Surprised so many people keep bringing this up instead of focusing on pure boxing skill which obviously shows Pac is not as good as Mayweather.

Well if we're doing this, then Ray Rice should be back on a team quick, and we should let Aaron Hernandez play football again...

Also, it was more of an observation. I didn't have a dog in the fight really.

I wonder if that KO from Marquez lingered in his thoughts while boxing Mayweather? Like maybe he was too afraid of being too aggressive and going to sleep for a 2nd time

I'm not even a casual boxing fan, I've seen maybe a handful of fights in my life, and I enjoyed this fight. I thought it was extremely exciting.

He's not an offensive fighter, if you went into the fight expecting that then your an idiot.

I've know better than to expect anything entertaining out of mayweather for a looonng time. Except this time they fooled the world into thinking this was worth our time, let alone our money.

Manny may have lost, but he sure as hell was not defeated by Money.

Shitty fight, like pretty much any involving Money in the last few years and any super hyped boxing match lately. Shouldn't have stayed up for this.

dudes are legit mad that the Mayweather fight they paid for...was in fact a Mayweather fight.

this is what happens when you think real life is like TV in which the bad guy loses and shit.

naw sons naw

I love the real boxing fans laughing at the casual fans reaction. It's clear the remaining fans of the sport are content with it not expanding its audience.

Ask any boxing fan if they'd take a rematch of this or Tyson - Lewis...

lol this is said every time he fights. i'm not a fan of mayweather either but i appreciate his skill so i watch the fights. in fact i wanted pac to win a controversial split decision for the shit storm that would have happened afterwards.

Believe me the "casuals" that feel ripped off, which I bet is a lot of them, won't want to follow mayweather fights. Which sadly seem to be the biggest matches boxing has to offer and garner the most attention
attention.

Floyd is the best ever. I saw greatness.

I'm salty Manny did not admit he won. I am a Pac fan but take the L graciously.

With that said, I'm buying TMT merchandise. Hehehe

That was a great performance by Mayweather and a damn good technical boxing match. I think the casual boxing fans will shit on the fight though and complain because "I paid $100 so I should get to see knockouts" is the mentality there. I mean, there's a reason Pacquiao wasn't able to be as aggressive as usual during the fight and it's not because he's a moron. It's because Mayweather is just that good at controlling a fight.

Yes! Pac awesome, but he was controlled here. It pretty much is like watching a masterful keep away lock down technique in a fitting game. Not gonna please the fans unless you understand fundamentally how hard t might be to do

Everyone complaining it was boring, what did you expect?

It's like eating Taco Bell and then being surprised or upset when your ass is exploding on the toilet 20 minutes later.

I wonder if that KO from Marquez lingered in his thoughts while boxing Mayweather? Like maybe he was too afraid of being too aggressive and going to sleep for a 2nd time

I think he got over it.

Floyd is just a different beast.

People expecting a KO should not watch a mMayweather fight.

Pacquiao - Marquez series is the one to watch for that.

I don't regret the $100 PPV. Mayweather gave another incredible boxing clinic.

I don't like him one bit, but he's easily in the top 5 of all time.

Top 5?

Sugar Ray Robinson
Ali
Sugar Ray Leonard
Hagler
Duran
Joe Louis
Dempsey
Tyson

Floyd is a great fighter but I don't know if he's Top 5.

Floyd got the counter punch, speed, tactical hugging (lol) and shoulder roll defense. How would you defeat that kind of boxer haha

One of the best undefeated boring boxer of all time. A master strategist.

Get a ref who doesn't allow excessive holding would be a big step but that's never going to happen because Mayweather's record and reputation will always put him in the drivers seat in negotiations.

That isn't a knock against Mayweather though. It's part of the meta-game in boxing. Which judges are picked, which ref is picked, ring size, type of gloves, etc.. are all little things that can influence the results of a fight that a fan usually never knows about and in every match where one fighter's name eclipses the other will see those details side in their favor.

That's the status quo though and fighters go in there knowing that these are the factors so they obviously think they can overcome them if they take the fight (or in some cases, just want the payday). /shrug Can't be helped really.

Went the way always expected it to. Were people expecting a throwdown in the middle of the ring like Rocky IV? lol

You know that actually happened once upon a time. Hagler v Hearns was exactly that. One of the greatest fights you'll ever see.

From someone who hasn't seen boxing since the 2012 olympics, I'm sure it takes a lot of technique to win a match this way but it sure looks boring. I was on Pacmans side the whole match as a result of that.

I've been watching boxing for two decades, trained in a boxing gym for 5 years and I ain't never seen two fighters hug at the beginning of the final round.

They were like fuck everybody we richer now homey!!

Christ, that fight was dull. I haven't watched much boxing in recent years, so call me a shit if you want, but its weird to see such a level of conservatism, on both sides. Complete lack of aggression, at least thats what I perceived it as.

Mayweather fought in an extremely boring style, which nearly put me to sleep with how late this match ran at night. How the hell are they calling this the "match of the century" when nothing happened the whole fight. Mayweather evaded Pacquaio the entire bout, preferring to fish for counter punches. How is that suppose to be entertaining? I want to see fools get fucked up! MMA has more action than this crappy boxing match.

I'm not even a casual boxing fan, I've seen maybe a handful of fights in my life, and I enjoyed this fight. I thought it was extremely exciting.

Same. Friends and alcohol definitely helped, but it was exciting regardless.

I think the spectacle was a major part though.

I'm one of those casual fans and I thought the fight was very boring (besides the initial thrill). Both guys looked totally unharmed and energetic even after the final bell rang. It just didn't seem like much of a fight...

I guess Hajime no Ippo (and boxing movies) ruined real boxing for me.
