This is expected because of the surge in the software sales ala NSMB or AC.
As I stated many times before, if Nintendo can ship enough DS Lites, NSMB sales will be above 100k throughout the year.

I don't know how Nintendo can ship enough supply with the upcoming releases of games like FF III, Tingle RPG, WE, Pokemon D/P and even another new DS Lite color release (black) which all can only increase the demand. Why the hell Nintendo doesn't do anything to increase its production capacity? At this rate they can't even match the demand in summer let alone the holiday season.
