Now that we have finally received screens for Over My Dead Body 2 how well do you think it could sell? The IP looks decently strong from the PSX version and PSP remake sales.
I expect close to these numbers. Should do at least 100k min.Physical sales only:
[PS] Over My Dead Body - 137,559
[PSP] Over My Dead Body - 124,899
The first game sold very well on PSN in Japan, which is why the PSP remake was made.

Agreed. Not the most sound strategy. The Vita TV targeting the family audience makes absolutely zero sense to me. Tearaway and Gravity Rush aren't playable on it, so what the hell do they have to attract the family audience?
Guys, guys the real question is:
Will Pokemon save the 3DS?Almost sorry

Some retailer blogs talk for increased demand for 3DS LL last days. Everyone is preparing for Saturday.
Isn't that how it's been the last two weeks?
No since they talk for big increase

All this talk of Vita compatibility (or possibly lack there of) glosses over the fact that it should play PSP games (well all of the ones on PSN) with zero issues at all. I know that is one of the reasons why I want one. Wonder how many people that would draw in Japan. They should have added a UMD drive.

So it's been 2 years since the MH4 announcement and no other hunting action series has followed. Not what I expected really.
Something has started moving in the last months, due to One Piece: Unlimited World Red and Toriko: Ultimate Survival, but hopefully more things will happen on that front.

Funny you say that because Capcom seems to be expecting quite a bit from Gaist Crusher.
I think it's possible for the next God Eater to have a 3DS iteration, unless it's like a super massive hit on Vita or something.

Pretty sure the PSP is the lead platform.
Oh yeah that's a good example.
Though Capcom following Capcom kind of flows naturally.
Heh, yeah.
I joked a while ago that Vita is getting the original MonHun clones while 3DS is getting licensed ones. It's probably extra convenient for Namco Bandai to combine their One Piece and Toriko licenses with one of the most popular genres.
On the other hand, we can't ignore that two of the important Hunting Action Vita titles are SCE games, namely Soul Sacrifice and Freedom Wars, while Nintendo has done nothing in the genre (maybe because of Capcom?). Not that it's a bad thing but it skews the perception a bit. Of course, Phantasy Star, God Eater and to a lesser extent Toukiden are fantastic "gets" for Sony and the Vita.
Gaist Crusher is the first non-MonHun effort for the 3DS but... I can't come up with anyone to make more.
- NB has their licensed stuff and God Eater seems unlikely
- SEGA has their plate full with PSO2 and (hopefully) tri-Ace offline Phantasy Stars
- Square-Enix tried their hand at the genre with Lord of Arcana, which sold somewhat decently. Lord of Apocalypse bombed badly. Maybe they'll try with a more lighthearted game on 3DS?
- Konami... lol
- Marvelous announced an "online heavy" game called "Dragon Marked for Death" made by inti-creates which could be a Hunting Action title but we haven't heard about it in ages
I dunno, maybe there's just no-one there to make these games :lol
I know the subseries is likely dead but I honestly expected a hunting action Crystal Chronicles game on the 3DS.
Konami's was Frontier Gate by... tri-Ace lol.
And maybe MAQL is waiting for MH4 to release DMFD, though Inti-Creates is busy with Mighty No.9...
That's... actually a good one. The series ended on a low note with Crystal Bearers but the last multiplayer entry sold 300k across DS and Wii. Could be ripe for a return.
Are you sure about Frontier Gate? I thought that had turn-based battles.
Yeah God Eater 2 Burst for 3DS and Vita makes loads of sense; they have both audiences, the original Sony audience and the current MH audience on 3DS.
Could've sworn it was a MH clone, maybe I'm wrong?
We make fun of Sony for having all these MH imitators but its helping building a audience for those games on vita. GE 2 sould sell very well because of this.
