I don't agree, but even if we assume that the UK leaving doesn't directly impact the economy, there'd be no possible way to prevent Greece leaving the Euro if the United Kingdom of all places decided to go, and that would be the balloon going up.

I see no direct connection between a brexit and and a grexit.
Should Greece leave that will happen way before the British even go to the polls.

if anyone does not want the DUP anywhere near power you need to hope the Tories win some of the seats remaining from the Lib Dems, as if they scrape a majority it will be increasingly likely they ask them to help out...

as worth remembering there are roughly 60 very right wing Tory backbenchers.... Cameron is in a tough spot with a tight majority

I still wanted my DUP majority

It does if you're doing 'well' or better than the guy down the street.

I also wouldn't say the UK is 'far right'. It's just more concerned with being selfish and looking out for numero uno and fuck everyone else. If you're doing relatively 'OK' you'll continue to do so under a Tory government.

Now if If you use any benefits, the NHS or have a smidgen of care about your local community, high rents and people not as lucky as you then the next few years are going to be ghastly.

I genuinely feel the UK is turning into a far right country. The way we treat immigrants, and the vulnerable is absolutely disgusting. We are being taught it is okay to treat these people like sub human.

Not anymore it's not, I'm afraid. Social Media is increasingly driving the modern news agenda and is a far stronger influence for many.

As for the treatment of the disabled by the Tories, I'm not really sure what you're trying to achieve. I'm either going to say i) I condemn it, so you'll condemn me for my opinion, based on whatever contrived, out-of-context, hyperbolic example you'll inevitably cite, or I'll say I ii) support it, so you'll condemn my sense of humanity.

I'm not going to entertain this ludicrous approach to discussion. Nobody's going to advocate for the criminalisation of the disabled, as you put it.

You're starting to sound like a politician yourself with this answer. Why are you dodging the simple question? What do you think of the planned £12bn cut to welfare, which has already been cut to the point where vulnerable people just cannot live.

Oh, so you genuinely believe his actions had zero effect on Britain's economy then?

I believe that his actions after the collapse spread to the British banking system saved us from an even worse recession----something that virtually every economist agrees with, and which is borne out by the data which shows that the UK was recovering from the recession before the Tories took power, started cutting, and plunged us into a double dip.

keep an eye on Brand today

he is going to shit the bed lol

many many long words incoming

I think you're probably going to be disappointed by his response.

If anything this result aids him. 'Austerity' was coming whichever party got in. Although the Tories now get a massive bonus by getting to fully push some of their more extreme ideologies on the UK.

Fine. Do I think disabled people should be criminalised? No. Why is this relevant to you, exactly? If you don't like it, vote for what's important to you, as I did.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
The website says 'Miliband 'to speak at noon' 9.27am. Like I said, I believe it will happen, but that's not official.

Both the Guardian and the BBC are reporting he will resign, they have obviously been briefed.

The conservatives are not far right. Both labour and conservatives are center left/right these days.

The welfare budget needs cutting. It is unsustainable. Parties previously have been skirting around the edges. While the conservatives may not have done a good job at how they've done things, something needed to be done. Personally I think it needs a complete overhaul - since things like working tax credits etc were layered on, the overall system is massively overcomplicated.

not even in the same ballpark as welfare - but take child benefit (the tories did take mine). Applied purely on the basis of a single earner rather than overall household income. So some of my neighbours with a significantly higher household income than me get to keep it, which is clearly unfair. Working family tax credits etc have the ability to measure overall household income, so why not use that as the basis for a way to properly means-test certain benefits?

Well, I respectfully disagree. And that's gonna need some citations.

I wonder if they'll stick to the referendum plan ? For some reason I have a bad feeling if we get it the K will vote to leave which I can't see being a good idea.

The amount of support UKIP have got sickens me.

Ed going to resign ? Wonder who would take over.

Woof, I suspect that this didn't mean to come off as sociopathic as it did.

it might not, but if they want to force though some more changes, Nicky (I don't have a opinion) Morgan aint going to cut it

it will be someone divisive... Ian Duncan Smith perhaps

I think firing someone because you know that they will lose you an election and then rehiring them in the same position after the election might be too cynical a move even for the Tories.

I don't think that's right at all. I think we are moving slightly right but the UK right is would barely cross the centre in some countries, particularly the US.
