I disconnected from the server after I got my unlocks as it was just slowing down the the game, you can do that from the helicopter pause menu.

Are you sure they're not unlocked periodically even without a Ground Zeroes save?

He just showed up after completing a mission.
Edit: hmm, doesn't seem like I can use him in the field, unless I'm missing something

Awesome, thanks for the confirmation. Previously it had been said that the GZ recruits could eventually be unlocked in TPP even without a GZ save, but I guess that was false.

IIRC all the promo renders for the Legacy Collection and MGS3ds were done in the Fox Engine, they were:

MGS1/2/4 Solid Snake
MGS2 Raiden
MGS3 Snake (Fatigues, Sneaking Suit)
The Boss

There may have been more but that's all I remember.

The MGS3 Sneaking Suit has already been seen in the Launch Trailer, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's unlockable in the game or on-disc dlc -- and I'm sure Konami isn't going to miss out on more money, so I expect paid skins from every MGS game.

Anyone else on PS4 not being able to log in to the servers? Says it failed to log in to server and that I won't be able to use Online Features. (10012) So naturally I can't transfer my save from GZ.

Servers were up a few hours ago, then went down as soon as the official launch happened. They'll likely be down all night.

I'm betting those skins are tied to S Ranks, going by the Master and Grand Master certificates needed.

You probably have to S Rank every main mission to unlock Raiden.

I'd also guess that completing every side objective unlocks another skin, probably the MGS3 Sneaking Suit or the crazy skinless-faced Snake from the launch trailer.

You might be right. The exception is that I didn't get any skin from clearing all 157 side ops, but maybe I wasn't paying attention when those scrolling notifications appeared after beating #157.

I'm up to 13 S ranks in the story FWIW.
 
Is bald soldier (with the second tape) actually one of the dudes you need to extract? He doesn't seem "unique" enough.

so I can upload my current GZ save, start TPP downloading that save, then at some point go back to GZ, get more stuff, re-upload, and re-download on TPP and get the extra stuff?

Is there confirmation on the menu screen that tells you your ps3 gz save transfer is successful? I don't want to play the game and find out later that the transfer fail. Thanks.
 
Just redeemed my Konami Core code (one in the retail box) on their site and was given a DLC voucher for "Mother Base Staff 1".

I also extracted the last prisoners in GZ and uploaded my save, unsure if I'll get more Bonuses or not tomorrow.
 
I transferred my save and didn't receive any of the soldiers, just the suits. I had a 100% GZ save too.

Do I need to do something else to unlock them?

From the sounds of things, it sounds like they gradually show up in TPP after doing a couple of missions.
 
I don't really understand ... I have just done the main mission in GZ and Deja Vu. If I upload my save now to get the bonus can I upload it again later to get Raiden ?
 
I never has time to play gz yet. I will before I start tpp. Is it possible to play it just once and get a 100% save file for tpp? Will I miss a lot ? Is everything unlocked from the beginning ? Is it just skin or actual different move ?

Apparently, you can. This would make sense if all the save download does is check some flags that are then processed in TPP.

I'm pretty sure you can do them separately, like every other POW, as long as you finish the mission each time.

On the title screen, there should be 3 items: Continue, Import GZ Save, and Options.
