Cutting things in pieces on the console version absolutely kills the framerate so I guess the recommended specs are high because they are for running the game at a solid 60fps framerate, as opposed to running at 50-60 with drops as low as 10fps.

I seriously hope this doesn't turn out to be an unoptimized port, sadly Japanese developers and PC never get along much, this game engine should be PC based but... You never know.

Guys please do this and prove to Platinum that there is a huge audience for them on PC. We need Bayonetta!

I would love to see Anarchy Reigns and Vanquish too, those games are sweet.

With late ports like this (or HD remakes), I wish they gave an option to start with everything unlocked and leveled up. I'd even forgo achievements. I hate having to start from scratch. I just don't have the time.

Seems like it'll be cpu heavy. Looking forward to it.

Hopefully Capcom will bring Dragons Dogma next.

I've got a good feeling about the PC version. Platinum internally made a PC version of Bayonetta which even worked with Nvidia's 3D Vision.

They're surely able to optimize the game.

So to get it at the best price we have to blind buy before even knowing if the port is good or not?

Only if you want it now. If you can wait, I'm sure it'll be sub $20 in the summer like Castlevania reached with it's port this year.

Added to the CHAPTER Menu the Boss Stage, enabling to play only the Boss battles.
.
There is an option reading "ZANGEKI" that will modify the amount of cuts you can make.

in for 5 copies

Recommending a GTX 650, eh?

I think that's a good sign.
I'd say it's a bad thing since it shows that the game doesn't have any advanced graphics settings.

Most people probably consider it a good thing though, since it seems to me like to many it is more important to be able to "run at max settings" than to actually have real max settings. (The latter is called "unoptimized)

It doesnt even have a dx11 option.

I will get this immediately. Anything to encourage Platinum and hopefully SEGA to port their classics to PC. Like Bayone~....

They had a internal PC version!? Release this Platinum! I'll even pay full price for it!

Steam account required for game activation and installation
I guess it was too much too hope for a DRM free version.

I will buy this to support PG on PC, also hope that someone will mod in voice distortion so that Raiden sounds like Gray Fox.. I can't stand Flynn's acting.

I understand where you're coming from, but I'm ok with the game not being demanding so high end users can go crazy with downsampling.

Alright, pre-ordered on amazon.

Let's do this ! :)

You sure that's not a $5 credit from an old Digital PSN promo purchase or something? Not working for me.

100% sure.

Nah, high end users could still go crazy with downsampling. The difference is they would have the option: ultra quality graphics and normal resolution or high quality graphics and downsampling.

Having no higher quality demanding settings only gives the player less choice, not more. And PC gaming is all about having multiple choices if you ask me...

That being said as long as the graphics look decent this is one of the games where I value gameplay >>>>>>>>>>>>> graphics, so I wouldn't nag much.

What you just highlighted isn't saying what you think it's saying. You'll get $5 credit that can be applied to selection of other games in January.

Yeah this. You may get $5 off at a later point, but if you didn't already have a $5 digital credit already it's still $20.

I'll never not be sad that they (Sega and Platinum) decided not to go through with a PC version.

Even on 360, Bayonetta had some annoying slowdown that would throw off my groove from time to time.

Hm, didn't think about it, you're absolutely right.

That being said, some people were even expecting it to be a Durante pls port, so I guess it was to be expected that it wouldn't feature anything crazy. Even Zangeki was a surprise to me, I wasn't expecting to be able to tweak that.

Just for the record, I'm not complaining about the port at all, it seems to be everything that could be expected (all DLC, competent technically, cheap price). I was just ranting about the prevalent attitude towards / psychological impact of high-end graphics settings, since it's a pet peeve of mine.

I think the better alternative we got to this is just making most of the settings configurable number values via external editing (.inis) and just limiting the main program to "optimized" settings. It doesn't help that they don't normally include a reference option to what the console settings would be to indicate what the baseline of what the game should look like is, and there's obvious reasons why platform holders would be very opposed to something like that. AC4 might've had some performance issues, but a lot of those were also mixed with people enabling the special Nvidia features (PCSS) that take up a lot of power and look a whole lot better. A lot of that "lack of CPU usage" aligned with GPU usage being completely maxed out as well.

It wouldn't need to be completely hidden away, just enough warnings could do the trick as well. The "red" settings on Witcher 2 are another good approach, I don't recall people complaining about ubersampling. :P

I imagine most people just expected console parity in terms of graphics. So having an extremely powerful GPU in the recommended settings would make it seem like an un optimized port where you need a 780 to run a console game that was already running at 60 fps.

Yeah, I definitely share your view.

It was like seeing people rant about Crysis 3 being unoptimized garbage because they couldn't max it out and keep it at 60fps when Crysis 3 on low with good AA is still better looking than most good looking games.

They released that Viking game on Steam 4.5 years after che console release and they can't release Bayonetta? Come on SEGA.
I don't think there is any way we'll get a PC Bayonetta except maybe way in the future. If Sega is going to re-release Bayonetta, it'd be for Wii U and I don't think Nintendo would want it to come for PC as well.
