Sorry if asked. While all the discussion on what it could be is getting me all hyped. What I want to know is when will they actually reveal what it is?

Reading the script for TGS stage show.

They are both canon and thus part of the story whether you like it or not.

Even Kojima himself touted about how important PO was to MGS4's story and how they couldn't finish MGS4's story without finishing PO's first.

Half the problem with Twin Snakes is that the Cutscenes are different. And again that's Kojima's fault. They originally made them 1:1 but Kojima told them to CHANGE them and do them differently.

Just because he didn't direct them, doesn't make them any less good or important. By that logic both ZOE games are turds because he didn't even do game design or direct either of those games.

"Metal Gear" Encompases everything that isn't a "mainline" game. So it's entirely possible.

Where? And when? I've never seen him express anything but thinly veiled contempt for PO.

I think Kojima said he wouldn't mind a MGS1 with Fox Engine but he wants another studio to handle it.

I wonder how difficult it would be to use models from the fox engine and rework them. I personally love the MGS games but have missed a few of them so a nice collection with everyone would be amazing. If I recall one of the more recent collections excluded some of the games.

Because Twin Snakes probably won't ever seen a non-nintendo release. Twin Snakes was also a completely different game than MGS1 in a lot of ways.

as a guy who's naver played this, would you care to elaborate?

Twin Snakes has the same level layout and enemy placement, but it has all of MGS2's gameplay systems grafted on; First person view, hiding bodies, etc. Of course since MGS1 was never meant to be played with MGS2's gameplay abilities, this means it's pretty easy to go into first person mode and just tranq dart everyone in the game from safety since the levels are pretty open in their layout. Also ruins some boss battles if you abuse it. The cut scenes are completely redone in an even more over-the-top Japanese flair, kinda like a John Woo film if he were on acid, with Snake doing increasingly silly things like backflip somersaulting off an enemy missile into the air while shooting rocket launcher and lots and lots of bullet time. Most all of the cyborg ninja scenes are friggin awesome though because, well, he's a cyborg ninja and he has an excuse for doing insane things. And the infamous hallway scene, well, you actually get to see it happen.

I have already bought these games soooo many times. there is something wrong with me when I saw the thread title and went "Oh yeah!".

IO didnt buy the legacy collection becuase I already had all the games in pyhsical form and the legacy collection didnt add anything new. I will buy this if:
Metal gear Solid Twin snakes is included HD remaster
all of MGS HD collection at full 1080p
mgs 4 1080p 60 fps

I feel like this will be an announcement for a new action figure line up with ever character through out the Mgs series. Which I'm cool with, snow suit genome soldier will be a first buy.

Have a feeling its gonna be something like this and not a game at all. Everyone will be disappoint.

Fox engine remakes of 1-3? Really? It's going to be a dump of the HD collection to PC + Ground Zeroes. Maybe an exclusive demo of MGS5. No one does legit remakes anymore.

Maybe Portable Ops could be redeemed with some decent controls, but it does kind of suck regardless. It's enjoyable enough but definitely some C-tier stuff along with Twin Snakes.

Twin Snakes did some stupid stuff, but it also has a lot of superior renditions of scenes. It contains the "canon" framing of many scenes in my mind. Watching the Metal Gear Scanlon has made me realize that. I kept expecting a camera angle or move that never came. PSX version is rather boring cinematically. Twin Snakes takes it too far in the scenes everyone points out of course, but people seem to ignore the rest.

Please let MGS3 be the 3DS version. I never played it and the TPS view would be very nice to have (would also be nice if it's in MGS2, the FPS aiming felt archaic as hell in the last gen collection).

I really hate the acrobatics they have Snake do in TS; they rendered the crazy shit GrayFox did, very trivial.

In the original, the physical disparity between the two was apparent, for example in the finale against the Rex.
Not to mention that sort of "grace" felt completely out of character for Snake.

How big is the chance this is actually a collection of the original Metal Gear games? I might be looking too much into the exclusion of "solid" but didn't Konami recently send a C&D to that fanmade project (remaking Metal Gear) while they were kinda "ok" with it at first?

I loved the acrobatics and never got the hate for the redone cutscenes myself, the games have you see stupid, over the top stuff like floating psychic gimps in gas masks,
a character merging with somebody because his arm got grafted onto the other person,
and a fat bomber in a metal dog collar rollerskating about the top of a tanker.

I felt like a few moonjump flips during cutscenes and some matrix shit fell right into place!

Binding of Isaac Rebirth, New 'n Tasty, and Homeworld are all releasing in 2014.

MGS1-3 remake is a ridiculous expectation, but Konami will likely remake MGS1 at one point. Though I would predict that will be a separate release from, any collection.

This is part of the TGS presentation plus Konami oddly talking about POps, kinda hard to imagine this is meant to be chocolates

Would be very expensive, perhaps too much.

Hmm, it might not be that bad. They can reuse the audio (maybe go back and remaster it), and the game design already exists. It would be primarily overhauling the graphics with some minor alterations to the gameplay to modernize it.

You know what I want to see - Metal Gear Collection 2014 including all the games, and as a pre-order bonus on Steam/PSN/Live, get Ground Zero's for free. I would buy sooo fast. Maybe it wouldn't work so well outside of Steam since it's already out but...

Also I'm 90% sure the OG Snake voice actor will appear be in MGSV. Don't know how, but he will be. I got your number Kojima

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
