When is "japanese" easter happening? is nintendo launching anything special for the wii/ds?
Super Paper Mario and Big Brain Academy for the Wii. Think it might be the nail in the coffin...

No. It was not. It was a combination of events. My Chemical Mouse said:No it was the Lite. All the way up to and including May 2006 PSP was beating DS on a monthly basis and slowly but surely cutting into the lead. Nintendogs, Brain Age and NSMB were all released and still PSP was on a course to catch up.
DS Lite came out, sold something like 600k it's launch month and the system has not been sub 200k since i believe. It's quite obvious DS Lite saved Nintendo in America.
But let's get back on topic, this is a Japanese thread. Sorry.
EDIT - Went a bit extreme.

I think it might just sell better. No competition from alternate brain games, less competition from other games period, and the great multiplayer may be an easier sell when only one system is needed. My Chemical Mouse said:Anyone else think Big Brain Academy Wii won't sell nearly as well as it did on handhelds ala Pokemon.

I'm not going to speak for Donny but you are extrapolating a lot of stuff that he did not say. The rebranding of the DS has been an important part of its success and he was just using that as an example for how Sony could salvage the PS3 trainwreck. He didn't say anything about the DSL "saving the DS", so that's just a silly.Great Rumbler said:Come on, now. That's grade-A spin if I've ever seen it.
"PS3 sales are completely terrible in Japan, but that's okay because it's a Bluray player as well and it'll last 2-3 years until the price is lower and then it'll be rebranded for GREAT SUCCESS! Just like the DS!"
And the last part is really absurd. The DS wasn't miraculously saved by the Lite. The Lite was simply the extra boost it needed to propel it into the upper atmosphere. Remember Christmas '05? That was DS Phat.
Ahh. Good. We still get his number breakdowns though, wich is a good thing.schuelma said:I think someone else said Panther told him it was a month long ban.

I don't think that he was saying that "PS3 sales are ok" either, just that Sony could potentially find a way to rebound.
