Man I love Moore and if I was in the states I'd gladly join you guys. I mean you guys are stuck with Trump for 4 years so putting constant pressure and backlash on him will make him buckle because he has no spine. The republicans are gonna do some nasty crap but at least protesting can hopefully bring some change or at least have him back down on some of the racist garbage to at least make things a little easier for 4 year.

Considering that Trump thinks that the protesters are paid shills, the only thing that can change his mind is if the dems take back some seats.

Which is unlikely considering how the house is gerrymandered and the senate only has 8 pub seats up to the dems 28 during the midterms.

the answer to "what did the occupy movement accomplish?" is having a outwardly unapologetic Socialist come very close to being nominated to a major party, despite all attempts by the establishment to smush him out.

yall zinging about coffee and tents, keep up that self-congratulatory posturing, it just lost you the election

I love this idea! Since the DNC doesn't support the base it says it does anymore why not take it back? Trump hijacked a republican party that was in shambles knowing that he could talk his why to winning the primary and then the WH. Since this is a 2 party system the only way to win if you don't support those parties is to pretend to. Just like Trump.

This is something that needs to be done. Never stop raising your voice no matter what. Always be a thorn in their side. It's time for a new party.

I told yall leaders would emerge. More and more will come out as time passes. I'm in.

WE. HAVE. TO. FIGHT.

I like a good fight.

I gotta admit that Moore has been on point in retrospect to Trump's win.

Yeah you're probably right but I guess if no one tries then you'll never know. At least the next 4 years will fire up people to vote against him.

This has to be a Tea Party movement rather than Occupy. We can't sit in a park for a few weeks. We need events everywhere hosted by everyone who feels inspired enough to organize one. Get people engaged locally to vote on literally everything they can.

This fucking year has me looking to Moore as a some sort of savior

What are we doing man

Dude's been putting in work since he made Roger & Me and wrote Stupid White Men. GAF has been sleeping on him for some reason. He's hella lit 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Good luck and try not to let the movement get hijacked by a-holes who ruin every good movement that comes alone (Occupy, tea party, etc...)

never left the stone age
Good luck Mr. Moore. I hope your idea can bring about positive change, in any capacity.

It's amazing how a week ago the destruction of the Republican party was all but assured.
Maybe they came from the Berenstein universe

I agree but learn from BLM and the Tea Party. This needs to be decentralized. You have a figurehead , and they become the avenue to delegitimize the protests.

Yes. We need Sanders campaign-esque rallies popping up all over the country over the next couple years in preparation for the mid terms. Fuck anyone who tries to say we need to kick back, let cooler heads prevail and pick up the pieces.

Be mad, stay mad. Get people chomping at the bit for a chance to change shit and don't let them forget what's at stake. Let's not wait for the next primary season. We should have a couple major news stories covering large-scale, opposition events every month leading up to 2018.

And embrace the "fuck Clinton" narrative. Alright, crazy right-wing. You got us. Fuck them. Now forget about that talking point.

LOL!

A week ago GAF fucking hated Michael Moore.

Moore, TYT, Maher, Sanders. The core of GAF tried too hard to play to centrist nonsense, comparing our fringe (the aforementioned) with the likes of Beck, Hannity, Alex Jones on the right. It was, and has always been nonsense. A self-defeating false equivalency.

Tea Party was so successful that they're now the establishment Trump rallied his base against. It's our turn to be assholes. Playing nice fucked us and the country over.

He talks about it in the article. Not just GAF. A lot of people were angry with him because they were under the impression he was being for lack of better word, a negative Nancy if you will.

No one wanted to believe Hillary would lose. He's taking this in stride though. He's ready to lead.

If anyone were to lead a successful fight it would be him. Good luck to him and everyone who will rise up and speak thier voice because they are going to need it.

Out of genuine curiosity - what did the last Occupy movement accomplish, exactly?
Occupy and BLM have both "failed" in the sense that they let the right-wing media corrupt their message. Occupy was depicted as a group of lazy millennials with too much time on their hands and BLM was depicted as an angry anti-cop, anti-diversity group.

I hope the people that participate in this group recognize the value of communicating to the other side. Look no further than Sam Bee and TDS's segments on the All Lives Matter counter-movement thing. When presented with BLM actually stands for, most of them completely agreed. But that's not at all what Fox News presented BLM to be. If we take the time to explain and not shout at each other, maybe something real can be accomplished here.

Jack shit would be the answer you're looking for.

Though to be fair, one of the reasons it failed was because there was no clear leadership. Perhaps with someone like Moore at the helm, this could change.
