I will happily pre-order this game and I haven't pre-ordered a game since MGS V.

I'm sick and tired of garbage soulless remakes of classic games. Resident Evils (excluding the 1st game from 1996 and 2002), Dead Rising, Silent Hill 2, Final Fantasy VII, Dead Space, etc etc. I'm sick of them censoring fun and promoting their modern world political agendas while using these masterpiece works of art as a vessel for their propaganda.

In a sea of shitty soulless remake darkness, this game stands alone as a shining light of hope that game studios can still release a remake that is a monument to all the things that made the original good while improving on it visually and perhaps mechanically. That's all that's needed from a remake.

I want to send a message to Konami (and by extension all other studios watching) that respecting the original and not censoring it is what gamers want and will happily put my money where my mouth is to get that message across. I can't wait to play this incredible game again.

I really wish they would've included the MGS1 sneaking suit (it's so iconic, my absolute favorite) or even the sneaking suit from MGS V (which looks a lot like the iconic MGS1 suit). It would be badass and it's certainly not more absurd than Gold Snake or Tux Snake.

Loved MGS 1 and 2 back in the day. Took a near decade long break from gaming and never played MGS 3 or 4. Tried MGS 5 and didn't really like it.

This should probably be up my alley if it's a good port/remake right? How is MGS3 generally thought of compared to the first 2?

In some cases it does make sense. For example, I was going to buy Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 day one. Buying it a few days in advance gave me access to some extra content in the form of a quest and equipment, for exactly the same price. But if you are not planning on buying day one then yes, pre-ordering is idiotic, specially if, unlike with Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, there are no extensive previews of gameplay during the preceeding month by lots of different people.

At least the one you actually get in MGS 3 looks so good. It's my favorite by far.

3 is in the same league as 1 and 2. 4 has the weakest gameplay, but the largest emphasis on story. 5 has the best gameplay, but the weakest story.

If you liked 1 and 2, you'll like 3.

Yeah, including the MGS1 Sneaking Suit would be an easy way to take another few bucks off of my wallet.

I preordered the physical edition from Amazon UK last June for 75 pounds. It's now 90 pounds but Amazon is respecting the price. It blows my mind that a digital copy could be more expensive than a physical one on launch.

I think Deluxe physical is worth paying more because of the steelbox but I'd never pay for a Deluxe digital edition just for some skins and playing a bit early... My copy will arrive by September 4th, I have no problem waiting a bit to save some money.
