So, what is the difference between JPG and PNG ?
I thought that they are both :
- 256+ color, probably 16 Million color (24 bit, unlike GIF, which is 8 bit)
- lossy compression (unlike GIF, which is lossless)
- didn't support multi frame (which is supported by GIF)
I am especially curious about why PNG are better for small details, while JPG are not good for details. Is it in the compression method ?
