Brah when are they gonna fansub DDT?

It's sad that ridiculous Japanese tentacle rape porn gets stubbed but there's still no kind of subbing at all for puro. The story-lines are generally simple and easy to follow in Japanese wrestling so if you're watching like AJPW or BJW or whatever you're probably going to be fine on your own but following stuff like DDT and DG can be a bit harder. Especially now that I've basically completely fallen off the scene and just want to watch a couple shows a year. I never know whats going on.

PWG and EVOLVE both doing Generico/Riccochet is nuts. The PWG match is going to be crazy.

Also, hi wrastlegaf. I lurk and stuff. Was waiting for a reason to bring up tentacle porn before I posted.

I'd lend my support to recommending CHIKARA as an alternative to watch. PG Wrestling done correctly.

Yeah I still haven't checked them out. Is it easy to jump into it? Heck I've been watching WWE for like 20 years. There is just so much history.

Considering I watch for the characters/storyline/silliness more than anything else, seems like a right fit. Don't get me wrong I like good fun wrestling matches, but without the story.... would not watch. Sometimes I fast forward Smackdown just for promos.

Nah, Cena burried Barrett with 1,000 chairs and sent him to mid-card hell.

Remember when Barrett beat Cena and Cena was forced to be a part of Nexus and we were hoping and praying for character progression for Cena and we had a dominant heel, then it went tits up.

Thats why D.Bryan character is so compelling everyshow seems to progress his character and not paddling in the pool of staleness that so may on the roster now have with the characters they are portraying.

Except Chikara isn't PG, it's G mostly.

Honestly, I think I skipped most of that on tv because it seemed like a repeat of the JBL angle and Cena's acting with Barrett was horrible.

That had to be done to get people cheering Cena again. If you don't remember, this was around the time of 'We've Cena Nough'. This was when fans still cheered Kurt Angle despite Kurt making Jesus tap out,.

Mick Foley, Atushi Onita, and Terry Funk all had exceptionally long careers, and they're pretty much the biggest hardcore wrestlers of all time.

Terry Funk was not a garbage wrestler until he was almost 50. Bad comparison. He was a very good ring technician, check out his 89 stuff with Flair. One of the best feuds ever.

Foley only did what he did because he was mediocre at technical wrestling- I saw his early career.

Onita is just Onita. There isn't another Onita.

See I tried ROH but the low production standards was a bit of a turnoff. I watched the first TV tapings but just couldn't get into it. My first comeback was in TNA's heyday. That product blew me away with the x-division and the talent. AJ, joe, Daniels, dutt, petey Williams, Roode, Storm, MCM. Then what happens? The wcw boys take a huge shit on the product and turned it into more nonsense than the wwe. Call me when Heyman makes a comeback ;)

DGUSA/Evolve is the closest to an X-Division company around.

Personally I'd highlight PWG and Chikara as the best two indies at the moment. Chikara is low budget but manage to put out a fantastic and entertaining product within their limited means.

Chikara works in "Seasons" running Januaryish to Novemberish, as long as you jump in at the starting point of any season you'll be pretty much good to go. 2010 has an especially fun and probably a good place to get into it.

Actually the over the top battle to become no. 1 contender was really well done, especially when Barrett ordered Cena to get him a glass of water segment.

See Soulplaya, Kane is scaring away new members.....and this guy is into tentacle porn.

I'm getting some interesting ideas for Kanes next character change. Also, watching tentacle porn: more or less socially acceptable than watching wrestling? Makes you think right?

We won't judge you in the Kane Klique. You can watch whatever you want. Unconditional love is what family's all about.

Daniel isn't Mexican though, Del Rio's push was all about getting that Mexican audience which is probably their biggest. Vegans just don't have that type of pull these days.

But Bryan did what no one (Chrisitian, Orton and Mark Henry) had done since Edge retired, be a good draw for SD.

Ratings went up when Henry was champ though?

Henry was amazing before winning the title.

After becoming champion, he feuded with the Big Show and that's what fucked up his momentum.

It was amazing how quickly Henry went from being the bad-ass monster putting people into the Hall of Pain, to a whiny little bitch, complaining to Big Johnny when things didn't go his way and doing his best to duck the Big Show.

when i charge for air you keep yo bills PAID, should get him a slammy. he has become my favorite monster heel, and his shirt is perfect (all will suffer) that clearly needs to be on the FRONT of his shirt...doesnt even need his face. but then feeding him to big show...damn, why they didnt push bigshow as a monster champ is beyond me ....and then Henry got hurt.

Do Paul London and Brian Kendrick still do shoot interviews? Or was that a one time thing?

Seems to have been a one-time thing, which is a shame - I don't think Paul London is very interested in wrestling any more. He only seems to appear for some really small-time indies without much national exposure.

It's just Paul. This is still when he was kind of going Charlie Sheen crazy in promos and shoots and everyone thought it was hilarious. It's probably terrible. It might be amazing.

I think that's the collection of all the weird videos he posted on youtube, trash talking Matt Hardy. They weren't very good, just odd.

Jushin Thunder Liger! _O_

Yeah, felt like I needed a change from Road Warrior Animal, and who better than Liger?

D Bryan has come a long way since last year.

He and Punk are going to have an incredible match.

edit: also, we should change the thread title to reflect on this awesome match-up.

I'd already tried to nominate a change in title to this.....

Oh come on now, that big bastard put Bryan and AJ over. That sole fact makes him 100x better than Cena would ever be.

I wonder if the higher-ups enjoyed their series on Raw/Smackdown leading towards Mania as much as we all did.
We know that at least Triple H now believes that Punk can "hang" (why he needed to kill his momentum in September to do it is beyond anyone but whatever). So maybe they really do get Bryan's value.

I think I may be done with WWE for a while. I don't think I can stand watching Cena on tv anymore, and Brock's already done, he might as well not come back.

I like to think my purchasing D-Bry's shirt helped facilitate his continued push.

I like to think he's gonna win.

This feud needs loads of AJ too. YES!

D-Bry is done with AJ, he's moving to RAW and leaving her and the dead weight of Smackdown behind.

Throwing him against the Big Show just demonstrates what a complete lack of imagination the writing staff have.

He's had some good matches himself against CM Punk after that though.

I don't care where the match is on the card, as long as they give Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk 15+ minutes and the clean finish it deserves, I'm happy.

I feel sorry for SD, it's been my favourite TV show since its inception by Dwayne. Maybe Del Rio will eventually pick up the slack. When is the next Mexican tour?

And this isn't over for AJ, she will turn into a stalker, until she eventually gets Danny just where she wants him:

At least we can all admit that John L. is one of the best things to come out of WWE TV in a long time.
