I was very disappointed that WWE backpedaled so much on Zeb Coulter and wouldn't let them go absolutely bananas. It's all theater. People are racist in movies. Why not let it bleed over? I think you could get a much larger crowd reaction (though not how they'd want, but still.)

No, it's not religion. It's the general culture and media that surrounds it. Even the depiction of death in the US is pretty tame compared to the rest of the world. Our news never shows gruesome stuff. Never. In the rest of the world, even places more religious, the news shows everything.

That's not really true in the US, either. I would argue that there is greater division among the states than there is in the EU, for instance. Most European countries still generally agree on some type of centrist to socialist policies, such as universal healthcare and cheap education, but in the US, the ideologies differ drastically from state to state. We literally have some states trying to set up their own universal healthcare plan, and some where the government is trying to take away all governmental help on healthcare. Some states where guns are free everywhere, and some where they're trying to get rid of them, as much as possible.
The US is just as, if not more, divided than the EU.
