Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Official thread of HOLY FREAKING CRAP

After Nintendo released the Prime 3 preview channel, I went ahead and pre-ordered a copy at EB. I have this gut feeling the game is gonna rock pretty hard. Not to mention the fact that it's good to finally be hyped about something on the Wii.

Day 1 here..in Australia :(

Will be my first Metroid Prime game apart from Hunters which was boring but apparently Hunters was bad..so im optimistic.
 
Nice thread Spinnington! This is definitely a day one pick up for me, I've been looking forward to this since it was originally announced for the Wii as a launch title. I'm sure the rest of GAF will crucify me for this but I'm passing up BioShock for Prime, I'm so hyped for it.

i will get Metroid on day 1, but i'll have to wait like 1 1/2 more week untill my copy arrives from Amazon.
 
I will getting it day 1. I go back to school for the first time in a year that day too which sucks.

Day one purchase, but not in august. This game is in development for about 3 years, should be the best of the three.
 
I checked yesterday on Wii shop, and nothing was there, so I thought you all were playing a joke. Then I see more posts regarding the preview, so I google it to find a video of on Youtube. Finally someone says its only in NA.

Man that video left me feeling like.... like..... all kinds of hype.
I just feel like playing the opening to "The final countdown", like that YTMND made of Pokemon Diamon/Pearl, before its Japan release. That was awesome.
 
I'm so hyped up for this game. I'll be getting it on the day of release. School starts two weeks after the MP3 release, so Ive got plenty of time to play it. Metorid prime with the nunchuck should be pretty damn sweet.
 
Im probably going to take my time with this game and finish it with at least 90% of the items. This game is going to be the first fleshed out single player experience since Zelda.

If IGN is right about them getting their copy this week, then I will too. I'll post some impressions when the game arrives. :)

Did the exact same thing myself. I am super-hyped for Galaxy and Brawl also. Gonna be a great second half of the year for me and my Wii.

Funny fact: I was superhyped about Wii because of its upcoming games on release: Zelda, Mario Galaxy and Metroid, which I all played in September 2006. Now, almost 1 year later, I still havent got a Wii, because the games, minus Zelda, failed to show up when the console came out.

Anyway, I still cant wait for Metroid Prime 3, I hope it pushes me to buy a Wii.

When you watch the Ridley video, pay attention to the animation on the wings when you're close up, or the way when he's falling in front of you he's actually clawing at the tubing to try and slow himself down / stop. It looks great... shame there's no music / sound effects to it. I'd love to see that direct feed as well

:lol :lol i started replaying Metroid Prime 1 again, and my brother was watching me all along (he finished both Primes too). as soon as i dropped the controller ~7pm, he grabbed it and played until 3am.

hurry the fuck up 28th!!
 
Great official thread! Remember to mention the Metroid and Super Metroid on VC tie-in though! That is very important!
 
I'll be on a work trip the week this comes out :( First MP I won't be getting (and subsequently finishing shortly thereafter) on launch day :(
 
I probably won't get it day one because I'll most likely still be playing Super Metroid.
 
I'd like to add that while checking on a pre-order at GS this morning, there was a gigantic Metroid Prime 3 cardboard stand at the door. It's so close to the entrance I almost knocked it over, which is a good thing since I noticed it!

Also, Nintendo Power has a decent cover story on their first six hours of MP3, noting that it's the best of the three and that they've only gotten 19% through the game according to the counter. They also note that the puzzles and backtracking now feel more organic than ever before, despite the game's lean towards a more linear plot.

Thanks! Persona 3 is already paid off. I hate to seem hypocritical, but I don't even think I'll have time to play P3 before I leave --I'll either pick up MP3 the minute I get home or just before I head out to London.

I remember seeing a late December 2007 release date floating around, though I don't know if it was around here or at some other site...so who knows...
 
I wonder what the review copy pack-in for MP3 will be. For example, Mario Strikers Charged came with Capri-Sun and Mario Party 8 came with cotton candy.
