It was a fun movie that made almost 9x its entire budget. The fact that WWE is going to post a loss on it, when they fronted majority of the cost, is absolutely mind-boggling.

since they work with studios they don't get the same share of the profit or any apparently.

I don't really know specifics, but I know the way box office splits revenue with theatres is pretty wacky. Maybe someone here knows more and understands how that's possible.

I liked the book, but JTG wanted to shine a little too much against SES Punk. This is like a year after Punk ran Jeff Hardy out of the business. How long do you think you should sit in a submission against a guy who has worked with just about every main eventer already by that point, even when the SES was a jobber to the stars faction?

Putting over new stars. HH

Thinking Cass would be a good heel, lol.

We talking about WWE related board games?

I'd really love some kind of card game or board game or something similar to GM Mode.

A Mobile GM Mode would be so awesome.

There is a lot of info out there if you're interested, but the basics of it are that movies are financed in a way that they are meant to lose a ton of money and can still be "successful" in that they protect investor money from taxes so that at the end of the day your movie can be a financial failure but still show the investor a net gain ROI.

Basically the carnie antics behind Hollywood financing makes Sports Entertainment carnies look like god damn children.

Saw the ESPN special.

Now I don't think I can hate Adam rose anymore and really want that guy to catch a break.

Agreed. Soft spot forever (although damn,i'm worried about their future-didn't realize Rose is so old.Dunno if he has another reinvention in him).

My prediction on cuts- Ryder, Swagger, the Matadores.

I looked, but didn't see anyone mention it. I am showing the second season starting this Friday (the 8th) if my DVR is to be believed. Airing from 6-7pm PST (and again 10:30-11:30pm) on AXS.

EDIT: Bleh, looks like it is actually a re-air of Season 1, episode 10 this Friday, and other episodes this weekend. Hopefully that means Season 2 starts soon?

Season two starts on May 22.

Observer News:

Many TNA talents have sent feelers out to other promotions and ones that contacted WWE were reportedly told that WWE is not interested in anyone from TNA, even if they were willing to go through a tryout camp first.

Unless your name is Samoa Joe and Triple H likes you.

Anyone know if this Black Lotus lady is actually any good in the ring? There's a crap load of build-up, but if she sucks it's kinda gonna hurt the story.

LATIN, MATRIPEDICABUS, DO YOU SPEAK IT
How are they LOSING MONEY on Oculus when it made $44 million dollars, $27 million of it domestically? This fucking company.

The entire total production cost, with marketing, was five million. The other two million came from the other production companies involved. HOW DID THEY FUCK THIS UP?

Hollywood accounting and how the revenue is split. Who knows how much of a percentage of that revenue actually goes back to WWE.

They did get rid of him because he sucked. He got better in TNA out of nowhere. Same thing happened to R-Truth.

TNA hasn't had matches go longer than ten minutes in two or three years now.

Well right now they have tons of longer of matches though with gimmicks. The thing is that he tore is bicep so he can't work much.

His longest match was the one with Spud.

Since when does sucking have anything to do with getting cut from WWE?

It makes you more likely to get cut. You can be great and just not used for some reason, or you can be great and you piss the wrong person off. Sucking though usually helps especially if you have zero name value.

I was surprised at his age myself and obviously I mean surprised in wrestling years. He doesn't look particularly old.

I don't think that's true, though. Didn't Lashley's defenses against Aries and Hardy go longer? And I'm pretty sure the Wolves and Hardys went 15 mins at least last summer.

Dat Superkick.

Pretty decent Alberto/Mundo match.

Also....
I guess Mil has 999 lives left now. Fenix gonna get got.

He's got two things down pat. He looks like a wrestler and can cut a great in ring promo. Nothing else really matters.

I liked EC3. Could certainly cut a promo and get you into it.

(Couldn't say much for his actual wrestling skills now that I think about it.)

ACH AND MOOSE HEADED TO AAA

The next major show, the World Cup, is 5/24 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. The complete lineup is the focal point team and Dream Team of Rey Mysterio Jr. & Alberto El Patron & Myzteziz (who should either win, or if they don’t win, it needs to be to set up a major angle), a unique team of El Texano Jr. & El Hijo del Fantasma & Psycho Clown (Texano and Psycho have been in a huge feud for a long time but are teaming together here to represent AAA); The Legends trio of Blue Demon Jr. & Dr. Wagner Jr. & Solar; The first Japan team of Masamune & Tiger Mask III (Koji Kanemoto, who worked in AAA in the 90s fairly often) & Kenso (who also worked for years as a top heel here); A second Japanese team from NOAH of Taiji Ishimori & Atsushi Kotoge & Yoshihiro Takayama; The ROH team of Moose & ACH & Brian Cage (they had wanted A.J. Styles to be the third man with Moose & ACH, but it didn’t work out, probably due to Styles being New Japan’s champion and the New Japan/CMLL relationship); The TNA team of Matt Hardy & Ken Anderson & Johnny Mundo and a rest of the world team of Jack Evans & Angelico & Drew Galloway (Galloway is a close friend of Alberto’s, so this doubles as his first look by the promotion). That’s from the AAA side. Dixie Carter said the TNA team would be Hardy & Anderson & Galloway, which makes sense, and would put Mundo with Evans & Angelico in the best of the world team, but the indications we have is the AAA version is the accurate one, since it’s their show.

anyone got video of this

Phil Baroni did his first actual pro wrestling match on 4/25 for Future Stars of Wrestling at the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas. Baroni, who was managed by Chuck Zito and Jon Fitch, beat his trainer, Michael Modest, who was managed by Disco Inferno. So funny to see Fitch working as a pro wrestling second because for years he hated pro wrestling. He was a fan as a young kid and then hated it when he figured out it wasn’t real, and now he’s performing in it. As for Baroni, he looked way better than a guy in his first match should look, in fact tons better than all but elite level guys look in their first match, but he was working against his trainer. Fitch never got involved past being a second. However, when Disco interfered, Zito was chasing him around ringside.
