fedex brought me my surprise for lunch :D , too bad i`m working until 10 but its installed updated and ready to go ( soo glad i didnt finish on my 60gb)

It's also a track you can unlock for your iPod.
 
I just finished the game and wow. What a game it is. It's already my all-time favorite game. The gameplay was so refined. Stealth worked so well. I loved it.

Best Parts:

Act 1: Getting a feel for the game's stealth mechanics.
Act 2: Octopus Fight was sweet, but Raiden fuckin' shit up took the cake.
Act 3: Sneaking through Europe was awesome, but the Motorcycle chase complete with OMGSICK SLO MO SEQUENCES was unreal.
Act 4: EVERYTHING INVOLVING REX. WHOOAAA EPIC. Split screen fight was sick too, too bad I wanted to watch it.
Act 5: The Mantis fight was awesome, specially when I tried to switch controllers. Though, the Long Walk to GW and the Liquid fights were the best parts of the game. That Long walk with the scenes on the top was spectacular. Add to that the fact that you get tired from pressing triangle so much, you feel snakes pain. Wow.
 
Allright I want to know if anyone figured this out. In the middle of Act II:
There is a transformer that is surrounded by walls all around and no way to get in. I see that there is a cable running from the OTHER transformer but everytime I try to hang towards it I get shocked. I tried shooting the transformer with C4, Gunfire, Rockets and nothing will stop me from getting shocked.

Anyone know how to get in?

I got to the other side on my last session. Not sure why but I dodn't get shocked.
Did you liberate the base already? Maybe that could be it
 
Hmmm. Definitely thinking about taking the plunge and getting a PS3 this weekend. Was a little bit down on the reviews, but this thread is hyping me up a bit. So much overwhelming praise! I absolutely loved the very 1st two games as well, with the original MGS in my top 10 favorite games of all time. As a 360 owner, though, it's frustratingly hard for me to justify the $400-$500 price tag just for this game though.

I got paid today, so I'll give it some thought...

Well, it's either spend $500 for the game, 80gig, and DS3, or wait like 1-2 years for when the system is cheaper and the game will be a GH title. I'd say just bite the bullet and enjoy it now if you are feeling the urge. It's easy for me to say that because it's not my money, but even at only an hour in, this is something you'll probably want to play now. :)
 
Question about bosses:
Do they all have two phases? If so, could I just kill their first form in any way and then tranq the second to get the face camo?

what are you doing to see the BB in beauty form or something? and also, how do u go about doing no killing?? especially in act 3 when otacon suggests u do something so the resistance fighter can go past the guard?

and ANOTHER thing, is there anything special to killing the beauties with the tranq? for raging raven, after she fell out of the suit, i shot her with the tranq gun, her psyche dropped and it looked like she went crazy...was that different?

so they mentioned in 1up show there is a giant gameplay twist in the latter half of the game. can anyone detail this? prob want the spoiler tags...

Well, to be honest, I am a die hard MGS fan. So I can forgive it's shortcomings, and I know the PS3 has a few games coming up that I'm interested in (Gran Turismo 5 namely). So I feel it's worth it.
 
i fucking hate browsing GS forums (system wars section) but reading the meltdown that is going there atm is really fun :lol

It also works witht he first mission briefing which you can select from the menu. This way you can also shock Campbell and get him as face camo. :D

Was just thinking about that. But then I thought about Blu-Ray. I'm really into HD movies (the XBL Marketplace has been very good thus far, but I would actually like to own most of these movies as opposed to renting them). So now that I think about it, the PS3 would definitely be a viable purchase. Although, the bulk of my gaming will definitely still belong to my 360.
 
How does everyone feel the hype on this one is going to go? Will it be like MGS1 and continue on as one of the greatest games of all time, or like MGS2, pretty awesome, but flawed?

I'm going with the flawed mainly because there is just so very little gameplay towards the end of the game
Shadow Moses has some awesome stuff, but it felt short, Eastern Europe had practically NO gameplay, and Act 5 was even shorter than 4 it felt.

So far I found it as a game that started off REALLY well, and kinda petered out gameplay wise near the end. Cinematically, Kojima does some AMAZING things. Holy crap at some of the cinematics!

I just wish more of the game was like the early acts.

There's tons of gameplay, it all goes down to how you want to approach it. That's all.

I have not yet seen it but maybe they are talkin about the fighing game like sequence against Liqiud? Although it isn't really that big of a change.
