What the fuck is going on with this game? I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and it won't fucking work. I can't play the goddamn game because it won't get past "Installing game data..."

Somebody please help me.

I am severely distressed.
 
Still not received my day one copy from Amazon UK, never ordering release day stuff from them again, especially as I'm a prime customer

It took that long because the side tasks of that mission are ludicrous.
 
Ordered my copy today, would have paid extra to get it delivered quicker than 2-3 days but I am prepared to wait!!

Its been a long time coming....soon it'll be time to kick some Metal Gear ass!!!
 
As a long-term MGS player up to GZ which I only played the other day and up to mission 11 I just don't get what all the hype is about. I'm finding the gameplay repetitive and done better on the last splinter cell. I miss the story the cutscenes and the interactive gameplay. For me its changed for the worse. I'm leaving the thread as not to upset anyone but I'm done with it already and will be trading it in. Biggest disappointment for me in a long time :(

The problems are as clear as day to me. Stealth is far harder to get going in terms of development progress, D-Walker is broken, D-Horse loves to wander a bit too much, some missions (like the first where you meet
the skulls
) are a bit too overly cinematic, the prologue was great the first time but I dread repeat playthroughs with that, character models for NPCs are a bit too PS3 level for me, space between bases needs to be shortened, and the game has some highly abuseable items/weapons.

It could also be argued that "making your own fun" isn't necessarily fair to all gamers, and checkpoints are far too few.

But all that is pretty damn tame compared to how much fun I'm having, moment to moment.
 
Can anyone help me, i tryed to put the codes that came in the ground zeroes box to use in phantom pain "mother base staff" but it says the code its incorrect, does anyone also have this problem?
 
Just got to play the prologue and 1st mission last night. Eyes are practically glued to the clock at work. Can't wait to get home and play more. Such an amazing game so far.
 
So uh. I finished the prologue and now it's saying installing game data: Do not turn off the system, 507 seconds...

And it's just sitting there, not counting down or anything. Am I missing something? Game broken?

Close app, eject disc, reinsert disc, restart the game and continue.

Should fix it.
 
Early game question (I'm on mission 5)

Is there anything to actually do on Mother Base? I keep coming back and running round, but there doesn't seem to be anything happening except guards saluting and puppy DD being pleased to see me. (Can you interact with him at all? I haven't worked out a way to)

Sure is pretty though.

What console are you on? I assume if it's PS4 or Xbox One, it's still installing the data from the disk. On both of those consoles, ready to play =/= fully installed.

EDIT: Doh. Misread. Didn't see that you said it's not moving.

I'm having the same issue. People are saying delete the game, restart the system, and reinstall is working. It hasn't worked for me, on my fourth attempt. I'm just about ready to explode.
 
If I have Ground Zeroes for XB1 registered on Konami Core and I register the Phantom Pain PS4 version, do I still get the bonus? Or do they have to be from the same system.
 
Just passed the cutscene before the title screen and I already love this game.

Playing on PC, 720 everything is medium to high, looks and runs amazing.

Also, indeed A Hideo Kojima Game.

I had the same. Got it working after restarting my ps4.
 
i never played any of the other games, dont have consoles either to do so, is this even worth playing if i havnt played the previous games?

but by MGS standards, I don't think that can be the scene you mean.

That's because the Fox Engine adapts to your tactics, meaning if you did a bunch of missions doing nothing but tranq people in the head they will sooner or later use helmets.

Just try out different items and tactics, there are TONS of options.

Where were you in the game when the installing game data screen showed up?

For me it was near the end of the prologue and I fixed it by uploading my savegame to the cloud, deleting the game and then reinstalling it again.

After that I got to the same screen again but this time the counter was working.

It doesn't, and eh. How big of a Metal Gear fan are you? If you're a fan of the story and have been following everything, then yeah, it's worth it to play Ground Zeroes as it's primary job is to bridge the gap from Peace Walker to The Phantom Pain, but if you're just jumping into this one, nothing you learn in Ground Zeroes is going to matter to you, and this game summarizes that one pretty well.
 
I love playing as soldiers other than snake. I feel like I can break the Big Boss character and do crazy ass shit. Everytime I play as Snake I play super sneaky, but with the other soldiers I feel more free to go in guns blazing. Just driving a jeep loaded with c4 into the middle of the base and lighting it off before calling a helicopter to mop up the rest. Fun stuff.

Still hoping the game gets more challenging though.

I cringed hard.

Opening the map will show you what the enemy has equipped to counter-act your strategies in icon form on the top right.
