Mayweather's camp has probably been spying on Pac's training for years, waiting for the moment Pac stood no chance. Dude has legit killed boxing, I'm registered and I don't even bother watching anymore.

If Pac manages to somehow pull out the W, I won't know what to do with myself.

If anything, the long wait hurt Mayweather more than Pacquiao. Mayweather has looked iffy his past few fights, even Maidana gave him a little trouble. Pacquiao is no Maidana.

Cotto/Golovkin needs to happen now, though my guess is that Cotto wants no part of Gennady.

Cotto would absolutely demolish Golovkin. I wasn't sure before, but after seeing how easy he got hit vs. Murray, I have no doubts. Maybe he just didn't respect Murray, but I think people are getting too excited about his run against subpar competition.

I'd like some of the crack you've been smoking

All the more reason for the fight to happen, then?

In reality, Cotto already has a solid legacy and a fanbase passionate enough to watch him fight any number of middleweight/junior middleweight clowns. This gives him little reason to step into the ring with Golovkin and risk being truly brutalized for the first time since 2009.

Gennady's name recognition and popularity grows by the day. A unification bout more than makes sense. That it won't happen only furthers the public's growing disenchantment with boxing's inability to put out intriguing matchups.

On topic, I'm thrilled for the Mayweather/Pacquiao bout. Let's hope this provides the shot in the arm the sport so sorely needs.

Pac is out!

Floyd will punch the hell out of him.

There's probably a shit ton of money involved, they know people want to see this fight for a very long time and both Manny and Floyd are gonna be richer, like a lot, with this fight.

Still, it's gonna be a good show for sure !

GGG has chin to spare. I remember him getting chinned often in the bout vs Stevens, and just smiled and continued to beat him up, haha. GGG didn't respect Murray as much as others have, but that's not because he's got a poor defence, but more because he didn't feel the need to fight that way vs the opposition.

Cotto vs GGG would be a good fight, but I gotta give it to GGG. Workrate, chin, stamina, power... It's just a shame he's around in a pretty weak MW era - Lets not forget that Murray was ranked #2, and beat Sergio Martinez, despite what the records say.

The big fight for GGG, imo, is Froch at 168. He'd have to up his defensive game for that bout, and be extra clinical in his finishing.

I agree, Maidana's pressure troubled Floyd, and Pacman is a much better offensive fighter than Maidana.

Pac needs to start very quickly and tag Mayweather early like Mosley did - then we have a fight.

Cotto also gave Floyd far more trouble than he gave Manny.

Still, for me it's about 70-30 Mayweather UD.

I hope Manny can at least put Floyd on the canvas, even if Money still wins, that would hurt his pride a lot!

This is why I love boxing over UFC...but the lack of consistent fights are what make boxing less popular than UFC. There's simply not enough consistency in the boxing world. UFC is practically on daily...it's become mainstream, and boxing has taken a backseat unfortunately.

Looking forward to one good fight per year is stagnating.

I will definitely get this on PPV though ;)

That fight won't even go passed 2 rounds. GGG is knocking out legitimate middleweights in less than 5 rounds. Cotto's not even a real middleweight and has no business at 160, hell, cotto shouldn't even be at 154. Dudes like Lara, Canelo and even Kirkland would beat him.

That's an overstatement, but yeah, its a physical and skill mismatch. GGG is simply bigger and better than Cotto. Cotto has no tools that would enable him to win rounds. And Cotto's chin is worse than the guys GGG has been KOing at 160.

Cotto would get destroyed, it would be similar to Cotto/Margarito 1, GGG would cut off the ring and punish him.

Hopefully the fight is more entertaining than the press confernce, but that's doubtful since it's a Mayeather fight. Here's hoping local bars will have this fight on and not charge some bs cover to get in.

Is there going to be a way to watch this legally online?

You would have to think they would miss out on a lot of money if there isn't.

If you go to pinoygreats.com, there should be a link for the Press Conference.

Clean conference atm. Both fighters respect each other.

Many guys had said that May had a sizeable height advantage over Pac... well it sure as hell wasn't apparent today at the press conference.

The most views a fight like this has had is around 2.5 million thanks to ppv.

Ive got money riding on this.. A bet for 100$ that it will not break 4 million lol.

The most recent and 2nd highest watched was 65$ and 2.25million viewers. This fight is 95$ no way we will see almost double the viewers.

So in order for me to enjoy this at home, I need to charge people 10 bucks at the door. Seems like a shitty deal. I'll just have to go to a sports bar. Sigh.

The bar will probably charge you. At least that's how it used to work at Bar's showing UFC PPV's They had a cover because people would order food and a drink and then sit there and not move for 3 hours. Public places get charged a shitload to be allowed to air a PPV.

Honestly, charging friends is a much better way to go. If my best friend were getting this, I'd gladly chip in 10 bucks for it, and then another 10 for food\booze. You'll get it payed for with tons of snacks and beer and it's cheaper for everyone.

anyone else gonna go watch the fight in Vegas? i don't mean buying tickets to the fight, just watching it on the TVs with the other billion people who are doing the same thing.

hotel rates seem a bit high, but not too bad at some places. any know any hotel recommendations for may 2nd weekend?

I don't know... I'm cutting the cord Monday and going with Sling TV. I may have to go to a bar.

Some bars have a minimum food/drink you have to order per hour per person in your party. Like you said they don't want people babysitting a Corona and taking up space for 3 hours.
