I take everything with a grain of salt when its that redacted. Might be something, might not. Til then all we can go off is actions. Some might say, "well, we haven't seen any Activision games on Gamepass" which is true. However, how long has Microsoft and ABK been embrolied in this potential deal? The deal might have been the alternative to them adding COD, for example, to Gamepass.

People need to keep in mind that Kotick did say that he would add COD to a subscription service, but the price that would make it worth it is just unrealistic to think anybody would actually pay. $69 billion would cover that cost and obviously more...seeing as though it's to buy ABK as a whole.

I'm thinking that in strategic talks regarding how Activision games (not necessarily COD) they may have come up with some kind of math that would work.

Important to note, COD is not specified in the redacted document far as we can tell.

Let me try again since your ears were apparently filled with console warring:

Nobody should give a shit what Sony wants. The acquisition is between Activision and Microsoft. Sony is going to do whatever they can to block this acquisition because it is bad for Sony. Nobody, regardless of which side of the aisle they fall in regards to this acquisition, should care what Sony says or does. If Microsoft and Sony had their places swapped in this acquisition, then I would still be saying the same thing about Microsoft. The competition that doesn't want the acquisition to go through can largely be ignored, aside from using data that the regulators request from them that provides clarity on how the industry works.

Quit crying about Sony. Jumping on the internet doesn't give you carte blanche to turn into a whiny bitch because someone doesn't like your favorite piece of plastic. Ignore Sony, and focus on the people who matter in this acquisition. That would be Activision, Microsoft, the lawyers/solicitors and judges/magistrates involved in the individual cases, and the regulators themselves. Nobody else matters.
I was all set to agree with you, until you loss your mind with the last three run-on sentences You made great points don't let anger foul up your good points. Actually, I think Sony hurt themselves more by having to show up in court because your right it isn't about what Sony wants.

Profit is after expenses. That's why it's called profit.
Sony has never reported 4 billion dollars in profit for PS in its history.

Also read this:
Both of these services talk profitability of games and services, not the entire division.

Games & services make profit, but hardware loses money. So what is the end net result? Is the net result a profit or a loss? Also, what about other expenses, such as admin, marketing, etc.?

By the way, you still haven't answered my question, which was about Xbox having an operating expenditure of merely $15 billion and how it's possible.

Unless I see actual, published data from Microsoft, I don't believe they make a profit. Because, again, one doesn't hide the financials of a profitable business, say that the business is not going strong, and suggest shutting it down.

You don't seem to understand what a run-on sentence is. Also:

These were my last three sentences in my previous post. Can you tell me which of these sentences triggered you?

More the tone than anything but, personally I don't care I'm here for the fun and games. If a message board triggers you, well then I think the person needs a new hobby. :messenger_beaming:

Your looking for the wrong person if you think I'm triggered sorry. I just love the board :messenger_smiling_hearts:

If we get a early verdict, I bet its tomorrow after markets close. This would allow 2 days before stocks increase or drop.

I wonder what this thread will look like once a decision is made? Probably get locked.
The mods will be busy once this decision is made

Sony has a vested interest. It's still not about them in the this process, any more than it is about any other company for or against. Regulators will take other company's feedback and information, as they've asked a myriad of them to provide, since this impacts regional and global markets. Sony, like Apple, Google, Nintendo, etc., represent consumers they provide products for.

MS would have done the same, only brand fanatic opinions would flip flop with the mental gymnastics. This is normal business and procedures in the M&A world. Especially when the 2nd richest company in the world is trying to make you smaller when you already are smaller by far as a market cap entity.

TIL, XBL or Nintendo doesn't exist and only Sony and Apple have walled gardens. 🙃

What an utter tripe of a mental gymnastics statement you just made.
MS kinda did with the Nvidia Arm acquisition that eventually fell thru:

"Oh but that was different"

Some ppl are a wee bit to emotional about all this.

Yeah, that's why I said 1-2 months. Obviously it's less than her comment.

Yeah but she didn't make any indication that it's gonna take anywhere near a month either. It's very likely we'll have it before the next week is over.

Sounds like reaching.
Closer to the 2-3 month comment is much more likely. There was no indication it would happen that fast, only that it should be faster than 2-3 months.

Well the decision could be made on the 14th but, MS doesn't have much wiggle room if that's the case. I'm sure MS has it's plans for dropping or proceeding already laid out depending on what happens. The 7th and 14th (at closing) would best for market resets providing a greater than 48 window.

Yes. They dream of the acquisition and jerk off thinking about it, 24x7. More importantly, they ban anyone who even shows a little bit skepticism about this deal passing lol.
I really think MS finance Era nowadays like they did with Polygon in the past. Many mods are xbox fanboys. Original members left a long time ago. Era became a xbox safe heaven.

What did I miss?
Sony is going to sell off SIE to Apple or Tencent to justify why the second largest company in the world who've failed to gain ground in the 20+ years of console gaming, should be rewarded with the largest and one of the oldest 3rd party publishers. Who are ahead of even Nintendo in market cap and revenue.

The Japanese bombed Sega in Pearl Harbor so bad, they landed in Japan when they came back down. Rumor has it, that it happened on a Wednesday.

People watch too much Law & Order and expected Judge Judy decision that day or over the weekend.

Colt "The Spectrum" Eastwood is still stuck to Phil Spencer's taint like a suckerfish to a whale shark. Where the sucking off is so strong, that it caused Phil's necktie to tighten up like a puckered arsehole.

We are all just a happy acid drop gang.

Oh, please. Xbox fans push that narrative more than Sony fans who troll with it.

Phil has been in the news every single week for 10 years, and has finally STFU. As the literal face and mascot of the brand. Not even close.
There's hardly any Xbox fans here. And I've never done it.
