You only need the converter if you want to connect to older GBA's. If you're just connecting to other micros then you only need the new link cable. Or you could get the wireless adapter.

If I remember right, it was significantly brighter at max setting. I wonder if they held back from putting this screen technology in the DS because they couldn't match the clarity on the touchscreen?

Price is the only thing holding the Micro back. $100 is just too much for a GBA now, at any size. Otherwise, it's a sensible little machine to have with you.
