I said it before, Kojima has great taste in music! I had to stop the video though...the feels knowing this is Kojima's final Metal Gear game, with that song...was just too much for me to bare, at this moment. :(

Dude yeah, this song is even more powerful with lyrics. Wow.

I concede it's a pig. I'm glad I asked ya'll. Being a dog lover myself, I don't want to see DD harmed. I may need to invest in some glasses. lol

Yeah that's definitely a pig, the ears give it away.

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
Ok so I thought about it, and came up with a theory for the game's events.

A)You know that scene in last year's trailer where Big Boss is seen walking through a village, what if he never went to that village, and was hallucinating? Seemingly he or someone else kills Skullface which screws him up in the head for an unknown reason. That much his obvious. Big Boss is also in the same pose that he's in when he screams at the end of last year's trailer at 4:31. So either his screaming in agony pose is really consistent/ he has a habit of getting blood all over his face, or he's hallucinating and we were mislead with last year's trailer. Either way, I think Big Boss will end up killing his own troops.

B)I also think Eli(Liquid) will find out that he's a clone, and go crazy, which is why he takes control of the metal gear and tries to attack big boss. Naturally, since it's a clone, Big Boss will kill Eli and take it back to his base, hence the scene at the end where everyone is staring at the Metal Gear while Boss is looking away, unknown whether or not big boss realizes that Eli is a clone or not.

Just my theory. :|

That was me that posted the Quiet theme with vocals :)

If you guys have any questions about the demonstration, shoot away and I'll try to answer.

Some things regarding the new trailer and some things in general.

I think Quiet,
is first encountered in the hospital when she kicks over some dudes and puts bullets in their skulls. Somehow someway she ends up being experimented on after she escapes what looks like some russian soldiers beating/drowning her, and somehow gets picked up by Zero's forces and is experimented on but escapes. You encounter her in afghanistan and either kill, or capture her, I think once you rescue miller and capture her the skulls come after you.

Regarding her powers, If you look at the skulls/parasite unit soldiers they have the same powers as her. I think she ends up being one of Dr.Clark's failed experiments, in the sense that she escaped the fate that the rest of the Parasite unit/Skulls; inevitably I think that this program is the start of the same program that will turn Frank Jaeger into a cybernetic ninja.

I'm not entirely sure how
Eli/Liquid ends up in the hanger with the Metal Gear but it looks like it might be part of the same cutscene where we see BB and Skullface heading into the underground hangar. Presumably this is probably the abandoned nuclear storage facility hinted at in the lore and at the end of GZ. I think possibly somnehow BB/Skullface end up working together, and you can see Huey on the Catwalks above.

Regarding the africa and weird hallway sequence, I think it's possible that Big Boss ends up just kneeling, feeling defeated, and when that sequence we see in Africa happens, he finally snaps and cries out in anger and anguish over the loss of
all the children/soldiers stationed wherever/whatever that happens to be.
.

I think one of the things thematically going on is that nowhere and no matter where Big Boss goes he brings destruction with him, obviously Zero is not happy with Big Boss.

At some point I think Skullface dies, but I think that scene where everyone seems to think he appears out of nowhere is actually some clever camera play and Skull face is probably moving behind him as the camera is panning which gives the illusion of Skullface appearing and disappearing out of thin air.

That said it could totally be some Tyler Durden gotcha, and I think BB is definitely dealing with PTSD which can cause hallucinations both visually and auditory.

Same locations?

From the screens that someone posted in facebook chat, it was North Kabul.

Aight, right here:

Hello everyone. So I've had the opportunity to attend E3 this year and have seen the gameplay demonstration that was presented today by Sean Eyestone at the Konami booth. Here is what happened in the presentation:

The presentation started with Sean Eyestone confirming Micro-transactions, while reassuring everyone that they are only there for those who don't have a lot of time and won't affect the game in any negative way. Whether you believe that or not is up to you.

The gameplay starts in the air command center (helicopter menu screen). Here, they showed the photos on the walls, confirming that they are indeed moments that you can capture and put attach inside the chopper.

Here, we are shown Quiet sitting in front of us, and the various menu features that you can access in the chopper. Mostly the same as Ground Zeroes, except that now you can also fully customize your loadout from here, as well as choose your mission and where to land.

Customization options are simply awesome. You can of course customize Mother Base's color, custom emblems, and Snake himself, be it outfit, weapons, and buddies. You can also fully customize weapons, everything from scopes, barrels, under-barrels, colors, and various parts of the weapon itself.

There is a face option in the loadout section as well, although they didn't go into that. Might be face paint, masks, or who knows what. You can also choose to play as someone other than Snake, although they mostly have very average stats compared to Snake. Oh, and Diamond Dogs have female soldiers that you can play as as well.

Buddies can be selected here as well. Buddies shown are the four known so far, and each can be customized with a different outfit. For example, the default Quiet outfit we always see her in is called the naked camo, and you can change that if you don't want her to look like a bikini model.

They proceeded with Diamond Dog instead of Quiet for this demo. Then, instead of choosing a mission, they went with "Freerom" and just chose a drop location and time to go into the open sandbox of Afghanistan with no mission restrictions.

Dropped into a new section in Afghanistan. DD proceeded to follow in the D-Horse example and peed. Snake can pet DD if he wants.

After that, the player selected a mission from i-Driod, it was episode 3, "A Hero's Way" I believe it was called. The mission, however, does not start immediately. Instead, the player is given three different mission-start locations on the map where the player has to go to start the mission.

Before doing that, the player noticed a side-op nearby, Side-ops are just points of interest in the map where the player can go to and do either in freerom or in main missions. This one involved the extraction of a Russian translator.

The player, who chose to land here with a vehicle beforehand, rode there alongside DD. The location was a crumbling building with Russian soldiers nearby. The player attempted to interrogate one of the guards but could not understand anything.

DD automatically detects enemies and the like. Can be ordered to attack enemies and to wait. The player makes his way inside, kicking ass, and extracting the translator, allowing interrogation of Russian soldiers. The player also rescued a female soldier in the location and fultoned her back to base.

After that, player started to proceed to the mission area. Sprinting alongside DD to the vehicle and driving to one of the three mission-start locations. Arriving at the mission-start location, the player found a machine or something which he proceeded to plug the iDroid into to download mission data. Doing so starts the mission, with the creators of the mission and the characters appearing in it having their names pop on the screen like a TV show. It does NOT interrupt gameplay, since you can continue playing as the names pop up on screen.

The mission had the player eliminating a Russian captain or commander in a Russian base. For this mission, the player extracted DD and brought in the D-Walker, which is seriously overpowered. It moves very fast (faster than the horse probably), has a lot of firepower, shields the player, and can even perform stealth take-downs. The D-Walker even has a funny robotic voice when Snake orders it to do stuff, like scouting the area for enemies for example.

Proceeding with the mission, Snake found that several soldiers are now carrying shields and wearing heavy armor to counter Snake's previous tactics. Boomboxes with tapes found, and a funny moment in which Snake encountered an enemy inflatable decoy inside a building happened, showing that even enemies can use these tactics.

Snake CQC'ed the target and Fultoned him. He, however, encountered an alert phase and called in the D-Walker to kick some serious ass. Really overpowered. Snake also took an anti-aircraft enemy weapon and called in the chopper for extraction. The chopper itself (driver was NOT Morpho) can fire missiles on enemies, kicking even more ass. Snake rode in the chopper, a gun turret infront of him, and blew up everything in place as he flew away.

Mission over, Snake attached a Kojima Productions emblem on his chest, and the demo was over.

Here are a bunch of pictures I took: from the game presentation, the Konami booth, and myself alongside Sean Eyestone and a bunch of amazingly great cosplayers:

I do apologize for the low quality of the photos, I didn't have the luxary of taking my time with them.

Also, before the start of the presentation, they played a vocal version of the Quiet theme, which was frigging amazing. Also, I'm sure I've forgotten to mention a lot of stuff, so ask me anything if you want.

Yeah, he rescues a female soldier during a side-op, and then fultons her.

And does his fireman's carry animation adjust to the weight of hoisting another person on ones shoulders like in the e3/2013 trailer accordingly? Or does he just run normally/unrealistically when carrying as he does in gz?

Not sure, wasn't paying attention to that.

That's a good question. He does a bit of a carry with Jackie-tan during the E3 2014 demo, I believe when he rescues him from the room. But that's all we've seen of that. The team did take note of that animation and they said they'd fix it since GZ came out.

Do the soldiers actually speak when interrogated? Or they just groan like in PW/GZ?

Also, thank you very much for the impressions and the pics. Loving the 80's music selection so far. :)

They speak to each other, but only "groan" during interrogations unfortunately.

Risev da God. I haven't read it all, yet, in case the video we get is the same demo (kinda wanna see that all unfold in action), but I did read bits and yeah, sounds like it'll be the best game ever made! ^_^ So, thanks! (I figured you were the same poster from MGSF!)

Holy fuck. I've been worried about this since gz released. If they do fix it, I'm gonna cry baby tears of joy. Do you know when/where they stated this?

Why, that'll fuck the game balance, if i can invade you, but you've payed for defenses/weapons. and i haven't. then that's just P2W bullshit.

Hm, interesting point, Shy. Makes me wonder how invasions work? Are they random or ranked? By that I mean, can anyone just invade any other person or maybe you have to be some "level"?

Not exactly. You might be able to notice that very early in the release but a couple of days after the release it won't matter.
Some players will go straight for the story, others will spent every minute trying to gather resources. It's the same story with every game that uses microtransactions for items that you can acquire by playing too.

What would be real P2W, is exclusive items for microtransactions.

People can't help themselves, they'll spend as much money as they can right away to build up their motherbase.

Also we don't know exactly how long things will take to develop, and given it's Konami, you can pretty much expect to be corralled in to spending, because things you want to R&D will be artificially delayed to take a long time without paying.
And Because the microtransactiions are for the motherbase R&D, with the game having a player VS player invasion mechanic, players will (excuse the pun) feel pressured in to an arms race of sorts, so they can have the best base.
