Can confirm it's true, you get ignored when the other babies are born, expected to "Grow up" faster, get punished harder for "Being old enough to know better" (Only two years difference). Younger siblings get better presents, clothes or whatever than you had because your parents are now earning more money so they get spoiled.

The worst kid to be when you've grown up is the youngest becuse it's the last baby your mother will have and she doesn't don't want to let go and keeps spoiling so he turns into a massive man child.

On the plus side though, being ignored gives you more freedom as they are glad you are out the house, and you'll likely have your own bedroom as your the oldest.

Had a laugh yesterday when that guy with the Garfield avatar in the Sony sexism topic and he's being all male feminist said he used to get beaten by his parents and grandmother with a cane in the third world country he grew up in and that would never happen in the west because your parents would get arrested and put in jail! :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I remember teaching my younger brothers to sell one of my dads beatings like a football player that got fouled. If you tough it out in silence, not wanting to look like a pussy of defiant and say "Didn't hurt" he'd keep beating us until he thought he'd hurt us. So the lightest of slaps you'd be OWWWWW AHHH that hurt.. and he'd stop.

Except my little brother one time tried that on a slap my dad whiffed and missed him with. He got more slaps for lying about it or something.

I’ve had a moment this afternoon to think about what kind of person I am, and I’ve come to realise that I’m extremely self-destructive. I’ll be faced with the prospect of being happy with something, get scared, so destroy it before I have a chance of being happy. I’ve done it with all my past relationships and even some jobs. It’s a cycle I can’t get out of.

Are you me? My gf and I are very similar. We simply don't talk about politics because it can lead to pretty hellish fights. The sex is also fantastic so I put up with her socialist ass.

I just noticed a giant plot hole in the third Harry Potter book/film. Towards the end, when Harry and Hermoine go back in time to save Buckbeak and Sirius, a scene plays out in which Hermoine throws a pumpkin seed at the back of Past Harry’s head in order to draw his attention to Dumbledore and Fudge approaching Hagrid’s hut. When she does this, Future/Present exclaims that he too felt the seed hit him. From this, we can assume that Future Harry feels exactly what Past Harry feels.

If we are applying this level of rationale, then the scene that follows, in which Future Harry casts a Patronus charm to save the lives of Past Harry and Sirius from the Dementors. But, and this is where the plot hole lies, as the Dementors are sucking out Past Harry’s soul and causing his body a great deal of pain and torment, shouldn’t Future Harry also be affected? He should be curled up on the floor too, unable to cast the Patronus. By rights, Past Harry (and, by extension, Future Harry) and Sirius should both be dead.

Lazy writing, JK. I’m disappointed.
