It's very close, but it's not the same exact model. I'm sure of it.

What're you trying to show me? Besides different facial expressions, face paint and the lack of a bandana in one of those pictures, they're exactly the same. They're the same models, man. All MGS games have used in-game models for all their cut scenes.

edit: forgot color-filters.

Heavy-handed monologue sequences and cutaway exposition subscribes to the school of X-Files Syndrome.

You'll find that, at points in the game, you'll spend far more of your in-mission time watching cutscenes play out rather than experiencing or creating the action yourself

The downside of such splendours is that all of this serves to point out how limited much of the gameplay still remains

However, the story is a jumbled web of conspiracies, double-crosses and cameos that anyone but the most ardent Metal Gear fan will struggle through. We'd consider ourselves in this category, but the pace of the revelations that get spilled is punishing.

Best quotes, IGN AU solidified my hype!

Well I can't argue about something you can't see. There really are different models that are used in cut-scenes even though they look almost the same. If you look close the nose doesn't match for example.

It's called facial expression.

NEW WEAPON CUSTOMIZATION VIDEO

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/879/879291p1.html

As far as spoilers go, there are some gameplay tidbits, but they only show sections of the Middle Eastern locale and all are areas we've seen so far. Most of the areas I can recognize are simply from part of the Midtown Maelstrom map from the MGO Beta. It's pretty clean. The weapon customization looks absolutely off the hook. :D

OH GAWD IM CUMMING!

Some inaccuracies though... the M14 EBR is not fully automatic in real life but is in the game.

In fact in the game it seems to replicate the problem with the first generation fully automatic M14's which was the high recoil on automatic fire. As seen in the video full auto seems useless since the jump in shot makes it seem like the 2nd shot will always miss when scoped.

Sorry but these are just the rantings of a gun enthusiast.

Anyway I am getting excited over all the possible weapons to use... M60, Mac-10, 1911 variants, AK-102 w/ GP-30 launcher! Gah a game hasn't gotten me this excited about using the guns since that one game which was scrapped so the team could work on second life instead....I forgot what it was called but it was described as the gran turismo of FPS

Different lighting, different angle and different capturing quality can all contribute to those slight differences

Unless all those screens are from the final build then it's an unfair comparison. Ryan said that the MGS3 model for Snake was finalized until a few weeks before the release.

After seeing MGS dissed on all day (by my friends) and reviews giving opinions on the storytelling in the franchise (though obviously a 9.5 is amazing) it's just great to come into this thread and see all the like minded people who enjoy the series despite some of it's faults and in many cases see the "faults" as good things. If there is ever a fault in MGS (camera in 3, self indulgent boss battle monologues) they were never annoying the first couple times through the game, and even if they did get annoying I loved em because of what they were trying to do. They help create this huge world. This fiction. Like Ngai said on the Bonus Round about why people love the series.

Holy shit that IGN video is some serious gun porn. BTW I had a fucked up dream last night where I was in Snake Eater jungle and was eating snakes.

Man if I was stuck in the jungle a snake would be the last thing I would try to eat. I hope Solid Snake randomly eats a snake in MGS4. :lol

Finnish gaming magazine Pelaaja ('Player' in english) gave MGS4 an 10/10. Same score as games like GTA4 and Bioshock have received. The same reviewer also gave MGS3 9/10 at the time. Hype +100 (if thats still possible) after reading the review.

They all are. The differences are so small it's pretty pointless to argue, but it's a matter of principle right now :lol

It's weird too how the ingame Snake has no facial expressions, breathing animation going on in SE.

Ok, I've been on a KPReport marathon listening to every report nefore the mgs4 launch and in the first one they talk about Kojima's favorite books.

One is "The face of another" I've found the book but I'm also interested in finding the movie (its subbed) which is apparently excellent. I digged apart the earth and cannot find the movie! I cannot find a legit copy on ebay or elsewhere and I can't find a torrent either.

Where should I look for this? Anyone here seen it?

That is fucking brilliant. They've given you so many options with what you can do to your weapons.

"Metal Gear Online or not, we came for the single-player game. We got just enough to balance out the cutscenes. There is definite replayability to be had, if you're passionate."

What?

I don't get why it has the aussie box and slip on the box, everything else is UK pal ;x

But yeah, video tis uploading. Will post a link in a few mins, then I am off to play the game of the forever.

I got it from ebay btw.

zoukka said:
Is that the regular PAL-version? Looks like cardboard?!

Basically its like this. Game comes in a slip case, it seems, I dunno whether all the MGS4 games come in one or not. Both have the aussie age rating, both slip case and the cover of the game. Inside, the disc has the bbfc certificate.
Dunno how that happened. But I really am not fussed.

slip caseeeee..... *drolz*

That's definitely confusing. Jumping? Seriously?

Even more fucked up when considering the only jump in series is the roll, and it's present in MGO. I guess they just wanted to jump to ledges and stuff.

If you guys liked how the MGS2 and MGS3 manual was presented, you will love this one ;p

MOTHERFUCKER :b

Youtube is claiming my video is too big, even though its only 10mb and less then a minute. Im uploading it on daily motion.

why aren't you playing? You do realize that putting others before Metal Gear Solid is the greatest sin you could possibly commit in your lifetime, right? Play the damn game, you, you, you fucking guy.
