This is an other matter. The acquisition is currently blocked in the US and it will stay that way for 5 days after the judge's verdict whenever that is delivered.
It doesn't bound the judge to make a verdict today and I don't know where you heard it.

Not really, M$ and ABK agreed to this deadline without any consideration for regulatory timescales. So it's actually their own piss poor planning that would be killing the deal.

They cry about ABK because they can't play games.

Because somewhere they forgot being a gamer meant actually playing games.

Also proves they don't need to buy publishers to get games into Game Pass. At least, for non-Day 1 titles.

Even Microsoft's clause for no 3P Game Pass games being on competitor subscription services doesn't look too bad in this case since they have a marketing deal for the game.

FWIW it's not all Xbox fans; there are actually normal ones. And all three have rabid fans. Microsoft's seem to easily be the worst in terms of rabidity though, because MS (or at least Xbox) openly condemn and enable their most toxic followers.

Sony & Nintendo just ignore them like they don't exist.

Emmm no and you're jumping from one thing to an other. The judge didn't commit to deliver a verdict by today at all.
Still I questioned myself and asked you if you had a source on that and it's clear you haven't one...

Microsoft and Activision can extend their deal as much as they believe is needed if they wish so and find the conditions.
The law system is not bent to the needs of a company.
Also what matters is the decision itself unless Activision truly wants to escape from the deal asap.
If the point is closing before July 18th not only CMA says hello but even FTC could just appeal if they lose and get an extension to the TRO.
Do you think in that case they would still give up?

I remember looking at Todd Howard's Fallout 76 E3 presentation and thinking "damn, it actually looks pretty good".

We still don't know how good or bad are core elements of this game like procedural generation. But this is not a discussion for this thread so EOT.
