Remember when Bret was a 'fighting champion' and he mostly fought jobbers and monster of the month style characters?

edit: Larry Z's reaction is better. Larry is a star, and stro's only concerned about Arn

The ONLY time I like Larry is during his time in the Dangerous Alliance. For some reason I thought Arn's reaction was super shock and not the head bobbing.

Watching some GCW. Stan Hansen murders a jobber;

Also, Bugsy McGraw showed up :|

It's crazy that so much footage of US and British wrestling has been lost, while in Japan there's colour footage from the 60's that looks cleaner than the majority of territory wrestling footage from the 80's.

Some of the 60s and 70s Japan footage looks cleaner than WWF/WCW stuff from the 90s.

Andre's Giant Roussanov match from 70s Japan is better looking than any 80s footage of him bar a few PPVs quality-wise. Japan is nuts

A completely regular no-stip NORMAL MATCH

Probably Hell in a Cell?

With Wyatt taking a bump through the cage to mock Mick Foley and give the announcers an excuse to put John Cena over as the master of extreme despite giving and not taking the bump?

Welp?

Goddammit, can't escape Bugsy McGraw. Maybe he fit in better in the 70s.

First match announced for CHIKARA's iPPV on May 25th;

. The Batiri (Obariyon, Kodama & Kobald) vs The Odditorium (Sinn Bodhi, Oliver Grimsley & Qefka the Quiet)

Also, they confirmed there will be 7 matches in total.

It was the first time he'd appeared in Georgia since the 70's, just my dumb luck that I happened to pick that disc on the set.

I got grudge sucked!

I've been watching these for a big trip down memory lane. I'm from Greensboro and the NWA was there like every other month at least.
One thing that sticks out at me, I forgot how when the music labels started cracking down of public performances of their intellectual properties, NWA didn't have a Jim Johnston to turn to, so they used real generic synth and butt rock license free music for the entrances. It was the type of shit that would be used for sports highlights and B tier action movie montages. Mr Bang Bang and Man called Sting was actually an improvement.

Awesome, that must have been a lot of fun to grow up around.

The other random thought I had (not about the NWA) is if Cena needed more power, he could have just harvested Lil Johnny for adam.

Maybe it's just me but did they tone down the size of Adam Rose's party? Or maybe it's because NXT is in a small arena?

Eh, JCP/WCW really never had good entrance themes for the most part. Sting's first (actually second, I believe, but the one directly before Man Called Sting) was dope. Entrance themes were never as important for WCW as it was WWE. In the entirety of WCW (including JCP), there are maybe 10 themes that stand out.

Thus Spoke Zarathusta
Four Horsemen theme (the mid 90s and late 90s versions)
NWO theme
DDP's theme
Raven's theme
Sting's theme (late 80s, mid 90s, and Crow)
Hollywood Blonds/Pat Tanaka/Marty Jannetty theme

WCW was always pretty content to have janky ass entrance themes and not give a shit.

I guess, but when I started watching, the LOD came out to Iron Man, Jimmy Garvin came out to Sharp Dressed Man, Rick Rude came out to Smooth Operator. And you had Bad Street and the Midnight Express theme (which wasn't exactly like the movie, but close). To go from Iron Man to synth B movie montage is drastic and bad.

EDIT: DDP and Raven's theme were generic Nirvana rip offs. Raven's WWE theme was pretty awesome before they added the screaming lyrics and took out the chanting.

Seraphis Cain

bad gameplay lol

Yo how could you forget Malenko's theme and Mysterio's first theme? Not to mention Goldberg, just for how iconic it was. Sure it was music WCW bought from a stock music library, but whatever.

I'm also partial to ***** ******'s theme. Pretty sure I heard it in a porn once.
