Wait till next week, the system warriors will be out in spades waiting for PSP to outsell the DS due to MH2.

Next week should be interesting either way!

Wait, I know Jonnyram has been saying the PSP will outsell the DS next week, but I really hope he's not being serious. Does anybody really expect the PSP to increase in hardware sales by more than 500%? Plus if they had big refill of Wii's they probably refilled DS's, so the numbers might be even higher for the DS.

They did restock DSL and Wii systems yesterday, evidenced by the pics of the MH launch and Amazon. The DSL is very likely to still be on top this week.

You put that anime title and dating sim together.

It's twice as gamey.

Anyway, I think we can all now agree that Japan loves games again. GO GAMES! GO JAPAN!

Well, it's easy to see that Japan doesn't like to play games anymore.

This is better, right?

So a pachinko game starring the charactors from Winter Sonata is a real game and New Super Mario Brothers isn't?

What? All you do in NSMB is hold right and press 'A' once in a while. Hardly even qualifies as a non-game.

Now Pachinko, you need skill and dexterity to succeed. Truly a game for the hardcore.

This Week Sales:
mc-sales-070212.jpg

Since 11/27/07 - 12 total weeks:
360 - Following the trend: 4-6k. Next Gen Avg = 12,376. Post Holiday Avg = 6,559.
Wii - Lowest week. Following the trend: 65-75k. Next Gen Avg = 132,228. Post Holiday Avg = 78,628.
PS3 - Following the Trend: 18-23k. Next Gen Avg = 41,714. Post Holiday Avg = 21,578.

mc-LTDs-12.jpg

Results, Analysis, & Expectations
The 360's sales are insignificant. They will not hit 1 million units before its successor is announced. 2k-6k per week for the foreseeable future.

The PS3 has flopped thus far. Almost three months and the biggest title increased hardware sales by ~4k. Multiple factors can be considered, but price must be chief among them. Expected mediocrity until at least October. 18k-25k per week for the foreseeable future.

The Wii is clearly dependent upon hardware shipments, and appears to be selling every unit shipped (65-85k per week) Until Nintendo can supply Japan with as many Wii as they want, we'll never truly know the impact of individual software units. One might assume that they would hold some units back for the impending big releases like DQS. 65k-80k until production increases.

Expectations for 02/05-02/12
360 - 5k
Wii - 69k <--- Shipment dependent.
PS3 - 20k <--- Darker times ahead.

02/12-02/18: 13% 62% 26%

Significant Notes:
1. Wii has a 929k lead on PS3 in 11 weeks; at a constant rate of this week's repetition, the Wii will have a 1 million unit lead on the PS3 in exactly 2 weeks.
2. The PS3 has never been closer week-to-week with the Wii than 20k units, and 45k units this year.
3. The PS3 hasn't sold more than 76k units in one week since launch.
4. The Wii hasn't sold less than 63k units in one week since launch.
5. The PS3 has never come closer than 28% market share, and hasn't gained market share since its second week on sale.
6. The Wii hasn't lost market share since it went on sale, and has had greater than 60% for five weeks now.

7. The PS3 just had its 3rd worst week ever with 20k units sold.
8. The Wii just had it's worst week ever, and still outsold the PS3 by 3.08x

I stand corrected. That is pretty hardcore. So is this guy from Winter Sonata.

3. PSP - 34,505 | 32,175 | 337,618 | 4,869,747
DS sales down from last week, PSP sales up, clearly PSP is closing the gap!

not that it's a huge deal - but according to your data this isn't correct:

Code:
[B][U]Date____ 360 Wii PS3[/U][/B]
12/18-12/24: 17% 57% 26%
12/25-12/31: 16% 56% 28%
01/01-01/07: 15% 58% 27%

the Wii actually does lose market share on the week of 12/25-12/31. At least according to this.

Also I think a lot of fanboys on all sides have retired for now to lick their wounds from the January NPD.

So Nintendo fans a licking their wounds after Jan NPD, too?

No one gets wounded from the numbers themselves, silly. Only from the massive internet firestorms that rage through the cyberworld immediately thereafter. And Nintendo fans are just as susceptible to those firestorms as anyone else.

FEX might be the worst selling in the series. That would really mean something, since Thracia and Fepor did so poorly. There really needs to be a revamp of that series in a huge way.

I hope FE does better over the next few days, looks like MHP sold out 100%.

I'm sure it'll sell at least 100k-150k in Japan lifetime, though that isn't a lot - isn't it what FE does on average? 50k isn't a bad opening day, but it's not that great either.

Wow at MHP2 sales!! I'd guess ~750k on the chart, which would be an amazing start, should defintely become a million seller.

Good start for FE, higher than I expected. Probably 70-80k for the week, it may reach PoR's numbers, or just below at 120-130k, which is expected.

Looks like my 750k prediction could be pretty spot on when the weekend's done. I hear stocks are rather low, however.

Nintendo's stockpiling DS carts for... oh wait.

Two Capcom million sellers soon = :D:D:D

It's good considering what PoR did and the userbase I guess... I expected better though.

So who are the trolls who keeping saying Capcom is suiciding themselves with the PSP?
One game franchise doing well doesn't really justify the sales of the other games that couldn't even chart.

Defuser said:
You're forgetting Gundam Musou :D
Huh? What about it?

Wow @ MHP2, I predicted 550k, look like it'll be closer to 800K next week. Amazing sales.

Disappointing for Naruto, decent for FE, considering the userbase.

Error

Jealous of the Glory that is Johnny Depp
FE Wii wasnt going to be a huge seller :p

I dont know if people were expecting it to be a huge seller, it's a hardcore series for fans.

Does this mean that PSP H/W will ge a huge boost, say to 100K or even 150K (I dare not predict a 200K / week for PSP, for fear of my live) ? Tune in next week, in the best M-create weekly in 2007 (ever) :).
