It does look like it is going to have a rough final quarter 2012 in Japan though.

Huh wonder if they will do one this month. Thought it wasn't happening with the Wii U Nintendo Directs last month.

The conferences were always live events with an actual audience, and were mostly about new announcements, whereas ND is mostly about detailing already announced titles. I would be kinda surprised if there was no Nintendo Conference 2012 within the next two weeks.

A while back, several rumors circulated around the Japanese blogosphere. Many of the things seemed credible, but others are outlandish. However, with the announcement of Rhythm Thief R: Emperor Napoleon's Legacy for 3DS today, the whole batch becomes much more credible. So duckroll and I decided it might be good idea to put together a little checklist thread so we can see how these things play out in the coming weeks.

[x] 4 Warriors of Light 2, 3DS ** Renamed to Bravely Default
[x] Monster Hunter Tri G, 3DS
[x] Miku Hatsune (SD style), 3DS
[x] New Shining game using Valkyria systems and characters from Shining Hearts, PSP
[x] Sega has a Layton-like game but with rhythm action instead of puzzles, to be announced at TGS.
[ ] Bayonetta 2 is in development and is planned for release at the same time as a theatrical Bayonetta CG movie.
[ ] Vita launch later this year, Monster Hunter 3rd HD will be announced at TGS to be a launch title.

They all ended up being true, except arguably Bayonetta 2, and frankly I think that was true. I think they started the project, I think the project got cancelled and thus never announced. I think Nintendo rescued it.

That was being made by Sega's CG department, so presumably it died at the same time Bayonetta 2 did.

Yeah, Bayonetta movie no go, MHP3rd HD Vita no go, and while Persona 2: Eternal Punishment for PSP was a-go it was a 2012 release.

That list was really amazing; if some things were predictable, such MH stuffs and DQX being a MMORPG, others were completely impossible to think before the announcement, e.g. Rhythm Thief, or the T4WOL-esque RPG by S-E (many were expecting FFV remake).

I would have really appreciated a similar list this year!

Well they still called it Nintendo World, so it counts!! Anyway my original question was just an enquiry. I hope that whatever we get (ND, Retailer's conference, Nintendo Blowout, etc) are worthwile. I can't wait to see what lies ahead for the 3DS (and Wii U).
