Yes you shold be able to play tonite depending on your download speed. I think the "big" download is roughly 27 gb (ps4). The game unlocks at midnight est

As soon as i paused it and started it again it shot up in speed, you've made my evening brother, send over the invite, i'll accept it happily and you've got my word i'll protect your FOB while you're away :p

You only have to download 6gb to start the game. It's apart of that "Play as you download" policy Sony has. Good ol Sony! Basically the 6gb download was the files and assets required to start and play the game.

Edit: So yes you'll be able to play tonight because you've downloaded the 6gb files with the first few missions.

BROTHERS (and Sisters)!! Since the PC version is apparently going to support 100 MP3s, I've already started work on assembling together my playlists.

Right now it's looking something like this:

Custom Helicopter Music (Currently it's just "Long Tall Sally")
Journey's Greatest Hits (1988 version)
Macross 89-99 (4 separate albums; A Million Miles Away, Sailorwave, and 2 more.)
Zam's Mix Tape (contains various randoms plus a few cherry picked songs from Transistor)

That's 67 songs in total. I still have room for 33 more.
Guess it's time I hit up that Google Doc. :)

It doesn't have this feature at launch, does it?

Also, are we still on for the 12:00am unlock? Is it worth me getting up an hour early for work (5am UK time) to start the download early?

According to their online manual. That is what I'm looking at here.

My retailer just send emails saying they will start shipping the game starting 2-3 September, and that means I'll get it on 5th. Damn in times like this I hate everything.
I fonce myself to avoid spoilers wherever possible and they just make it a real challenge.

Awesome. Still, I'm pretty sure when they announced the release date change they specifically mentioned that custom playlists would be added in a patch.

Couldn't you just cancel the order and pick it up tomorrow? Plenty of places will stock it, unless you've bought the Collector's Edition (or you live somewhere that has no game stores).

Anyone planning to play the Metal Gear Solid main themes in Phantom Pain? I actually didn't know I could use my own songs in the game.

The iPod player in MGS4 were killer though! Anyone know how many tunes/songs one could obtain in the game?

I hope you guys have a blast with TPP tomorrow :) I've loved playing so far. I think after about 15 hours I've only achieved 7% completion. Granted for a lot of that I was pissing around in the open world.
This is definitely a long game. As soon as my digital ps4 copy unlocks in a couple hours I will be playing everything again.
I can't wait to play with a decent controller.
Hopefully you all enjoy it as much as me :)

The reason why Big Boss was called Snake Eater, is because he survived the longest and killed all the other Snake clones, earning the name Snake Eater.

I think you can mitigate that issue by copying the URL on the document and pasting it into a youtube converter website and just download the MP3.

Well, it's real shitty for me.

First of all I'm in Russia and not even in Moscow city. I'm positive that the game would not be available at all in Russia on release (phisical of course).

Second, yeah, I ordered the collector's and now I'm commited to it.

I guess I would just play more Persona on my Vita now instead of going nuclear :(

He was even called Snake Eater? The mission Snake Eater was because Big Boss had to destroy the Cobra Unit. I don't know who told you that but that person needs to play MGS3.

Does anyone know if there will be a custom sound profile for the playstation gold headset? Just ordered one to use with TPP because my old headphones have just died.
