Enjoy.

Just going to throw a question in the air. How can you tell how much battery power is left? It seems to be missing the usual power indicator...

I can see myself playing one of these on that long train ride to the beach, but there is NOOOO way I'm paying $100 for it. I pack light because I assume that my stuff will get stolen while I'm surfing. >:/

its got same lighting like GBA SP.. red light comes when batterys about to die.. just read the ign thing =/

The coolest thing i'd say about it.. is it includes alot of faceplates and the faceplates are pretty much screen protectors since they all come with the layering above the screen to protect it from scratches.. and it comes with the faceplate lifter upper tool as well..

As you can see from the shots, it's not much smaller than a folded SP. I have both sitting here and while the micro is a fun novelty, it's basically a worse SP with a smaller screen and a more annoying control layout.

Micro looks nice, but too expensive.

Yup. With a screen that small, and given that the GBA isn't exactly top of the line any more, I really was expecting around 50-60 bucks, but I guess it was just wishful thinking.

The screen is too small... >_<
I don't care how "sexy" it looks or how the screen is the best (quality-wise)... Is just too damn small...

You people are just born to complain. I tried the micro out at E3:

-The screen is a decent size, slighty larger than most cell phone screens actually.
-The screen is sharp and bright. It was very easy to see what was happening.
-My fingers and hands didn't hurt while holding it.
-It's very lightweight.
-I found it to be "ugly", or more accurately "not sleek".
-Most people will have no use for one.
-It's overpriced. It should have been $49.99.

But I guess Nintendo can always make people buy another version of the Micro with corner triggers down the road.
It's funny (sad?) because it's true.

EDIT -

Seriously. When this thing was revealed, I thought it was going to be a lower-cost alternative to the SP, similar to an iPod Mini. As it stands, I don't see how this thing is worth anywhere near what it costs.

reducing the screen size to make a smaller handheld was simply stupid. i wont be getting one.

I really want to see exactly how sharp and bright it is. Apparently IGN says its brighter than the DS screen.

Drop me a line when its under $50.
Yeah, no kidding. Even though Nintendo can and will get away with the $99 price tag, that's still asking too much. I'll probably still end up picking it up on launch though. :lol :(

Not I - I am finally able to justify my DS purchase with Advance Wars: DS. Its that damn good.

My SP will do just fine for those rare situations when I cannot lug my DS around for GBA play.

Do you think it would've been a better idea to release it with pokemon emerald? Or did that clear out remaining stock of the old GBAs?

Advance Wars DS is definitely a great reason to pick up a DS. Brilliant game but even though I already have 4 different ways to play GBA games, I am still tempted to pick up a Micro. Damn that sleek sheen of new hardware.

Its definitely a sickness I can apprieciate. But I'm saving cash for more next gen goodness.

How come the Micro's screen is considerably smaller than that of the standard GBA (and SP)? Did they crop pixels? Or are the pixels just smaller/closer to each other?

Very, very bright and very, very sharp. Just too small. Most text IS readable, but you often have to stare or squint. Which sucks balls. Also, I hold mine (and all d-pads) like a spaz, which means I can't comfortably reach the L and R buttons AT ALL. Which is hardly Nintendo's fault but there it is.

And joy of joys it uses a regular headphone socket.

Impressions are actually pretty positive for this thing.

I'm liking it. It has the sexiness of the PSP only it has great games to play.

But I'm not getting it. :lol

Just FYI, we live in the United States of America where if you have no need or desire for a product, you don't have to buy it.

Not to turn this into some sort of bizarre Xbox 360 vs. Game Boy Advance thread, as funny as that would be*, but the Retard Pack's obnoxiousness has nothing to do with its desirability or price. It's the fact that its very existence is a blight on Xbox 360 content. There's no risk of that with GB Micro because for all intents and purposes, AGB development is pretty much over.

mostly because sales in Japan of the two consoles will probably be neck-in-neck**

if you don't count the SP or the Micro, I mean

Or you bomb the country where it was made.

My SP is messed up and lately I've been playing my GBA games with the GBA player. I'll definitely be picking this one up as opposed to getting another SP, though. I could never conceal my SP behind cupped hands when playing at work (we're not allowed to do play games at work), so I'm hoping I can pull it off with this gadget. When the boss walks in, all I have to do is turn the sucker off quick, place it face-down, and he'll think it's a cell phone or something.

Tried playing Fire Emblem on the Micro on the bus ride back last night.

Not cool at all.

Too expensive, too small and it looks like shit. It'll sell loads...
