I'm sure they sunk their life into this project. But also fuck side filler content fetch quest bullshit.
Yeeep. Meanwhile I'm sitting here changing my region to see if the game is out anywhere!
Well, Metacritic has the average review score as 74. You can work that out from

This doesn't surprise me at all. Masterminds behind Bioware top games left the company. It shows.
While Dragon Age Inquisition was OK, it already showed weak writing and forgettable characters.
Bioware games haven't ever been the most polished pieces of software. If the story and game design was good people could overlook the animation issues.
The only reason I powered through DA:I was to read journal entries in dilapidated houses :lol
I ain't liked ME since the first one, so I'm just here for the show.
He's an influencer on the biggest enthusiast gamers board and on his personal and very successful twitter. Integral to the promotion and hype creation on the game here for a long time. I know it, you know it, Bioware knows it.
I'm sure he's not a paid shill, but how close you have to be with a developer to draw a line between "a fan" and "a marketing tool"? Draw a line, everybody sticks to it, I'm fine with whatever.
Let's make the most of this trainwreck.

That's how I see it. Will be playing tonight when it unlocks.Hahaha true true
Been reading/watching some more positive reviews and they actually seen to like the planets and find enough reason for exploration. It's tempting to just pay those 44 euros and check it out for myself. Especially because I liked quite a bit in that trial.

Ow, the edge.WHAT? It's the only good Banjo game
LOL what is MGS4 doing there?
A highly rated successful game and neogafs 2008 GOTY both for the year and in the updated GOTY ranking.
Swap it out with Resident Evil 6
god damn you just went harder on DA:I than I ever did saw anyone. ruthless. all true but ruthless
That should also affect Zelda's scores.
I can't trust review outlets for a long time now, the scores they give are always way too high.
