MGS3 is a good game, but it most certainly does not trump the rest of the series in story. The plot of MGS3 was one of the more boring game narratives of I've ever experienced and a huge disappointment for an MGS game.

Allright im done, what was there was pretty cool...just wanted more.

I think MGS4 is by FAR the best game this generation and an amazing 10/10 experience, but I think MGS3 is the best game of all time and is still better than MGS4 because:
many excellent lines. All the "I saw space" stuff was <3
Still, MGS4 does a lot of GREAT things that MGS1-3 didn't do, so it's excellent in its own right. But I just prefer the things MGS3 does over the things MGS4 does personally.
I'd definitely go MGS3 >>> MGS4 = MGS1 > Portable Ops >> MGS2. MGS2 gameplay-wise is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PO, but man Big Boss is just so likable so I really enjoyed PO's story. Big Boss is the best character ever.

That was obvious...lol...glad I didn't go through the whole game thinking I couldn't do that.BlueTsunami said:I don't think ouc an lock the game in FPS view but if you want to peak left and right, use the D-Pad (presing left and right) to shift accordingly

2: Not too sure on that, but i don't think so without holding the button.
Its ultimately an agree to disagree thing but MGS3 felt so much more tragic compared to the other games. At least those could pass as a good ending for the protagonist but MGS3 was just harsh. I liked PO's ending for similar reasons but I'm assuming it was intentional in both cases to help the player identify with Big Boss and understand why he became so disenchanted in the first place.Justin Dailey said:MGS3 made me tear up...more than can be said for MGS and MGS2.
Hmm...what's that option called? There are so many options!Linkzg said:Left/Right on D-pad (pressure sensetive).
You can set it to auto first person, but it isn't always first person. Basically, when you hold down L1 it goes straight into first person without pressing triangle, but walking around is still third person.

i recently replayed mgs3 and the cutscenes are just as plentiful as they where here. mgs3 has a LOT of unneeded codec calls imo though. mgs3 was one of the best games ever, but its not the best game ever. which mgs4 is

He was nowhere near that far but not as close as the above poster insinuated. Wiki says he would've had to been within a quarter mile of the site of detonation to receive a lethal dose of radiation.Bebpo said:I thought he was like 30-50 miles away

i was just wondering, does liquid ocelot in MGS2 and MGS4 does he refer to snake as brother or snake? and in MGS1 does liquid ever call him snake or always brother?
cause in the final fight, ocelot calls him snake always i believe so that could be a hint he was always ocelot before the big reveal.
Also when he says he was liquid's doppleganger* he was like and you were your father's was also a nice touch i thought showing he was ocelot and not liquid
absolutely love this game.
